It's in the menu you can access while your playing a song and looking at the album art. I don't have mine if front of me to give you more detail then that, but its in there!
Yeah, Samsung have really got the hang of making mp3 players. I'm thinking of getting this soon.
About the propriety USB thing --> i previously owned a Samsung YP-K3 (GREAT mp3!), and lost the cable for a few months. You can't but it in Australia so i had an awful long time for when i couldn't charge it. Had to order it online eventually.
couldn't find it on the samsung website. do they still sell them? I actually bought on 6 months ago and all of a sudden it stopped working. just won't turn on; not even when hooked up to computer. any suggestions / advice?
Well if it's only 6 months old it should be under its Samsung warranty. But yes, the YP-T9 has been replaced by the YP-T10, and from what I can gather it's actually not as good! It uses an all touch interface, yuck! Hopefully when the YP-T11 comes out it will have buttons, until then Ebay is your friend. This player rocks and I just recently bought one to buy for a friend's B-day
iv fucked mine up how can u reset it to its defult settings
i took the music off it without the software and now the files r stuck on there forever and the music files wont play it says up date pc. PLEASE HELP!!!
Gotta use the included software to convert the file, drag and drop the file into the program and then press sync, it will then prompt you that it will need to convert the video files to play on the T9.
when u bought the mp3 it shouldve came with a cd the cd has the converter inside you need to have windows XP not windows vista after that click install and the converter will install
MINE got into this bluetooth mode and now I can not get out of it.. i like push every single button and it wont do anythin.. can anybody tell me what 2 do? plz
I have read online of this problem happening before. Try resetting the unit. Turn it on, and press and hold the menu and A/B button until the T9 "soft-resets". Hope that helps.
Sounds like you have a defective unit, please contact Samsung to have the unit replaced/repaired. You will need the items serial number handy, so make sure you have that. If not try and return it to the store you bought it at, that might be the simplest thing for you to do.
one little problem with mine is how easily the screen scratches so invest in a case. reason for scratches according to samsung light soft plastics for weight reasons!
Consult the mp3 player instructions (which I believe are also posted on Samsung's website). I actually have never used the feature myself. If I had to guess, I bet it only supports simple text files from Notepad and Wordpad.
Yes. The Clix was certainly one of the mp3 players I looked at before getting this player and it falls short because of its size, price tag and lack of some features which are very nice to have on a player of this size.
Also few mp3 players have the exponential fast-foward feature, that makes zooming through a audio-book/podcast, easy. You can also bookmark mp3 files, and it will let you skip from bookmark to bookmark.
BTW, if you can edit the PRJ file in the install directory, you can adjust the SVI converter in Samsung Media center to reduce video from something like 500Kbit to 96Kbit vid and 64Kbit audio.. That's 128Kbit (same as mp3 audio). I've computed I can stuff 24 hours of video on a 2GB player!! I've already stuffed the Blues Brothers movie, without this trick into 500megs on this.
I just got it yesterday! Amazing little machine. The text function is seriously great for cheating on my french test. And I listen to it during Art and French. The size is amazing great! Thin and compact. Small than my small palm. And I was watching RedLine in Humanities haha.
This is an amazing player and as you can tell, I recommend it! The player has literally crashed on me once in the hundreds of hours I've used it. And holding down two buttons got it to reset. Its basically flawless IMO.
The e250's also only support MJPEG as a native video format. I've been told it will only play up to 15 minutes for a movie, without modifications. The Samsung uses MPEG4.. I've suffed hundreds of music videos on my 2GB version. 4 GB should be real cool, as I tend to bloat mine with 2GB of podcasts..
Take the SVI Videos this player takes, rename to AVI, and play on Windows, it's just a basic AVI video format, the videos are encoded with XVID open source codec.. Firmware updates will allow you to play OGG Vorbis files (an open source audio codec). However to use with Linux you need to use asian firmware updates.
Major differences between this and the Sansa players: Flash based Interface, It uses MP4 for Video instead of MJPEG, Contrast ratio on the T9 is beyond the Sansa..
Consult Samsungs online FAQs for the YP-T9. I may be wrong. But from what I remember you add the video to your video list in the program, and then simply select to transfer them, it will then ask you to convert them before transfer.
hey im getting one of those! cant wait!...this was the best review ive seen yet and ive already seen about 7(beside the phone call lol) i give you a 9.9/10 for your review!
HEY GUYS do u think 2GB is enough?? I couldnt find a 4GB here in Bahrain, theres only 2 available, and stupid amazon only only ships the 4GB with in the US! thats crap! I dont know what to do. I want 4GB but I cant find any. I found in amazon uk the bluetooth wireless but i dont want that DAMN WHAT TO DO!?

yes i completely agree with you...i just got the t9 2 gig yesterday and its amazing...i was hopeing for the sansa but im glad i didnt get it after what you said about it..and the screen on the t9 is amazing
Haha, very entertaining review. You don't hold back on things you really like about it and I
like your comment on text viewing: "that might be helpful, I don't know" :) I seems very natural like you're just talking with no rehearsing (as we can see with your "suckage" on the flash game). Normally I'd say it's unprofessional to take a phone call during a review but it was funny.
hi. i jst got a yp-t9 recently, and i was wondering if yu had any problems uploading music into it, bc on the 1st try i got music in, but after that it never goes through >:(

Make sure your using the latest version of the player. It shouldn't give you codec errors because your not using it to play the music files, just sync them to the player under the Sync tab. If you can't get it to work ill post a video just for you about how I do it.
Hell that is the sweetest review ive ever seen!! hehe but really i mean i was thinkin about getting one but then i saw the mp3 phone SGH-F300 n i was like "I WANT THIS NOW!" i dont know i kinda like it, what do u guys think of it??? and whats this wheel u guys been talkin about?? Lol :P
For me the major turn off was its screen and yeah the wheel, it just wasn't smooth enough, and I just knew I'd get tired of messing with it in no time so I returned it.
That was funny, I didn't expect a phone call in the middle of this. Great review, I have a Zen Vision M myself. That looks like a great device though. It's funny because i'd bet that it plays better then an Ipod. Always gonna stay subscribed - keep gettin cool stuff!
