@xjdd4 the terminal command connects your computer to your iphone via secure shell and it enables it to pass commands to your device. windows can't do that as easily as it's not a unix-like system. just download & use some linux distro. probably the most convenient & easy way.

@NoahsMommyy With this version you need to be connected to your computer when you run Open iBoot. There should be an update coming out soon though that installs everything, even iBoot in 1 step.

@WadeTheKid Sweet because I'm having a runtime error 53, which I don't understand even though I've looked it up in a few posts. They all just say "wait for an update" without actually explaining where the error comes from.

@WadeTheKid no you cannot - the iPhone 3GS has a new bootrom (only the very first ones dont), so you cant boot android.

Hey. I was curious if it depended on the baseband or the firmware only because I have firmware 3.1.2 but my baseband is from the iOS4 5.13

@MrAndrewDuong I dont believe it depends on the baseband. When I made this video I was back and forth between 4.0 and 3.1.2 and never really had an issue when i was downgraded to 3.1.x

I have a 3.1.3 spirit jailbroken 3GS. I don't know how to downgrade to 3.1.2

@cwence3 Youll need to create a custom 3.1.2 firmware file to downgrade back, but unfortunately this program will not work with windows yet.

hi mate. just wandering whether you need to be connected to a PC to boot into Android? once iBoot is installed can you boot into either iphone Os or iDroid at will? is battery when running the iphone OS bad too with iDroid there? cheers mate. Josh

@jtlm06 Unfortunately with thie version of iBoot and iDroid it does not actually install iBoot on to the device, so you do have to be connected to your computer with iBoot each time you want to load into Android. An update will be coming out soon for iBoot though which will allow you to switch OS right from the phone. And battery life is fine with Android on it, doesnt really affect it.

@iphoneAndy exactly what @kwonooo said, this particular method is for 3G only. You can get Android on 3GS, but their is a different method.

if you have 2,1_3.1.2 this is firmware for 3GS,iphodroid is only for 3G and firmware is 1,2_3.1.2

@skakky Try a different version of iphodroid, terminal seems to be waiting too long for a response when that message shows.
