  • At 0:26, an evil grin struck my face >=)

This is an awesome composition, and I love the Divine Comedy - what a sensual thrill and stimulating allegory! Something like this would be a great score for the Inferno, no doubt!

Btw, the poem is much more epic than the silly video game, haha.

  • VERY GOOD LIBRETTO !! I like your (wb) composing very much ... !!!

  • this is gonna haunt me

  • @scarymovielover7286 I hope in a good way!

  • @WannaBeComposer not in a good way bro....not in a good way....

  • Lucifer only wants one thing..............To feast on your flesh and bones.

  • lies for what king is locked in his own kingdom weeping from the pain of his own torment but a false one

  • in this book dante depcited his satan to be giaNT AND HAVE WINGS AND WAS DARK BLACK

  • A good exercise. You have used a lot of illustrations, from Botticelli to Blake, with an interesting association with sound effects.

  • 0:40 that looks like cuthulhu then satan

  • @fthis12345 Please tell me your not serious... the makers of god of fucking war made this you dumbass... yea lets watch them sue themselves

  • @fthis12345 Do you even realize that the game was inspired by the Divine Comedy, a centuries old poem?

This is talking about literature, not a silly M game.

  • Oh yeah and they were both considered as beings, not places.

  • Hades=Greek mythology

    Pluto=Roman mythology

  • Wow, you can just imagine falling into Cocytus as this plays...

  • Many people will see.

  • people this is HADES!!! hes the lord of the dead! thats a reason why he looks so evil!!

  • Hades is definitly not the same thing as the devil

  • Thats Mythology

This is kinda different from Mythology.

  • no no actually im fairly sure that hades is the place that dead people go

the lord of that place is Pluto

    greek mythology look it up

  • @10Dante4 Pluto is called Hades in greek mythology, Pluto is Hades in Roman mythology which is basically the same as Greek but they changed their gods' names.

  • hades was the greek god who controlled the underworld, pluto is greek

  • why do they always make so evil what if he's not?? who said he was evil? a book? it got written by a guy on weed? do we believe what they wrote in those days? did someone invisible said ''look he looks like a old guy with horn and black wings'' HOW is the question and WHY

  • @igadevivas from wat i'm getting from your comment is that ur an atheist correct? the dark lord shown here is Hades, the Greek's Satan, or Lord of the Underworld, people believed he looked like a human but with evil features, there's always good and bad in the world, a lord of good, and a lord of bad, i'm Catholic, so i believe that there is an evil one and a holy one, but all people have their opinions, i think this answered ur question, if not, then ask

  • @NicktheCrises Actually, these pictures depict Dante's Satan, not Hades (who, as I understand it, wasn't all that bad of a guy). Turns out, Dante REALLY hated betrayal, so he put Cassius, Brutus (the two conspirators who killed the tyrant Caesar) and Judas at the lowest circle of hell where they are eternally "eaten" by the three heads of Satan. O_O

  • @WannaBeComposer Hypocrites were a close second, they were one level above the traitors, trapped within a colosseum where their feet were poked for all eternity.

  • @portal1337 lol oh noes my feet are poked *giggle* stop it that tickles!! rofl

  • @LaggCentral with spears of course :P

  • @WannaBeComposer i just had a thought was it hades who had control over the cerberus? which i think has 3 heads in most depictitions and as religions seem to have similarities you could say that hades is the lord of the underworld and has power over satan. which would kinda make sense as hades needs a "loyal watchdog" to look after the underworld

  • @WannaBeComposer

:o where did you find that info, really want to learn more about it now, sounds very interesting.

  • @Velderik @Velderik Sure! There's a wiki on Dante's version of Satan: wiki/Dante's_Satan The wiki on Hades is also interesting. Here's a quote: "Despite modern connotations of death as evil, Hades was actually more altruistically inclined in mythology. Hades was often portrayed as passive rather than evil; his role was often maintaining relative balance."

  • @NicktheCrises Hades was not considered their Satan, but he did have evil features which made them fear him. He was actually a very kind god, but very greedy, which most gods are.

  • @NicktheCrises Hades is not the lord of bad... He's the lord of the dead.... it does not mean he's bad.... he is just the presient of the underworld, he admits dead souls..... When greeks die, the believe that the will just be swirling in a very slow pool of dead water.... unteil they get reincarnated again..

  • @NicktheCrises what is Catholic?

  • @DanteTrishVergil

Catholic is the main and first branch of the Christian religion, ppl soon began to feel it was too strict so they made other branches including protestants, lutherans, etc. i hope this answers ur question

  • @NicktheCrises so is like......u guys are under Christian but different family right?

  • @DanteTrishVergil

    exactly

  • @NicktheCrises another type of Christian?

  • @NicktheCrises

Hades wasn't a bad guy, he was just the ruler of the underworld, he wasn't sent there for punishment. Zeus, Poseidon, and Hades drew lots and obviously got the bad end.

  • @igadevivas lol nobody here cares if you believe in science or not everybody is just here because hell has cool looking stuff in it and we all know this we just dont want to admit it

  • i wasn't saying '' hey do you care what i say listen'' and ofcourse is hell cool

  • @igadevivas LOL

  • @igadevivas No drugs were back then.

  • @0Beautifulbrutality0 I really hope that was sarcasm. Drugs have existed for a very very long time. It is a common idea that Greek oracles were on a type of LSD when they gave their predictions. Of course what really conspired is beyond our comprehension. Even the bible talks against Soothsaying, magic and other things things we today take as myth as we rely more and more on technology than the natural world.

  • @TheHunterRavine No sarcasm but that's your problem relying on science rather than that of the natural world but science does. Without the natural the world will cease to exist.

  • @0Beautifulbrutality0 Are you serious? :)) Drugs have existed for a long time and a lot of retards back then believed that some plants or some mixtures that were somewhat like drugs at the time were giving them revelations. In truth it was just their twisted minds that was speaking out loud, their imagination cut loose because of the drugs effect.

  • @beliar2005 Drugs have only began around the medieval centuries at that.

  • interesting song know the name of it?

  • It's "Dark King Revealed." I should know, I wrote it! :P

  • @WannaBeComposer

    well u did pretty good

  • What's the name of the song?

  • why didnt my copy of the book have pictures

  • someone said (J. Milton) better reign in hell than serve in heaven

  • @BellaBro that was in paridise lost

  • lol. we get to PWN him in dantes inferno game :P

  • yeah its great game but the devil didn't look much like it's usually described to look like. i expected him to look way more sinister and evil. three heads eating the traitors. but like i said great game.

  • @obelisklarvan nope you dont kill him

just freezing hes hands in the ground and you come to heaven with beatrice and it says to be continued

  • Weird pictures. Discusting demons eating humans and angels...

  • disgusting

  • Typed a bit wrong... :|

  • anyone ever read the book? dante is the guy who wrote the book right?

  • correct Dante Alligeri.

  • @redrogae Dante Alighieri

  • Yes, but the dante in the book is totally different from the one who wrote it.

  • @jarjar231 ya...its also from his persepctive

  • yes Dante wrote the Inferno and he is also the main character in it.

  • I love this!

  • By the way, the music is great. The first part was so sweet sounding, yet so eerie. Then the choral sounding part was great too. I thought the percussion sounded a bit awkward. Maybe you could use a lower sounding drum with a softer sound. The sharpness of it sounded out of place. Yet it wasn't...lol. This is just my opinion. I don't have any experiance in composing, I am huge into music though. Five stars =]

  • 1:06, "I feel pretty...oh so pretty..."

  • so pretty and witty and *hell rumbles* GAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!

  • Very good. I too am writing a piece based on Dante's Inferno....I'm doing 1 movement per canto......I decide that before I realized there were 34 cantos in the poem..... -.-

And now, your piece has given me some inspiration for mine :)

  • What is this song where can I find it?

  • It's an original piece I wrote called "Dante's Inferno Part III: Dark King Revealed." Unfortunately I don't have an easy way of distributing the song. You could use one of the youtube sound extractors in the meantime.

  • This is great stuff man! VIdeo and music is awesome...

Very reminiscent of Black Aria by Glen Danzig..which of course, pays homage to another great tale, Milton's Paradise Lost! 5 *'s totally!

  • i'd have to say that 1:11 is the most eye-catching one and as for this song being scary,it sounds more epic ;D

  • great man!

  • beautiful song,

but tell me why is everybody scared of this song?? O.o

  • that is hilarious

  • hmm...so this is what everyone is scared of.

  • judas is a fucking dumbass :L

  • carzy what religion will do to you

  • no shit sherlock ...... lol

  • smierc dla szatana bóg jest gorą i zawsze bedzie lord i grupa lordi

  • Wow I do get kind of scared when I listen to this Great Job!

  • makes u think twice

  • Too bad we can't all pool our money and get Frank Frazetta to illustrate Lucifer in the ninth circle. If you don't know hiw work I highly suggest looking it up! I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good hard back version of The Divine Comedy MINUS the rampant cliff notes and translated in english?!

  • that would be amazing

  • Yes, There are versions from the late 19th century that are just a pure translated copy. I own a copy of paradise (which is the sequel to the inferno) from 1887. If you private messade me your address I may send you it, for I no longe have a use for it.

  • Meh, i liked Robert W. Smiths.. his kicked ass.. lol.. of course we had a marching show of it last year.. lol..

But this is really good, do you have anything like paradisio?? something that would actually fit more with the poem? or what? just wonderin

  • man this is by far the best of the 3 part series. i like the whole series though, very good job WONNABECOMPOSER. Big Ups!!

  • the people that satan is eating on the left and right mouths are Brutus and Cassius who were involved in the assassination of Julius Ceaser and in the middle is Judas who is getting the worst punishment

  • He probably wouldn't be so angry if he just didn't have so many faces.

  • Well, Satan is one pissed off dude. An excellent piece of music for when one feels like a bit of darkness is welcome.

    Truly a macabre beauty.

  • he was exiled from Heaven, and trapped within the ice. Ironic, the King of Hell was once an angel from Heaven. But Satan is what we call "Fallen angel."

and he's stupid, he's forever trapped in the ice, and tries to escape via his wings, but it's his wings that froze Cocytus in the first place.

Oh, and now you can't use the phrase "when Hell freezes over."

  • he likes eating people doesnt he ! lol
