  • good job bro

  • You totally nailed it !

Just partial pinch harmonics were missing.

  • Hey nice playing and tone sounds great. Could you e mail me the patch? Got a pretty good Vai setting if you want?

  • Is good!!

  • mi dai un consiglio xil solo finale sei un grande grazie

  • Damn! almost spot on to my ears!

  • Awesome!

  • Hey man that is a nice tone. Nice one :) I tried to do the same sorta thing but with satch's live tone and a slower backing track. Check it out if ya get 5.

  • Hola! Excellent play. You nailed the entire feel of the song. (not gonna nitpick about the little mistakes.)

Have you considered using a JS-1000 or JS-1200? I think you'll love the sound of those (I've played on JS-100TR and now have the JS-1000BTB.

  • superb , superb , tapping was top class

  • I think you got a bit mixed up at the tapping part, but I'm an asshole pointing that out, because the rest is great! Keep it up! :-)

  • Wow

    Nice tone

  • i have only 2 to say if you will :)

    1. try holding the notes longer, the whole idea of this song the the vibrato and the sustain of the notes, when you abruptlly palm mute it sounds not as good as it could. (by the way if i already speak about your playing, i have to say that you have a pretty clean picking technique!)

    2. what is your gear? (except from the ibanez js obviouslly ><")

  • AWESOMEE!!

  • Very smooth and good cover! Do you recommend this guitar? I heard bad things about the pickups and about the tremolo (edge III).

    I am thinking about buying this JS100, a RG350DX or maybe a ibanez rg1570z

  • @GuitarAriaFreak1010 if you can afford get an rg2500z. prestige or any other rg prestige guitar.

the prestige guitars are a whole another level man... first of all they are made in japan in the same shop that makes the j-custom guitars.

and they have dimarzio\seymour duncan electronics!!!! (the more expensive rg prestige have air nortons and stuff like that while the more affordable ones have some very very cool dimarzio ibz custom pickups.

  • No offence but why destroy a most excellent song? Even I do it more justice

  • @700kotchi You can synch this up with the original. Cooler still, you can synch it halfway through one and it sounds like 2 Satches jamming.

  • 1:18 he jizzed xD awesome cover :)

  • josssssssssssssssssssssssss boss..............

  • Exact tone excellent my friend!

  • Muy buena interpretación...Daniel.

  • whats the main pedal, for the tone?

because im prbably getting a boss ds1, but idk

you have his tone here my friend.

  • At 1:16, why do you cover the other strings with your first 2 fingers?

  • Because I move the right hand off the strings in order to increase the volume while trying to keep these strings without making any noise. I make it sometimes... Just to keep the thing without unwanted noise.

  • can u send me the presets from guitar rig?

  • I think the tone needs a little more reverb, echo, if ya know what i mean, Could u send me the patch?? Please

  • Nice headphones and nice guitar man

  • duude whyd u kill the tapping bit like that? and dont get so excited to play more notes than u shud! the feel was nice and the tone was great.. but some of the timing was horrible.. if only u picked it up more seriously.. 3/5

  • may i ask what the delay settings were? i couldn't see them clearly at the end

  • hey , GREAT job... what are your settings for the TS? and Whats your background? music lessons, music theory classes? i'm trying to figure out what to do next...

  • All the settings used can be seen at the end of the video ;)

The TS is set volume:5, tone: 2, drive:5 (aproximately).

I've never get a real guitar lesson in my life, LOL!!! Most of the time I've learned just playing it and reading some books about chords and scales and that stuff or some friends, but never had a teacher.

The best advice I can give is just to get a good and versatile guitar and just play every day, anything, but always trying to "feel" your sounds and enjoying the instrument.

  • Of course, working with a teacher will make you progress faster (the faster the better is the teacher :) ).

I find very useful to understand basic music theory just to be able to speak with other musicians in the same language and to make you discover new concepts (what means new sounds). Use this theory with the guitar to understand chords formulas and scales degrees. But always, trying to record these sounds in your mind, as these will be your main guitar vocabulary.

    Hope to help!

  • THX!

  • Man get a band now now now! jaja and by the way a js1200

  • Man, you play with feelings that makes your cover the best in YT in my point.

  • Comment removed

  • nice, Brain May Vibrato!!

  • you got the best guitar tone on youtube...

  • is there any problem if i tune my js100 to drop d?

because a guy on a local guitar store told me i shouldnt.

    please answer!!

  • Well, the only thing to think about when trying different tunings is the new behaviour of the strings because the loss of tension.

Remember "the Gold Rule": if it sounds good, then it's good.

  • ok thanks im just afraid that it messes up with the guitar

  • i watched all your 'trying to get the tone ... ' videos and my question is, without prejudice and wanting to run you down, - WHY NOT GET YER OWN TONE? What's the point in chasing some other folks' tone? It is fun for some time, but then you're just another player who maybe brilliant, but has nothing of his own to the music he's playing. I hope you get your tone, or if you have one, I want the videos ;) Peace.

  • because satch has nice tone.

  • My tone? :) Just a Crybaby 535Q, Boss CS-3, Boss NS-2, Ibanez TS-9, Boss DS-1, Boss DD-7 and the Marshall. With the Jem it really sounds great! ;)

  • I'll try to record something with that... :)

  • Very characteristic vibrato, nice.

  • Todo suena muy bien. Algunas partes las tocas mas rapido que la version original, pero no suenan mal para nada. Y como dices, esta es tu version personal. Me gusta mucho; sobre todo el tono. Bien hecho! Saludos desde los EEUU. Suerte!

  • i have a guitar rig 3 software,,

can i connect the guitar like this??

guitar - cable - boss gt-8 (without using any effect) - midi to midi cable - computer.

  • can i use guitar rig 3 without its footswitch??

  • yes u can xd

  • can i get that software (full) for free ???

    i mean..can i download that??

  • u can download it for free and full ... just use google xd

  • can you tell me how to make sound like that??

  • 1:19

    he's crying,,hahaha...

    nice play

  • I really like your videos, I just subscribed, you should post more. :D

  • can i get your settings?

  • I must say that you have a very interesting right hand technique!

  • abit more reverb and i think it wud sound better but thats how i play it anyway

  • What pickups does the JS-100 come stock with?

  • INF-1,,INF-2

    JS1000 : Dimarzio PAFpro

    JS1200 : Dimarzio PAFpro

  • Ah.

Incredible playing by the way :) And yeah, the tone is almost exact.

  • T E R R I B L E !!!! hahah NEED lesson...

  • the guitar has a great part in your tone....

  • Really good tone and playing! Can't wait for my guitar rig 3 to get here.

It's a little different from the record in that it's not so piercing. So I think this is better.

  • Beautifull. Nailed it. Have you ever heard Carlos Vamos play it? Its not a clone but its good. Check it out

  • Well done mate. It sounds beautiful.

The best cover of this track that I listen to on youtobe.

Keep on this way and you´ll reach the top !!

  • Thanks for the comments, mates! :)

  • Hey.. very beautiful cover. I have a very "thin" sounding tone when i play the higher frets and string and crazy bass when i play the lower strings. I have my bass knob almost at 2 for bass. How would i go about making these two "switch" so to speak. Cause i want less bass lows and less thinness in my lead lines. Thankkks in advance = D

  • I would try moving the pickup a little, letting it closer to the thinner strings (2 mm or so)and far from the fat ones (4 or 5 mm). Play a little with it.

Also, you can use any kind of parametric EQ to model the sound. Once you have your guitar sounding good, the EQ is an easy way to make the sound to paste well in the mix.

  • Excuse me if you were talking about the Guitar Rig settings only! In this case, don't touch the guitar! :)

The harshy sound of this distorsion come from the DS-1 emulation (distortion effect) you can lower a litter the tone control to get a softer effect in the highs. Also, I would try to set the bass to 0 in the amp, perhaps a little more of mids and the highs to your taste depending on the distortion setup. Hope to help.

  • well done - your performance of that all time classic was stellar. I have have been trying to emulate that sort of tone so thanks for divulging your rig 3 settings. I think though that the EQ has a big part to play in the sound you have achieved and think I will need to incorporate EQ to come close. Would you agree? There are many raves on the internet about the EQ pluggin you used (sonnox) does this provide a much better result than the EQ's provided with Guitar Rig?

    Cheers Bro

  • The Sonnox EQ plugin is just a mix/master oriententated plugin and it has its own personality with the sound. It's a really good plugin for general purpose EQ with any kind of sound in a rock kind mix.

The EQ in Guitar Rig is very very simple and doesn't offer so much as the Sonnox.

But in this exact tone, as you can see at the end of video, the Sonnox EQ hasn't so much impact in the sound! It just cuts the bass and the very highs, letting untouched the rest of frequencies.

  • Cheers Bro - I'll have a play with the trial version of that EQ.

  • awesome vid... think about maybe slowing that tapping down a tad to match with the tempo of the song... 5 stars

  • you're right, I'm out of time there... :)

  • very, very, very good.. this tone is perfect!! congratulations... You is great!!

  • hey man, that tone is pretty nice. I ve been trying to get his tone too. yours is almost spot on, but i think u need to turn the tone knob little more so its more crispy. but it sounds awesome!

  • awesome man

  • that was awesome man! great tone and playing. I just started using guitar rig myself. any chance you could let me know about your settings?

  • after seen u play a js100 i thought o great. another old man who is gonna attemp a song but man i was wrong. this is absolutely amazing. ur sense of tone is really awesome and now im planning on buyin that guitar rig. despite ur lesser-quality axe, u made that thing sound more professional than any other videos ive seen. it was all spot on, and the shred break downs were really entertaining and kept all our attentions. really great keep um cumin bro

  • very nice man

  • Wow I have to say that was very well played. Came in expecting another amateurish performance but that blew me away. Again, very well done!

  • I like some of the bits you changed to make it your own, like the fast bit at 2:35, but other I like Satch's better. Good job though.

  • did you do anything to the guitar, or is this straight out of the box?

  • I just adjusted it a little to find a good setup for me. All the guitar parts are the original ones. It's "straight out of the box"! :)

  • You're amazing! 5 stars.

  • First part is cooler than Joe's :-)

Thx for the Rig 3 settings, i will try it but i think most part of the great sound comes out of YOUR fingers.

thx man, i enjoy it so much :-)

  • La Makina!
