thats sumthin like them howling just to distract ya then it goes quiet ya hear a stick break behind ya and ya turn around and theres a pack of wolves standin there waitin to attack ya
In this case I was out in the open, so there would not have been any sneaking. In the past though I have experienced just what you said, not the sneaking, but being in close quarters to the bush it is a concern. Makes the hair stand up.
Thanks! Sorry about the "lame duck" howling I tried. I probably should have edited that out... but that was how it happened... keeping it real. lol
Next year I'm going to get one of those suckers for sure. They are around every year and I get a little closer every encounter... it is just a matter of time.
@AllAboutMoose No problem! Actually your howling didn't sound to bad! I sliced 3 yotes this year and missed another. Also two more of them dirty dogs escaped death because I could get it on film unfortunately and I self film all my hunts. I just walked in from the woods, I just found a fawns leg about an hour ago. Them bastards!!!
@MatWol41 What, does killing a wolf offend you? i kill wolves every chance I get. They even look crosseyed at my cattle and they eat a bullet. Don't worry though, I have plenty of bullets.
came across this video by looking at puppies? ha! anyway, this is amazing :| gave me chills, it sounds so eerie/haunting yet beautiful at the same time! i would love to experience hearing wolves in the wild, yet i don't know how i would handle it lol! wow, :) unfortunately we don't get them in england lol!
@amyisonline Surfing the net sure brings up some interesting experiences, doesn't it? I'm glad you enjoyed the sounds! The experience of hearing wolves in the wild like that is one you never forget. I am very glad that when those wolves started howling I was in the open... not deep in the woods; that would have been unnerving!
Years ago I was deep in the woods and a few wolves started to howl nearby... every hair on my neck stood straight up! I don't think I was smiling that time!
@AllAboutMoose Wow, so incredible! Even though it was unnerving at the time, i'm sure it was worth it for the experience! not everybody can say they have experienced that! :) thank you for a wonderful video!
I enjoyed it very much actually. This was the first year I carried a video camera with me. For next season I plan to upgrade my microphone to one that is more directional... that should mean better quality sound. I just hope the wolves co-operate and sing for me then too! lol
@AllAboutMoose The f#$%? noooo way would I trapse around without a pistol or atleast a brush gun in wolf country. that stuff just isn't happening like that lol. let alone all the bears in canada.
@AllAboutMoose I kinda think they are pretty much afraid of people in my country......they been getting shot at for years up there regardless of the law. This season is actually better for the wolves in the long run. It teaches them that people are bad news and thats what we want. They are not pets like some of the wolf worshippers think and we really don't want them thinking people are interesting things to investigate. Its nice for people to be able to shoot them legally, for sure.
Yes, there are lots of them. In some areas they have been hitting the moose herds pretty hard. The gov't changed the wolf season this year in some areas to: No Bag Limit & No Closed Season... We can only hope that hunters and trapper will take advantage of this.
Ya, I know it was lame... LOL... but I tried! Notice it didn't deter the wolves at all, as a matter of fact the one doing all the barking actually moved closer.

@MatWol41 I'm narrow minded? LOL okay. You are just an ignorant fool who laps up the lies spoon fed to you from Defenders of Wildlife. How pathetic!!
