First of all, That is NOT 6 to 8 ft. Probably 3.5 ft sets and 4 ft on the odd occasion. Secondly that dude has no idea how to jump with a board, Probably his first time he has done it. I have jumped off rocks and piers countless times, The tick is to jump with your hands out wide and hold the board in one hand. As your feet hit the water throw your board away from your body, your board should hit the water just after your head is submerged. This = clean entry and no damage to your board.
