I'm going to be a senior in high school, and am beginning the congressman nomination process. I'm not very good at math, but is there a chance I can go to college for a year or two in the NROTC, raise my GPA, then get in?
Just try applying. If you truly want to get in, go to college improve your grades and apply again. That's what I'm doing. Im still in Marine Corps DEP, but I'm getting out tomorrow. What do you want to do?
im joining the marines just got to swear in and i learned about this academy im spanish got a 2.8 gpa my sat is 1100's am i even in a slight of chance on getting accepted
@USMCForceRecon100 No. At that point in the vid, torquethat is showing the opportunities that away graduates in the Navy or Marine Corps. That being said, there are Marines at the Academy. They are either staff or instructors. Also, some of the midshipmen are prior-enlisted Marines who come from the FMF to attend the academy. The Academy commissions 200-250 Marine officers each year.

Hello, I have a question for anyone who is willing to respond. I am going to an interveiw and will most likey be asked why I dont want to got into the USAFA or USMA, but the USNA. If anyone has any Lagitiament resons please speack up, I do want to go HERE nowhere else.
@apoure25 Hey...do you know if going to NASS is critical? I mean, does attending boost your attractiveness to the USNA admissions board significantly, would you say?
@semestershark Well, let me put it this way. Attending on its own doesn't help much, what really helps is how you perform there and what your leaders think. Although, as long as you maintain a positive attitude and give 100% you'll be ok. I for example had some trouble with some of the physical parts but did my best and didn't quit. The way it REALLY helps is to tell yourself if the academy is something you really do want to do. Overall, about a third of NASS attendees go on to get appointments
@apoure25 thanks man, I was worried about not being able to attend NASS. Do you mind if I ask you how your situation is developing? I mean, how likely are you to gain an admission, would you say?
@semestershark Well, for me it's kind of tough to say. I'm by no means a "prime" candidate, but my curriculum/AP classes and my ACT score along with a few other things are keeping me in the running. I think I have a decent shot at it, so does my school's college admission counselor. But, you never really know. Thats why I have my ROTC backup plan lol. Mind me asking what grade you're in?
@apoure25 Well, I suppose I'm basically in tenth grade (homeschooled) My concern s stem from the fact that the USNA tends to select candidates who have more of a background established...but I'm doing a few things to supplement my curriculum...
