This is based off of Touhou.  Patchouli, Remilla, and Marissa are all characters of the Touhou series.

So, this is a fusion of Megaman and Touhou. It explains the brutal difficulty, anyway.

Touhou makes you suffer? Megaman games are a tad more frustrating. The Touhou danmakus are pretty relaxing in normal difficulty: just sit back, watch the pretty colors, and move slowly between the patterns.

I meant nothing about myself, but considering you approach to normal mode, Ill warn you right now that the average person doesnt so simply weave around barrages of bullets when trying it for the first time, it takes practice. If you can beat MegaMari but are unable to beat BombMan's stage in Mega Man, you've either got one hell of a problem or you're the biggest liar I've ever met.

Seriously, Mega Man has some super easy stages mixed in with it's impolite stages. MegaMari is just one giant walking insult, constantly slapping you in the face with how much it hates you and wants you to suffer.

I think they're different types of difficulty. Mega Man tests your ability to read and analyze a boss's pattern, and develop a plan of attack based on that pattern. MegaMari tests your dexterity and ability to focus and avoid bullets on a bullet-to-bullet basis (even though Touhou itself forces you to analyze patterns, Touhou gives you the luxury of free movement in two dimensions, which you really don't have in MegaMari).

Sakuya and Cirno are usually good picks for the first stage, but if you aren't that good with the controls (which is definitely not the case with you, Azura) both stages are really tough.

I have to say, Azura, I was surprised how long you went there in the winning fight with Alice in the Danmaku daggers. You'd probably be really good with the canon games, you should probably check them out, they're harder than anything I've played, but damn are they fun!

Which means your character's weak point is her face. and the problem is that the projectile is invincible. You only have to dodge them. It's similar to a Japanese arcade shoot'em up game. Like 19XX From Capcom. The weak point of every fighter you choose is the glass. a projectile must hit that point in order for you to get killed.
