Only thing is that water in those small bottles is warm and stale and derived of energy so many cats like really fresh water just like humans do. Can't really blame the cat there.

Ignorant idiots who love their soapboxes clearly aren't familiar with cats - if Bonky was really that desperate for water, he probably wouldn't be looking so clear eyed and bushytailed. Like LadyWeasel said below, my cat is no different - he'll have fresh, clean water in his bowl but sometimes chooses to drink rain water from a puddle. No cruelty here either - Bonky would've made a run for it if he didn't like being soaked.

If those exact conditions of feeding the cat weren't met, my cat wouldn't even look at it, but just continue to meow for hours, until she would eventually get angry and start pissing everywhere in the house.

It's not a sign of deprevation, it's a sign of being spoiled. A dehydrated cat would lap like crazy; he wouldn't stand around and take a leisurely bath like Bonk. Aaah yes. The habits these kids get in to. One of mine has to sit on the toilet tank when I take a shower. When I get out, he goes to the sink and head butts the tap. The other one will stand on their food desk and expect to be fed. Hey, cats like to be up high. :)
Oh yes. I'm very familiar with the licking thing... When my oldest was a kitten, I got drunk at home and passed out on the sofa. Next morning, I woke up to a raw chin. I think he was trying to take care of me. XD

My cats use the bidet as their drinking fountain. While I'm cleaning my teeth, there they are, fighting over whose turn it is to stick their head under the tap. And then I have to stand there until they've drunk their fill. One of them even sits patiently in the bidet and waits until I come into the bathroom and turn the tap on. No one else uses the bidet, before you ask - it's strictly cats only.
[And obviously BonkBonkBonkBonk! is much loved. Nobody is depriving him of water!]
My cats don't drink standing water. They used to play in it and lick it off their paws, so my husband and I got them a fountain dome thing, water runs down the dome and they drink it. It also keeps the water filtered too, they really love it.

I love those cat wipes! TMI alert: My cat gets what we call "poopfoot" where basically he stumbles while in the litter box and steps on his own poop. Nice, I know. He's not the most graceful feline. We know when this is happening because he comes out of the litter box hopping and holding that foot in the air. He'll stand there and look at me, like, "Little help, please?"

lol x), I think people tend to stereotype cats too much. Read a few books and then they are know it alls. I think that cats are just as individual as people. the family cat PREFERS showers. It'll jump in the tub and meow till someone turns on the shower for him. He'll stay in there for about 10 min or so and then jump out. Likes to do that everyday or at least every 2nd day. I swear he has better bathing habits than 2/3's of YouTube lol

My youngest (three yrs) sleeps on me all night long, licking me. It's horrible. (I secretly love it though.) The skin on my arms is red for days! :-)

lol x), I think people tend to stereotype cats too much. Read a few books and then they are know it alls. I think that cats are just as individual as people. the family cat PREFERS showers. It'll jump in the tub and meow till someone turns on the shower for him. He'll stay in there for about 10 min or so and then jump out. Likes to do that everyday or at least every 2nd day. I swear he has better bathing habits than 2/3's of YouTube lol

my calico is the same...she refuses to drink water from any other source except the tub, the sink (we have to cup it in our hands or it's no good) :o) , or OUR drinking cups ! that one pisses me off after i've filled a good cup of cold water & she sticks her paws right in there & looks at me to see my reaction ! :o)

haha. yeah, the other day I left the tap dripping for him and went to the other room for a minute, then tessa went in there a few minutes later to find him just laying in there, not even drinking, with water dripping all over him. he was soaked.
