@drabmalik65 We also use St Jude's in India as well as other valves like ATS, etc. We also have our own indigenously researched and prodced valve TTK Chitra. The cost is half that of the foreign valves. although it is a tilting disk, it has similar flow dynamics as of St Jude's. The thrombotic incidence is also similar. In poor economic situations, this is a very good valve as mjority of RHD patients come from that background.
Are you sick of this, how long? Can you live as usual? If you have a normal life or shorter? Will it show up problems for themselves operaionen. Is there a risk of dying during the operation or during the recovery period. Can the body support removed, the new mechanical heart valve? Grateful for answers.
Is a Swedish girl of 27 years, which is likely to undergo this kind of surgery, probably within 1-2 years. How long does this kind of surgery. How long can I stay in the hospital, now maybe it is different from country to country
You can live as normal person after this operation. Only thing is that you will have to take oral anticoagulation which will require monthly blood check for regulating the dosage. Surgery will take approx 3 hrs and risk is 6 to 8 %. You can leave the hospital within 7 days in India. You have tocarefl during pregnancy as oral antocoagulants can effect the fetus.
If you have a mechanical heart valve and the noise keeps you awake at night - but DON'T want to use drugs or narcotics to sleep - you can purchase an inexpensive and non-addictive psychoacoustic audio recording with the title "Heartbeat River" at cdbaby.com
@HeartbeatRiver : The TTK Chitra valve is kknown all over the world for its silent action, in act it is the most silent of all mechanical valves in he market. Credit goes to the ingenuity of Indian Biotechnology.
