i just got back from a trip to graceland!! it was pretty cool. elvis didn't even have such a big house.. but nice planes and nice cars for sure. i loved reading the newspaper articles that were slamming him when he just got famous; he got some bad critiques in the beginning :) i had listened to a lot of his music before coming, and i didnt expect it but i was moved to see his grave and walk around where he used to live.
@sexybrunetteify well the main building has like 5 or 6, then there was an office building, a building for all his cars, a building for relaxing with a piano and raquetball court.. so i dont think so. you can't see his bedroom, that's upstairs. but you can go in the basement where there is a game room and tv room and pool room. the grave is outside by the pool/reflexion area. there's also stables.

@AQuesnel1234 He initially opposed drugs and drinking (and smoking, I think). However, he was issued some drugs on prescription, got addicted to the stuff, and got more "on prescription." Considering how his life was going at the time, it might have been justified *at first*, might not have (a sh*tty manager making sh*tty decisions, some family trouble, etc). Then his diet (which was somewhat healthy before as per Graceland food inventory) went downhill too. Really sad.

People were changing music and Jimi Hendrix was one of them and if he survived in 1970 he would have been bigger than Elvis. I disagree that I stand alone on this notion. Jimi Hendrix was only 27 when he died but he was already a legend in his own life time. Hendrix was influenced by other musicians but other became influenced by Hendrix and music changed again again........

@hcclemI well he should have changed his manager, because Parker only wanted to milk his cash cow until the very end, he never was fully aware of the huge talent that Elvis had, with somebody else TCB it is more than certain that Elvis wouldnt have faded away the way he did at the very end. His carrier would have turned to yet another peak had he fired this guy and not hang on to him. he was just sick and tired of the same old staff he was asked to do
