Did my exams on one of these at London College of Printing...honeycomb mounted stereos and mechanical (Pimaton) overlays! Printing was a real art back then!
Im just learning to use one of these and need help please. my creases are cracking really bad, so i have to back the pressure right off, remove all packing sheets from under the chase plate and then pack behind all the knife cuts with shimm tape. This is a pain in the ass. Is there any thing i could do??
Excellent video. Glad to see that there's one that hasnt been butchered down to a cutter and creaser. I really loved running this machine in my apprenticeship.
@vickozoomba I'm with you on that one. I used a double crown cylinder in college in Exeter '77-81, also vertical miehle, heidelberg & thompson crown platens. They had a quad. crown wharfdale cylinder they could'nt give away, smashed up on site. Sacrilege!
I operate this for a living, we have 6 at the company i work for, 2 converted for frame cutting

@sdennis790 what depth are your crease tools? i cant remember the depth we use, tend to leave packing to a minimum if it cuts through
