I adore Buddy Guy. Been to 3 of his last 5 birthday parties. I will say to all of you blues fans. I love blues as well but the greatest person to pick up a guitar is without question Tony Rice.
@pastelitoblues No tienes que ofender, tenías que ser argentino, Ya sé que es inalámbrica pero si te fijas bien, moron, no se le ve salida desde el jack de la guitarra.
Buddy Guy just ripping man! But the crazy thing is if some young white guy got and play the same thing as either of these guys, some shit-ass Bluez Nazi would have some negative comment to make.
Buddy was playing with his teeth and behind the back before Jimmy or Stevie Ray ever made it to the big stage. Also, Eric Clapton has said many times that Buddy was and always will be his favorite blues guitarist.
best place to see Mr.Guy imho is at his club Legends..in chicago..its so close and you definitely know you are in a blues club...its funny mostly all young folks who say this guy or that guy is 'better' than Buddy are only going by one or two youtube videos of Buddy..i showed a young guitarist here a short clip of Buddy tearin' it up.he had never heard of Buddy til then..he was like wow!! damnnnnnnnn hes tough..then he wrote buddy's name down and said he was gonna show his band..
And, I just found out that I play the same brand of amp as buddy and ric did in this video (chicago blues boxes), and I think I have rics same model. Buddy has his own signature model.
Nonetheless, their tone is great, and this is just a great video.
dude i was there for the first time just last week, awsome place, saw luriie bell play too and some singer called tommy mckracken who was really rockin too. Great place.
I saw Buddy in July for the third time. He barely ever comes to Vermont, but when he does, he fuckin' rocks. Ric was playing amazingly in Hoochie Coochie man and it was probably one of the best concerts I've seen.
he probably would, he'd get down on his knees and beg.Don't get me wrong, Frusciante's good, he's very clever in his riffage, but he's not quite like Buddy Guy. He's a different style of player, too.
Wow, Frusciante is great, but even close to Buddy Guy. They shouldn't even be mentioned in the same conversation. I wonder how old you are, what your musical knowlege is. I graduated from the same school as Frusciante and every instructor there is better than him. You should learn more about music before you make a comment like that. If you want to argue music I will I had same teachers as Fruciante. Let me know when you are ready to be schooled.

please i never even said that frusciante was better. though he is by far
he has more heart more skill more knowledge and more creativity not to mention he writes better music
yeah buddy is better at blues and thats about it
if you really believe that buddy has more skill than frusciante you need to watch more videos and read more because frusciante is god and buddy can kneel before him
1. Frusciante may have better technique, but technique is a means to an end, not the end, therefore it is nearly irrelevant.
2. Buddy Guy was self taught, Frusciante and other players have built of the backs of the likes of Buddy Guy.
3. They play way different styles, so a comparison is hard, but Buddy Guy had a lot of sort of funkier stuff, so i tihnk he could probably match Frusiciante.
4. I doubt that Frusciante would make such claims, he is more humble.
Huh?? Wait, so you're telling me Hendrix isn't a god? And SRV isn't a god? And it was a figure of speech you moron. Oh and btw, I'm sure if Frusciante ever heard you saying that blues guitarists aren't great, he would slap you in the face. Go away and keep your ignorant comments in the Chili Peppers videos, where I won't read them.
godamn it. it was sarcasm asswipe! frusciante would kick the shit out of you if he heard you saying Blues guitarists arent good. his main influences ar ethese great blues people. Chilli Peppers are GREAT i LOVE them! BUt you cant compare Frusciante as a guitarist to Buddy guy and Eric Clapton.
wow, that other guy, rick hall or whatever, was playing some repetitive stuff. i don't know what he sounds like playing other stuff. but if i had to judge by this video alone, he doesn't even deserve to be up there with the great buddy guy.
Ric Hall is a great guitarist worthy of cutting heads with Buddy. Check out his website at www.ricjazguitar.com He's also a really great guy to talk to and signs autographs for fans unlike Buddy as of lately.
Ric Hall, great playing
