ok i really need an answer to this if anyone could please help me out. i know the esp's and edward's have gotoh tuners but what is the actual name of the tuner like the model of the tuner. im trying to get my LTD alexi 600 yellow stripe to meet the exact specifications of the esp models and the LTD's come with grovers and i dont know the exact name of the tuner so i can get them changed to the right gotohs
@chazyfizle I can't help you with this one, but to be honest you should not worry too much about the tuners. Any kind of Gotoh tuners will do the job. Especially since you have a double locking trem. If you change the electronics and the trem you have pretty much an esp in your hands already. :) Rock on man
@falden82 Hey i have peavey vypyr and yes, i found the 6505 setting, but which is the effect? there is like 12 diffrent effect options, bypass, octaver, phaser, rotory spkr, chorus etc, which one do you use?

@ReaperScythe666 The first option (Bypass) is the one you're searching. lol That's basically "no effect".
It will sound a little different though, since it's not the original 6505 amp. But don't worry I also use the vypyr for practicing and it will sound really cool. Try this on your vypyr: amp:6505 "red" setting, Pre gain: 6 (0-10), low: 5,5, mid: 7,5, high: 5. Effect on bypass. This should sound something like my settings on the real 6505 head.
@maurocob the edwards is cheaper but not by much. you can only buy the edwards off of ebay unless you go to japan and buy it. the edwards cost around $1,500 and the ESP costs around $2,000. really if your going to get it id save up a little while more and get the ESP model cuz for $500 your getting an even more kick ass guitar. the pink and black alexi models from edwards are identical to alexi's custom shop ESP. but all the other edwards models are the same as the LTD. ill PM a link if u want?

@2STManuel i think you should go for an edwards alexi model because LTD and ESP Alexi signatures are sold at way higher prices than they should be... in my opinion dont go for a rr24, if you want to change the pickups with an active later, you can go for a SD Blackout if you want to create your own sound everybody use emgs. :D hope i could help :D
@2STManuel personally id go with the rr24. if you get the jackson your not wearing anyone's name which is a good thing. plus the jackson has an original floyd rose where as the ltd has a floyd rose 1,000. plus the jackson comes with a case and is made in japan not korea like the ltd so the jackson's built quality would be better than the ltd. but hey you buying the guitar not me :( so its up to you. but if it where up to me id go with the jackson.

Hey man, great demo! I have a 6505+ combo and I am looking to get one of the Edwards Laiho sig models. Is this pickup the Alexi signature ALX pickup? Also, could I use an EMG 81 and still get advantage of the EQ and gain boost that is on board on the Alexi models?
@dimgrav I have no clue if an EMG 81 works with the alexi preamp, or not. I think not, coz you should not chain two preamps together... Or who knows... maybe it would sound awesome... :D My pickup is an EMG passive, no clue which. It's not standing on it. haha But what's sure: it kicks ass!!
There is one other difference, that is the body shape!
USA ESP and LTD Alexi models have a longer/larger bottom fin in comparison to the Japanese ESP's or Edwards. Thats coz of the lawsuit or whatever with Jackson. So if you compare pictures of the USA and Japanese models, you can see the difference.

@falden82 the pickups come with a boost on the volume knob the lil switch on the esp are also boost but instead of pullin the volum up and down its easier to use the switch
@jillraydave the ltd is the lowest standard guitars of ESP. the worst they have are made in indonesia and china (alexi 200 for example), the best ltd´s are made in korea (alexi 600 for example). the main market is europe and america. the edwards are made in japan in the same factory the export esp are (standard series) so its basically the same thing. the edwards are only to sell on the asian market and russia and forbidden to sell elsewhere (supposedly). the edwards is a higher series than ltd.
@claimless Nope! Wanna know why? I "deactivated" it in the moment I've got my hands on the guitar. I've sawed a piece of wood to size and fitted it between the body and the back of the tremolo. I have to tune to Dropped and back on stage every second song, and this "act" is obviously impossible to do with a double locking tremolo. So I can't help, sorry.

@baune121 There's such a small difference between the two... The "+" is more versatile of course with the separate EQ an stuff. But the sound is not that different at all.
How do you get THAT sound out of the amp? I play the 5150 plus myself for 5 years now and it never sounded nearly that awesome :-) Never managed to get my clean sound sound clean either.

To get this lead sound isn't that hard, try the settings writen in the video.
If I saw it correctly in your live recording (which is by the way awesome :)) you play the LTD with the EMG pickups. Well it'll never be easy to set this amp really clean with those... They have a really high output, try to turn the volume knob a bit down on the guitar. Maybe then.

@XFrozenmetal Umm i'm affraid i have to disappoint you bro, this guitar is not a baritone at all... But don't worry, it handles low tuning just great. I mean I tried many guitars with Drop B and this one feels without doubt the best. Stays in tune, feels really nice to play on.
And it growls... Ohh! My! God! it sounds mean, haha!

@erickchba2 I love the alexi signature pickup, since its passive i can have it in my DBZ Venom without chaning around on the battery, it sounds like the 81 a bit, but it has a 3 band EQ, so you can switch it around

Now I tuned it down to drop B and use it with 11's.
For drop C I'd try a 10-11 hybrid set (something like .010 .013 .017 .030 .042 .052).

@octavarium2457 don't even waste your time with a rectifier, they don't get good metal sounds unless you have a whole bunch of pedals and mods

If you want a head with no effects/pedals/bla-bla then go for the 6505.
If you like to play with the knobs, you need 3 channels and love boost pedals, effects and so on then the Rectifier is the one for you.
I prefer the 6505 anyways... :)

@falden82 the pickups come with a boost on the volume knob the lil switch on the esp are also boost but instead of pullin the volum up and down its easier to use the switch

What is the difference between Ltd and edwards?

@jillraydave the ltd is the lowest standard guitars of ESP. the worst they have are made in indonesia and china (alexi 200 for example), the best ltd´s are made in korea (alexi 600 for example). the main market is europe and america. the edwards are made in japan in the same factory the export esp are (standard series) so its basically the same thing. the edwards are only to sell on the asian market and russia and forbidden to sell elsewhere (supposedly). the edwards is a higher series than ltd.

@claimless Nope! Wanna know why? I "deactivated" it in the moment I've got my hands on the guitar. I've sawed a piece of wood to size and fitted it between the body and the back of the tremolo. I have to tune to Dropped and back on stage every second song, and this "act" is obviously impossible to do with a double locking tremolo. So I can't help, sorry.

How do think it is on the 6505 ? Can you crank it enough to get a scooped thrash tone ? or do you need a eq or something ?

@baune121 There's such a small difference between the two... The "+" is more versatile of course with the separate EQ an stuff. But the sound is not that different at all.

How do you get THAT sound out of the amp? I play the 5150 plus myself for 5 years now and it never sounded nearly that awesome :-) Never managed to get my clean sound sound clean either.

Hey, thank's a lot! :) Yeah, i actually give guitar lessons 5 days a week for I'm a graduated guitar teacher. ;D
To get this lead sound isn't that hard, try the settings writen in the video.
If I saw it correctly in your live recording (which is by the way awesome :)) you play the LTD with the EMG pickups. Well it'll never be easy to set this amp really clean with those... They have a really high output, try to turn the volume knob a bit down on the guitar. Maybe then.

@XFrozenmetal Umm i'm affraid i have to disappoint you bro, this guitar is not a baritone at all... But don't worry, it handles low tuning just great. I mean I tried many guitars with Drop B and this one feels without doubt the best. Stays in tune, feels really nice to play on.
And it growls... Ohh! My! God! it sounds mean, haha!
Don't hesitate pal, go for it. You'll love it that's for sure.

Btw, whats your opinion about the EMG HZ H4, especially when compared to other pickups such as Seymor JB, and the EMG 81?
OBS: Some ppl say the H4 is a "passive version" of the EMG 81. What do you say about that?

@erickchba2 I love the alexi signature pickup, since its passive i can have it in my DBZ Venom without chaning around on the battery, it sounds like the 81 a bit, but it has a 3 band EQ, so you can switch it around
