Hi David its eric im jacks nephew. u had a lesson with me and my mom today and i just wanted to say thank you and i had a blast. o and im now hooked on pottery!!!!!
thank you for the compliment. I've found, and had it pounded into my memory that the most reliable tools I have are my fingers. I like to throw with a sponge only, although I do Rib the inside good and flat. Thanks again !
Hey David, if I give you some requests, would you be able to do some demonstrations and post them on youtube for me? I download the videos off youtube and watch them all the time when I'm throwing at school. If you could that would be pretty cool.
When I throw bigger pieces, I always have the bottom too thick on the sides. And when I try to pull it up, the middle and top are too thin, so they buckle as I pull. I looked at a pottery book and I found out I am opening the whole wrong somehow. Would you be willing to do a video about how to correctly open the whole for taller cylinders? Thanks a lot for all the great videos!
ok sure- I can make a video of how I pull up my walls no problem. each person "opens and pulls" a little differently, but ultimately achieving the same goal. what I'll do is throw up a cylinder and cut it open so you can see how I get the material up the wall of the vessel. gimme a couple days to try to get it all into one video.

Beautiful work. I noticed you do not use a rib to shape or refine the bowl. Will you go back and rib it later?
