The way I see it, the movie brings up a more realistic persona of Max. The mischievous, unethical kind of child who isn't fully understood.

The book brings up a more fictitious personality.

When I read the book I was like 6 and when I saw the movie it made me cry at how much max was like me and i guess thats why i loved the book so much, the movie i think like ssaid before was more ment for the people who read the book as a kid and now see the movei rather then kids who are reading it now....

listen. it's not a kids movie but whatever. No movie they make pleases everyone who read the book, and it takes an intellectual person to still mark the movie as a beautiful work of art. If this movie didn't move you, make you cry, laugh, or smile then you are the one who needs help. The filming was amazing, the soundtrack, actors, and plot. It showed the true meaning of the book in a beautiful way. So DONT say it was disappointing because it wasnt exactly the same as when you were 3 YEARS OLD.
