Sounds like junk, and no back pressure-due to no muffler- which means no power! And if you had bigger tips it'd be deeper sound. I bet you still have the stock true duals with 2.25 inch pipe, and stock intake, ao you aren't getting the right air to fuel ratio with that wide open exhaust. I can go on and on. But I'll quit now.

@uneasyrider96 they will still run but the air fuel ratio will be off because the computer is trying to cancel out the input from the missing o2 sensor. it will just run lean. other than that. no problems

you have to own this style of engine to understand. chaning the intake on a 5L or 5.7L vortec engine actully makes you loose the acceleration factor.

When u straight pipe u lose a little bit of low end power but as long as u use the right size pipe u wont even notice it. Its not gonna fuck with ur motor but I would keep the cat in so u have a little more back pressure

Not really unless you go too open. Not having enough beckpreasure will cause your cats to go bad/ plug up, And you will have issues with the valve timing from what I heard. Your exhaust cycle will overlap or interfear with your intake cycle. Thats just stuff ive heard from others running too unrestricted.

uhhh lol taking off your cats increases gas milage, they were not put there for performance but to reduce smog, all it is to your performance is constrict airflow. but an aftermarket muffler does improve milage, no muffler is good too IF AND ONLY IF your exhaust still creates a decent amount of backpressure, now whats a decent amount? it varies with the engine in the truck and what it was made for.

And also we pretty much have the same truck other than mine is a '99 and i have mufflers now,

Right now I put the stock manifolds back on because the gasket blew due to the headers don't match my old 200K block. It's a stock 3" single with no cat and an 18" glasspack and turndown. It's as loud as straight pipes but it has backpressure and it's not blatty. When I rebuild a 4bbl 350 and drop it in, i'll use the headers.

I just had my exhaust done for $40 total. It's a catless 3" single exhaust with a Summit Racing 18" glasspack and turndown before the axle. It sounds like straight piped but without the annoying blatty bogging down sound. It's loud when I really get on it but quiet when cruising and light acceleration. I'll get vids up when I get a camera available.

That's as loud as mine, I got a 95 Sierra with the 305. Mine has Hooker Shorties, stock y-pipe and catless 3" single exhaust with no muffler just a turndown before the axle. It sounds mean and loud but I want it a bit quieter and deeper so i'm putting on a Super 44 and 2.5" tails with 3.5" tips. I can't wait to hear it after it's done.
