HELLO FROM GERMANY;PLEASE EXCUSE ME;YOU TALK GRAET HARM UND NONSES-YOU KNOW THAT THE PREACHERS SAY-THEY CANT HEAL IT IS UP TO JESUS-AND HE SAY PRAY FOR THE SICK-AND THERE ARE SOME GET HEALED ALL OVER THE WORLD--I FEEL SO SORRY FOR YOU-IT WILL BE SO MUCH BETTER ;TO TELL:YES JESUS CAME TO TAKE AWAY THE SINS AND HEAL THE SICK ACCORDING TO HIS WORD
wow, what a mess, this is what happens when the Gospel is compromised and "saved" ppl dont read or studie scripture, it's both infuriating and heatbreaking.
Chronicle: the answers to your first five questions are "yes". The answer to your last question is: because The Father crushed him under His judgement as payment for our sins.
None of this applies to nor legitimizes Todd Bentley in any way. Bentley is a charlatan and a liar who sells a cheap counterfeit calling it God. Use some discernment. If you believe Bentley, you're being shamelessly duped.
Healings and miracles were done to authenticate the message of the Apostles as being from God. (2Cor. 12:12) Jesus healed people, but the Gospel of John makes it clear that Christ didn't commit Himself to those who were only following Him because of the miracles...they didn't follow Him because they knew they needed forgiveness, they followed because they were "Oooo'ed and ahhh'ed" by His miracles...circus Christians is what they were.
And in the context of Isaiah 53, Jesus was whipped and beaten for our sins. He didn't die a painful death just so that you and I could be physically healed. He died so that we could be healed & freed from our sins and saved from God's Judgment/wrath on sin. Don't take Scripture out of context, please...
Ultimately we all will be physically healed when we are with Christ, with God face to face. But in this life, in this world, healing is not a promise.
If it was God's will for everyone to be physically healed, then how come you don't hear or see these so-called "healers" healing people in hospitals? Oh yeah, they need to have them in their superlong worship services first before they can do anything. I don't recall the Apostles doing it like that..
Jesus was clear in the Bible as to why not everyone was healed. He plainly stated "it is because of your lack of faith". Yet, when others were healed he said "your faith has healed you".
@Icannottolerateit Paul was not healed from what? I would say that when a man is stoned and is as dead, and then walks 20 miles the next day, and is bitten by a poisonous snake, shakes it off and continues on with what he was doing, I would say that YES, he was healed of whatever you think he was suffering from.
@JQbono The thorn in his flesh? I thought everyone was familiar with this. Paul directly says God told him he would not be healed of whatever this affliction was in order to keep Paul humble.....
Did I suggest Paul was never healed? No I did not.
@Icannottolerateit Paul's thorn in the flesh was a "spirit" sent to buffet him. To buffet means to slap over & over. Paul's thorn in the flesh was a demon sent to hinder his ministry. Paul's thorn was persecution, not sickness. This is good news, not bad news. We aren't promised to be delivered from persecution but the Word says "by His stripes we are healed", so if we can believe & trust in God's Word, we can be healed. We aren't always healed but that is because we don't believe.
@JQbono Paul NEVER makes it known what this thorn in the flesh was. To say he was tormented by a demon is unfounded.
Why would Paul pray away persecution? He joyed in persecution when he was thrown in jail. What makes him suddenly so weak? Why would the mature Paul pray this away but the just converted Paul loved it?
Why did Elisha die of a disease then? Did he lose his faith? Why did Lazarus die prematurely? Did he not have faith?
@Icannottolerateit If you will notice, Lazarus died before the atonement. But the Lord's will for him wasn't that he die sick, and proof of that is that Jesus went to him and raised him from the dead. Remember the leper? He said "If you will, you can make me clean. Jesus said "I WILL". The Lord is willing, it is up to us if we will receive it. If it wasn't His will to heal us, then why do we even bother asking Him to heal us, after all, we don't want to pray outside of His will
@Icannottolerateit If we keep our cold or virus it is because we accepted what the devil had to say over what God had to say. We are healed in as much as we believe we are healed. Jesus told us why we don't get healed. "It is because of your lack of faith". Also, God does not make born again believers sick, sickness comes from the enemy. Jesus went to the cross to redeem us from the curse. God is always getting blamed for bad stuff.
@Icannottolerateit Christ hadn't yet come and provided our healing, but even so, Elisha must've missed it somewhere.
Paul's said "I have learned to become content in whatsoever state I am in" so regardless of his circumstances he was trusting in Jesus, it wasn't that he loved persecution, it just didn't deter him. Have you not noticed that NONE of the disciples died sick? They had to be martryed, sickness couldn't invade their bodies, their faith in Christ was too strong.
@JQbono Your argument still needs evidence that Elisha lost faith. Christ had not come? Pretty sure Christ still healed people in the Old Testament when he desired and it was done through faith.
Actually Paul also mentions a certain woman that was sick but "God had mercy on her". Meaning God did not have to heal her just because she had lots of faith....
All Christians are not martyred. John, the man who wrote Revelation, shows no indication of being martyred.
@JQbono "As you know, it was because of an illness that I first preached the gospel to you. "Galatians 4:14
The ball is in your court again. You can admit you are wrong like a true humble man
Actually Paul loved persecution because Christ told us to be happy when we are persecuted because of the Gospel. Paul literally sang in prison a few moments after being beaten. This thorn is OBVIOUSLY not persecution because Paul demonstrates how well he takes that type of "buffeting" many times over.
@Icannottolerateit Gal. 4:13-14 Paul is referring to physical effects he had from a stoning (Acts 4:19) & was left for dead. His thorn was a demon assigned to try & hinder his ministry. The word messenger in 2 cor. 12 in greek "aggelos" which means "a messenger, especially an angel". So Paul's thorn is a messenger of satan sent to discredit him because of all the miracles & power associated with his ministry. Also, people were hesitant to accept christianity because of all the persecution
@JQbono If you would like to continue this discussion that is fine, but I cannot continue to make youtube posts, I find it annoying carrying on a debate this way. If you want to continue we can private message through youtube.
Also, I do not follow the ministry of Todd Bentley, I can vaguely remember looking this up and that is how I came to post my original remarks. But I do not vouch for this fellow, I know nothing about him.
Paul was certainly not complaining about persecution. That is one view that makes no sense. Christ said blessed are those that are persecuted. Why would Paul pray away a blessing? That makes no sense. It was obviously something he viewed as a curse, and greater scholars and Christians than both of us have said it was a bodily illness or weakness of some kind.
@Icannottolerateit A demon spirit is not a blessing. You are taking Paul's faith of rejoicing thru persecution out of context. If you look at the preceding vs's in 2 cor.11 you will see he was talking about persecution. I never take what someone tells me about the scriptures & just accept it. I study it for myself. Scholars disagree on Paul's thorn & remember, scholars are the ones who told us that women aren't allowed to wear slacks, makeup or cut their hair. Is that sound doctrine? No.
@Icannottolerateit I am finished with this debate, a study has to be done on this topic, not just an exchange of what someone "told" you. I made up my mind a long time ago that I would allow the Holy Spirit to teach me, not just to receive the word of men on what the scriptures meant to them. I have been taught many wrong things, and now I study, I meditate on the word, and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal His Word's true meaning to me. BLessings to you.
@JQbono Why did you allow Paul to interpret the Old Testament for you? You do realize that is what he was doing in his writings, right? Why did you take the opinion of a MAN?
Why even use the New Testament at all then? Everything they spoke of could be obtained through the Holy Spirit. Why even use a Bible at all? The Holy Spirit does not need a book to function.
Sounds like kingdom theology. making the world a better place for sinners to go to hell from instead of preaching the word of God to them so they can be saved. God has chosen the foolishness of preaching to save them law of the Lord is perfect converting the soul

Guys, ahhhh.
Is healing biblical? You need to listen to Todd bently's message called SOZO. Check out Voice of healing days, Smith Wigglesworth.
Did Jesus heal people?
Did Jesus Diciples Heal people?
Did Jesus tell his diciples to heal the sick?
Are we in 2008, Diciples of Jesus?
Is Healing in the Atonement?
Why Was Jesus Body whipped and beaten?
WOTM is such a good course to learn when it comes to street evangelism, it's just a pity that they critise other parts of Christ Body

@JQbono So every time you get a cold you honestly believe you have lost your faith? Does God not heal you the moment you ask?
Paul even says at one point he was sick while preaching at one point.
God obviously WANTED Elisha to be sick, because that is the way God chose to end his life. It was not because of unfaithfulness.
What about David Brainerd? I guess he did not have that much faith at all with how sick he was!

@JQbono So the ball is in your court. Why did Elisha die of an illness? Show me how this was a result of his lost faith.
Paul's affliction was obviously some part of his body that was afflicted and this hurt him over and over again....
Paul LOVED persecution and even SANG about it while it was happening to him.
