Just because The Colbert Report is funny (and it is funny) doesn't mean it's superficial. It's a sophisticated commentary on our current media and how they're merely platforms for pundits to spew their agendas. Those pundits are part of what other people despise about Americans; they're full of self-importance and spew un-researched opinions based on jingoistic ideology.
