  • Wow. That is all I have to say. I'm jealous.

  • Wow!! You are wonderful!! God Bless you!

  • Girls I don't really know you, but dang, u good! Darn you, I had to stop work and log into You Tube just so I could post this comment.

    LOVE the orchestrations too!

  • SO HOT!! great voice!!

  • amazing job! what key was that in?

  • What's the name of the CD this song was recorded for?

  • DON'T EVER LOOSE THIS BEAUTIFUL VOICE! You have got it! I was so impressed that I watch the whole thing instead of fast forwarding to the end! :)

  • nice picking of the nose at 1:33!! attractive!!

  • oh yeah, full on nasal issues. I make no apologies.

  • Magnifique!

  • amazing!!!!

  • You are so great!!!! You kind of sound like Audra McDonald, when you sing in your head voice. Particularly at 2:29 - 2:30, you sound just like her. :D

  • aww, thank you. haha when I was in high school, I used to refer to Audra McDonald as "the Goddess". I still love her. thanks for the compliment!

  • You're welcome! :D

  • great voice, great version!

  • Great version of a magical song. But I like this song to move me to tears - this version doesn't. But a great show stopper.

  • I know, right? I loved singing this version, but I like it within the context of the show better. Raul Esparza is my favorite, hands down :-)

  • You nailed it, Miss Urbanczyk! Digging the orchestration, too!! Bravi tutti!!!!

  • You go girl woohoo!!!

  • BRAVO!!!

  • sweet as honey great backing track, but you are "somethin else"!!!!!!!!

  • Great voice.

  • Well done girl, you have an extraordinary voice! Really amazing

  • Really good,well done!!

  • Excellent! You may also enjoy my video of the 1970 recording of this song for the Company original cast album - sung by Dean Jones.

  • There's been some debate on my channel about the "best" rendition of "Being Alive." I've added links on Patti Lupone's version to a number of performances - including yours.

  • That was amazing!!

  • omg this totally gives me goosebumps lol this version is really good

  • wow.

    nice job!

  • ur good!!

  • Whoever you are please listen to me. I spent my twenties on Broadway and have been on thousands of auditions. If you went to New York and started auditioning (even for Non-Equity) at first. . .you will work!! You are VERY marketable and I can think of at least dozen shows (including "Wicked" - Elpheba) that you would be PERFECT for. Do it; you will thank me! :-)

  • thank you very much! I actually just moved to NYC a week go to do just that. All I need now are some decent headshots and I'll be getting myself to as many auditions as possible :-)

(And its one of my dreams to play Elphaba :-))

  • FIERCE.

  • ur voice is un believable

  • This is simply amazing!

You are... OMG... nothing can describe how amazing you are

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!! you are SO good. this is amazing, purely amazing.

  • haha. i've heard a lot of belting, and i've NEVER heard belting like this. its amazing

  • Impresionante !!!!

Es la voz mas increible que he escuchado desde hace muchísimo tiempo.

    Realmente una maravilla.

Esta chica debía estar en los altares.

  • in english?

  • En Inglés, Castellano, Nepalés, Euskera y Swahili.

  • My Spanish translation may be a bit iffy, but I'm pretty sure they said:

    "Impressive!

It's the most incredible voice I've heard in a long time. Really a marvel. This girl ought to be in lights"

  • @biz663

    Impressive!

Your voice is the best I've heard in a while. Really wonderful. This girl should be at the alter?

    Haha, that's the translation.

  • Just lovely

  • Just amazing! Work it out girl! Im a fan

  • haha thanks vince....look at her other stuff too.

  • I just died.......you make me wanna work harder on My dreams!

  • You are freakin amazing, and you sound like Selena!

  • hahah Elizabeth sounds nothing like Selena! But thank you for your comments. Check out her other amazing videos.

  • Wow. Very very very very very nice. Don't really know what else to say. Lost for words. Congrats. On . Being. Alive.

  • Wonderful. Very impressive.

  • wow being a singer, i was really impressed.

  • OH amazing & FANTASTIC ((:

  • Fantastic Voice!

had the barbara orchestration much prefer the show version

    you are just fantastic hehe

    xx

  • oh no definitely not....the Barbra orchestration is much bigger and impressive compared to the show version. Anyways....my arrangement was based on Peter Matz's arrangement (aka the barbra one) but is not the same.

  • You did a great job, but it's not a love song :(, at all really.

  • it really isn't. it's something that always annoyed me about this version. As beautiful as it is, it kind of misses the point of the song in the context of the show. Still, I loved singing it :-)

  • where can i get your song?!

  • Nice. But did you pick your nose there...lol! Jokey!

  • Very nice Elizabeth. Always nice to actully see and hear new talent on Youtube. Congratulations!

  • Loved it.

  • I did really like it though. great job.

  • why is streisand mentioned even though she just did a version of it...it's sondheim. from company.

  • Streisand is probably mentioned, because she paid Sondheim to make this original arrangement of the song. The original is lovely, but not nearly as intense. That's why in the album sleeve for this album, her first lines are "Why does art have to cost so much?"

  • actually peter matz did this arrangement of the piece, not sondheim. Actually, on her Broadway album Sondheim rewrote some of the words on "Send in the Clowns."

  • I think I love you for this :)

  • Thank you, I'm always grateful for love :-)

  • What an original, considered interpretation. Streisand could learn from you. Keep up the good work.

  • Oh please.

  • Great Job!!! you are a sensational talent..

  • JUst absolutely chilling and it raised the hair on my back-I think She is just sheer talent. Thank you I have posted this as one of my favorites!

  • WOW you ATTACKED that song...and i mean that as a compliment...my favorite broadway song and you sang the crap out of it :)

  • Such PASSION!!! I thought I was watching The great Streisand...the only comprable recording to Streisand's to Date...Need any career help, cause you're going places...As the great Harold Arlen said of Streisand over forty years...I say this to all who view this...Keep listening, keep watching, and remember I told you so!!!

  • WOW!!! I want your CD NOW!!! Great vocal. Thank You!

  • Beautiful voice!

  • ::blushes:: Thanks everyone... props to Tony for arranging everything and helping me go global :-)

  • If you are the "artist" that recorded this, please read my post on August 28, 2008. Good Luck! :-)

  • Elizabeth! when you get your CD out I will buy it definitely!! You have a beautiful voice! You have to record!!!!

  • Tony, I think I am midly obsessed with her!!!!

  • that was a really good rendition of the song!! appreciated that!!

  • Great job!

I've always hated this song ... except for Peter Matz's arrangement. Otherwise, the original broadway arrangement is too dirge-like for my tastes. I guess I like the more "jazzy" and up-tempo arrangement better.

  • Elizabeth Urbanczyk - what a fab voice! i would buy ur cd!!!!!!!!!! u did that song justice!!!
