I too am trying to figure out why Drudge linked this on his main headline. Everyone being able to vote is a good thing and in my opinion election day should be a national holiday.
Than again what can we expect from Drudge, he cherry picks news stories that fit his ideals.
Just look at whatever national poll shows the closest margin on any given day - that is the one he will claim is the most accurate... even though it changes on a daily basis...
grody311, we would explain our problems with this video if youtube would ever let a comment go through... I posted one about 45 minutes ago and still has not shown up
Drudge Report linked to this. Someone explain to me why voting is bad? Is this trying to prove Obama is a Muslim Communist? Do conservatives even TRY to make cohesive arguments anymore?
Besides, if Republicans didn't muck up the voting process and create 5 hour lines at the polls, people wouldn't have to take off work.
From Wikipedia: Election Day is a legal holiday in some states, including Delaware, Hawaii, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and West Virginia. Some other states have laws that allow workers to take time off from employment without reprisal, and often without loss in pay. If people wish to work for either party on election day, they should be allowed and McCain should actually take a cue from Obama on this one.
Historically in which country? Never was a national holiday in the U.S. Right now, it should take less than an hour to vote. No reason to take a day off from class or work.
jheftorium notice how you get negatives for dragging people to the polls. Not too hard to figure out why now with Drudge traffic on the way. They don't want turnout they prefer the working man stay at work or home.
redirg - you are right about the censorship - nothing I have written has been posted - and I don't have a single filthy word in my text - nor any racist comments - This is shades of things to come when one disagrees with the media.
Stop pretending that these presidents are going to save anything - the only thing you can do is do for yourself, and take charge and make change yourself. Some idiot in a suit isn't going to do that for you - white or black.
Why is this video down? The LAW requires employers to let people off work to vote if they want to vote. This is a Bipartisn message and it's time Some Politician had theballs to say it.
Some of these comments are so silly and I would feel despodent if not for the hope that people DO change and grow up. And yes people who support McCain and Pallin say yes Wii can and AMerican foundational principles DO matter.
I'll be taking the day off to work at my local polling place, handing out Democratic sample ballots to voters on the way in. I live in a critical swing county in a swing state -- Virginia. In my little way I want to help bring it home for Obama, just as in my little way two years ago I helped Jim Webb get elected. And he's proven to be a kick-ass senator!
Americans of all races finally took a stand .I have never shed so many tears for any election like I have for this one.I mean we have been blessed to witness one of the most greatest moments in our history,if not the greatest. And why is that, because we made the difference!!
You are sick in your head Nadia. "Greatest moment in history?" Maybe you should pick up an actual history book. A half-white man getting this far politically due to a maniacal following based on little to nothing isn't all that great.
Oh, so now he's 'half-white'? You're right, that totally diminishes the magnitude of his accomplishment. We all know how much racists love people that at least have a little "white" in them. That's how this country gave us such splendid phrases as "octaroon"
I'll be poll watching on election day, making sure my republican counterpart doesn't challenge every voter who comes out make their mark. Thanks for the day off, boss!
I am going to vote for Obama on election day and then spend the day watching conservative outlets like the Drudge Report whine about the coming Obama Presidency.
What a bunch of pinheaded posters. I'll never forget what my mom taught me "don't count your chickens til they're hatched". Looking at Obama's declining poll numbers it might be a lesson that still needs to be learned.

Historically, Election Day used to be a National Holiday, as manyt had to come from long distances to vote. So Obama is not wrong to ask for it.
