wmg should think better! this is something important to the whole world to be able to see and listen to it would be better promotion for the company to let peoble hear this!
licensing is the enemy of culture. Rather than make sure they get their dollar instead they deny people the chance to hear and get inspired by this 50-year old music!
è molto importante sapere che il mambo che state ascoltando è di machito el rey del mambo ,famosissimo negli anni 50 a cuba ,il signor macito si chiamava frenk grillo ,suo padre era di palermo (italia)
Merci beaucoup , Muchas Gracias ! At this time Charlie Parker s combo was playing in Jazz clubs around so Machito must have heard them . Very good music indeed
If you like this, then go to the Friday's after work party at Windows over Harlem (125/7th Av). Should you go, you are in for a treat, its the best kept secret, perhaps, because everyone is mature and know the true history of the dance. Witness for yourself, it will rekindle your love for mambo.
I agree, mambo has always been a black thing, its just that most African-Americans get hung up on the Spanish lyrics and miss out on a truly African experience. Recently, I visited Harlem on a Friday and went to Windows over Harlem (125/7th Av). There, I saw this same crowd of mambo dancers, they are smooth. A must visit for hard-core mambo, they dance with soul and passion. Caution, please do not dance wild and disrespectful on the dance floor or you will not get a chance to dance.
@mavinga No we are not all the Same! These are Black American Judeans, and millions of people died to have them written in the Constitution of America. North.
so all the later african whatever, came like all other immigrants, for an american Dream built off of Black Americans.
