If you watch a Flames game on TV, the commentators are neutral because they're broadcasting to a larger audience and are hired by large TV networks. Radio announcers are normally much more biased, since they're broadcasting (more or less) to their fans exclusively and are hired by local companies. If you listen to any local sports radio announcer covering a game, it will always seem extremely biased.

here's the difference between the two incidents (I'm a wings fan...no dog in this fight)...Berube bumped Jiggy behind the goal in the fractions of a second after he played the puck...Vernon had covered the puck, then got crosschecked in the face after the whistle. Both penalties...and Berube is one of the biggest thugs in the NHL...but his was at least some semblence of a hockey play. The other was a cheap shot worthy of Claude Lemieux himself.

This brings back memories! I was at that game, mostly because my neighbour (who is the commentator) had season tickets and offered them to my dad and I, so we went. Definitely one of the most memorable hockey experiences I've ever had. Heck we even used to rent out a house to German Titov (13 on the Ducks) when he played for Calgary. I feel old now.
