completely rip out the factory exhausts, and throw away... i used 2.5" pipe right the way thru from the crappy log manifolds, used two coby mufflers 'bout half way and two free flowing sports mufflers at the rear, and honestly it freed up about 20 ponies, now i just gotta build some custom extractors to free up a few more ponies

I hate how for the SC400/Soarer, Toyota went out of their way to dampen the sound of thay rumbling V8.

They put on the most constrictive headers, crappy y-pipe, more cats and resonators than i have fingers, and shitty mufflers.

Yeah, they made them boring for the market I believe. Quite funny when you think about their potential. In USA at least they had 2 less mufflers so where a bit sportier when new.

Thanks. A stock exhaust is 100% silent and boring, sounds like nothing, there is a tiny hint of a V8 sound around 4500-5000 rpm but its extremely quiet.

No prob, Just to note the Lexus SC400 US spec ones do have a nice enough factory V8 sound, since they have 2 less mufflers than the Japanese versions. Cheers Mate.

The Jap ones have 2 cats, a Single resonator and four mufflers at the back so a total of 5. The US spec Lexus ones have 2 cats, a single resonator and two rear mufflers, so only 3 mufflers.

Nah, cat back 2.25" with lukey mufflers. straight through.

2.25" Pipe from cat converters either side to lukey mufflers. If I still had the car I would have but in some resonators and a H pipe though. What did you think of the sound from this video?
