Before anybody gets upset about what I just wrote, think about Lou's sense of humor. He's the last guy to get worked up about some joshing from a fan, and I'm sure that if he read my message he'd never call me a "scum-sucking whore" or "a rat that crawls out of the gutter to eat the scum off of condoms that were thrown there by the whores."
the question - and reed has known this all along - is, are these just more pop-songs, or do they somehow go on to another generation, another century.

I love Velvet Underground/Lou Reid, but did he sing every song like that? he really put no effort into that at all. I hope he just sang that bad for that song only

What a great guitar sound! Lou does a good job. Really relaxed and a great set-up with just Rob Wasserman and Sernando Saunders on the basses. The end is hilirious with the guy screaming the chorus. Any more clips?
Why he cannot accept Nico was singing songs he wrote much better than he can himself, I don't know. He is still a great artist, regardless. But this leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, to say the least.
Well, of course he can't sing it good now, his voice is shot and he's clearly bored of the original melody. But he was fine at singing it 40 years ago.

I saw Lou few months ago live with his Metal Machine Trio. After the concert he came back on stage to say THANK YOU for listening to his music.
An asshole or whatever you call him would never do that.
If you appreciate his music and not only the person Lou Reed he will appreciate you too.
