It's been discussed in length but he manipulated the footage quite a bit, making cuts to make it look like they were talking about prostitution the whole way through when in fact they weren't most of the time, in particular at the point of the vid where she recommends claiming dependents.

It's been discussed in length but he manipulated the footage quite a bit, making cuts to make it look like they were talking about prostitution the whole way through when in fact they weren't most of the time, in particular at the point of the vid where she recommends claiming dependents.

I notice one thing about this video I never hear them say anything about wanting to smuggle underage girls over the boarder for the purposes of prostitution. For what the acorn employ said she could have been talking about the woman's own child or a young woman that was living with her for some other reason. I would really like to hear a video saying that instead of just taking your word for it, not saying your wrong I would just like to see more evidence of what was actually said.

@OldCorpBLT13 Most are not in jail. Some got slaps on the wrist, primarily because they were dumb temp workers trying to make a quick buck by forging voter registration cards. This way, they could have their numbers, but not have to work very hard for the money. And, ACORN reported the false cards.
They're out of business because the right-wing demonized them for a decade and then teamed up with Fox News to put out a con of a video made by an adolescent punk later exposed for what he is.

The second segment was disturbing, because it does clearly show that the one comment was taken out of context; but only the one. Had there been more, I'm sure Maddow would have mentioned it. She even grudgingly admitted that Acorn had committed crimes for which there was no excuse.

The media's role in this country has typically been to scrutinize the material they receive before broadcasting it. Had they done so this footage would never had been amplified and the honest employees of Acorn who did the right thing wouldn't have been fired. O'Keefe is an embodiment of what he claims to be revealing: deception and fraud.

The scary thing is, tons of comments showed that people still believe the ACORN videos were real. They thought that other posters were just making up the the fact that they've been disproven.
