@malcolm9001 Hey thanks for the question. Yes there is a 'spice' called 'time' but it's actually an herb and spelled Thyme. It's a ground cover leafy green, grows just about everywhere. You've probably seen it before, take a look at google images, just type in the word, thyme. Thanks for watching! :)
@loverven Hey, that's awesome, I'm so glad to help, I just had to learn how to make these things because they are my favorite thing to eat by far. I wish I had one for breakfast, I would be a happy girl. :) Let me know if you have any tips to make them more amazing! Thanks for watching.
@MissWynne100 Hey thanks for watching, glad I could help! I find it crazy that there are so few recipes for this online. I had a hard time finding one myself.
@imanixalexis Hey thanks for watching. Breadcrumbs are supoer easy to come by. You can either buy them at most grocery stores, or even better, if you have old bread that you're going to throw out, that has gone stale (and not mouldy) then you can just break them up and voila, breadcrumbs. Hope this helps!
slightly different to how my Jamaican grandma makes hers but the recipe looks nice. Personally I would have used scotch bonnet peppers to get that authentic taste. BTW your very Hot :)
She uses onions, scallions, scotch bonnet, salt, black pepper, garlic salt, all purpose seasoning and jamaican curry powder. The jamaican curry powered has all spice (pimento) in it. Also its best to brown the beef on its own first to drain the excess fat. But as long as it taste good its ok right? :) Do you make any other jamaican foods?
@mixedracenation Hey sorry I didn't see this response. Thanks for the info, I'll have to try draining the fat a little, because it does get a little greasy, but sometimes I have to admit it's good. I love Jamaican food, I make curry chicken, lots of curries, I make this great recipe for hot sauce with Scotch Bonnets, lots of garlic and mango, so good! I'll have a vid for that one online already. What I'm searching for is a recipe for roti shells, I need to learn to make those!
Sorry for not replying til now. The purpose of the breadcrumbs, it soaks up some of the moisture from the stock, and also contributes to breaking down the filling (beef, chicken, veggies) so it changes the texture to more of a paste. Trust me it makes a huge difference. :)
Amazing vid but how do u make the dough? My dough never comes out flaky, please help!

why do you use chicken stock instead of using beef stock
MISSMARIE26 2 years ago
Oh it's just what I had at the time. just a stock of some kind is good, use whatever kind you like. :)

I'm from Toronto, I just loved the beef patties so much that I found a recipe and just started trying to make them.
Have you tried the recipe yet? It's awesome, still have to change a few things, but the flavour is all good.
