When china, or North Korea, or Russia, or Iran challenge America, they run, hide, send other NATO's to fight for them. They use propaganda to fight their enemies. Making news reports and T.V shows about the countries they are 'saving' saying 'this is what this country is due to [terrorism, communism, war etc]" But what they show is the slums. They'll take a 5 minute video of the poorest place in Iraq and say it's the best, richest place. It'd be like saying the slum's on NYC is the best of USA
As an iRanian I am very angery that the largest opposition who was forced to give up their guns/tanks... by the USA are being killed in camp ashraf, iraq. They have a document saying the USA will assure their protection forever. Two treaties that usa gave them. Now iraq is killing these unarmed men and women.. run over them with USA humvey. Speak out that the UN and USA must protect the 3500 brave iranians that have fought this regime for 30 years.

I sort of agree. I want Canada to stay an active member of world defence, but right now nato is basically US controlled. So if this is how NATO continues I would prefer if Canada leaves NATO. Atleast until America loses control over it. And it becomes an actual world defence union, at the moment it is a war union.

I don't see the SCO as composed of "strange bedfellows". Several of its members were in the same state for the better part of a century.
Iran is as already as close to the fire as a country can get without actually being invaded yet, so its wanting to join the SCO is understandable.
Subordinate relationship? What rival treaty organisation do you see as a model of equality? UN? EU? NATO?
