  • Great stuff especially with headphones!! Loved it!

  • Cool video. The Boeing 727 was the mainstay of airlines for years. It helped make them profitable. The 727's sales record for the most jet airliners ever sold was broken in the early 1990s by its younger stablemate, the 737.

  • Oh that DC3 sounded amazing! <3

  • Such varied, diverse, and interesting group of planes. Man has come up with amazing ways to fly, eh? Awesome!

  • My favorite WWII planes in order of preference... 5th. P-38 Lightning 4th. F4U Corsair 3rd. Mosquito 2nd. P-51 Mustang...and my mostest favoritest airplane of all time.... (drum roll)

    SPITFIRE!

  • 3:16 the sound change is sex to my ears...

  • f4u baby

  • Love the stang and the 727

  • Love those radial engines AND that Merlin coming at you at over 400 MPH - sound!!

  • Wtf fake gunfire?

  • @TheCraftedMine No, blank (rifle) gunfire from re-enactors on the ground who you don't actually see in the video.

  • haha love that cam-hellsangels symbol

  • That glider fly by was impressive and its also the top fighter plane for the Mexican air force .

  • 0:07 fighter shots =epic

  • This is hardcore porn for any pilot

  • At altitude, planes barely look like they are moving, so the true ground perspective is very interesting. I especially enjoyed the glider.

  • Can i join that team... I saw some aussie planes in there!!

  • 3:20 Tie-Fighter sound....

  • 1 of thoughs planes was a Bell Huey

  • @TheMichaelangelini yes they are royal new zealand airforce hueys, they are being replaced this year with NH-90's

  • Great filming, love it!!

  • Those amazing engine sounds gave me an eargasm. Thanks for posting.

  • My goal in life is to fly a corsair! What a beautiful plane

  • Wow ! This is a very nice piece of work, thank you for the post ! Just a thing, about the picture itself : are these 2 black bars on left and right normal, or did they appear after you put the file online, because of a youtube wrong fromat ? I'm asking this because I had the same problem at the begining. If so, type yt:stretch=16:9 in your video tags, and... enjoy ! Anyway, it's a very nice vid !

  • @1981Badfish *format, of course, not fromat^^ !

  • Every time I see a Corsair I think of the old show Baa Baa Black Sheep! Crappy show, but I loved it when I was a kid. If you're not familiar with it, check it out, starring John Larroquette as 2nd Lt. Robert 'Bob' Anderson. Guess it paved the way for his role in Stripes! lol.

  • It's been a while since those 727's were in service with RNZAF. Use to love seeing those when they made visits to Brissy

  • 1:23 Remind you any of Band of Brothers? C-17!!!

  • TWIN ASTIR :))

  • Where was this??

  • um....y was the 727 in this? nothing very special about it, i mean other than the factthat that thing is just deafaning when it flys over ur house loaded full of cargo at 2am :/

  • Cranked my stereo for this and then the glider came on and I howled XD

  • Nice vid mate...

  • 2:58, i can just imagine hearing, those 6 .50s are firing!

  • Incredible video,

I get goose bumps, when I here these engines. Thanks for sharing!

  • Ruined by the 727

  • Nice video, thanks for posting.

That 'Stang at 2.30 sounds more like a rattly, radial than a merlin?? Have you matched the correct audio to video or is there a miss on no.5 cylinder? :-)

  • @MrSHAJW No, it's the original audio -- the sound you're hearing is another aircraft sitting on the flightline just out of sight, not too far away, with its engine idling.

  • @HAFUVideo is that il2 cod?

  • @HAFUVideo was the FG-1D an improved version of the F4U?

  • @98bennyj the FG was built under liscense by Goodyear ( the same company who still make the undercarriage for Boeing and Airbus )......hence the alteration to its designation.

I dunno about "improved ".....same engine, same armament....but it did have a different , and pilots say better canopy .

  • @98bennyj I don't think it was an improved version as such -- the different designation was more to indicate that this is one of the Cosairs build under licence by Goodyear, rather than one built by Chance Vought.

  • @HAFUVideo OK, thanks!

  • The fighter at 3:00..cool engine sound.

  • @GLL1912 The engine is the American made Packard V-1650-7 which was developed from the British Rolls Royce Merlin. I'd know that sound anywhere! And the plane is the P-51-D Mustang. :)

  • @lander4545 developed or licenced produced?

  • @pramboy09 A licenesed product DEVELOPED from the Rolls Royce Merlin with updated and improved engineering from the Packard Car Company.

  • @lander4545 so what was updated? matierials used may have been different but what i have read it was licenced produced.

  • @pramboy09 Licencing doesn't mean an exact replica. The American Packard Car Company didn't know much about airplanes but they did know engineering. Packard changed the main crankshaft bearings from a copper lead alloy to a silver lead combination that featured indium plating. This bearing coating improved break-in and load carrying ability of the surface. Packard changed the carburetor to a Bendix/Stromberg unit as the one on the Rolls Royce engine would stall in a dive......

  • @pramboy09 .....Packard incorporated the Wright Supercharger Drive Quill. This was a two speed, two stage supercharger. The modification was designated the "high altitude" change which was destined for the P-51. The fuel pump, vacuum pump, hydraulic pump were all changed to Pesco units. The starter and generator were changed to Eclipse units. The magnetos were changed to General Electric or Delco. The propeller hub, blade and governor were changed to Hamilton Standard.....

  • @pramboy09 .... the automatic boost control was Packard part no. 615333. These American made Packard V-1650 engine modifications were adopted by Rolls Royce and incorporated into there engines as well. The Packard V-1650 also powered the British Spitfires,Mosquitos and Lancasters.

  • Splendid collection of aircraft. Many thanks !!

  • @Yinshaman Fuckin know it all

  • Oh! But it is music!

  • Nice video, and without any f... music ! Pretty rare !... T4P !!!

  • @eromadrol Yeah! Only a few of our early videos have some music (due to the lack of other audio). Check out our recent videos -- lots of nice engine sounds

  • The 'Stang' at 2:34 is close to the best fly-by EVER !!!!

  • I love copters more than I love planes. Helos are much more difficult to fly than planes

  • @Yinshaman The BAC1-11 has TWO engines and NO leading edge devices....

  • The glider made me laugh.

  • @RippedWookie

    Me too lol

  • Been up in that Cat, she's a lovely old bird. Bit rattly, but you can't beat the view from those domes on a sunny day over Auckland Harbour!

  • Got to love the should of the P51s. V12 Packard/Rolls Merlin power.

  • i love my Baby Iroquoi,Bell UH1.... Huey.... well P51 Mustang, P40 Hurricane...P47 Thunderbolt...Messerschmidt BF109 are Awesome too.... Thank u to preserve those dream birds !!!

  • @Yinshaman Perhaps not but the Royal New Zealand Air Force DID use 727's. This is one of their aircraft.

  • @HAFUVideo Correct. The nose, slat arrangement, main gear doors and tail anhedral are the giveaway.

  • I love it and no music to ruin the video!!

  • That 727 lost or something?

  • Look at those mother Fokkers go!

  • 3:11 OH SHIT!!!!!

  • Where are those Fokkers at 1:43 flying?

  • wow i never realized how long the PB-Y wing is until this video that thing is a runway on its own.

  • @rcairplanes10 Boeing 727

  • @HAFUVideo No it's a 717, as you can see there is just 2 engines, but the 727 have 3 engines

  • @zanziflex01 at 3:10 it is a 727.

  • Is this filmed at Wanaka?, im in the UK so its only the main one ive heard of, Thanks

  • @UKVoodooUK Mainly at Classic Fighters airshow at Omaka Aerodrome, Blenheim, New Zealand

  • @HAFUVideo Thanks ill get searching the internet more now :)

  • I find myself wondering. Why didn't they put V8's in warplanes? The scream of a high strung V8 at 7 thousand RPM's would scare the Paint off of a Barn when it approached from above.

    ;)

  • @ShadenGheist

They did, but they were early pre-war fighters and didn't make enough power.

Instead, they used V12's with 1,600CI or more.

    One example was a 24cyl in a W configuration with 3420CI and 2,600HP.

Radials were also used with 9 to 28 cylinders, and up to 4,360CI.

The largest radial was rated at 4,300HP, try getting that out of a V8 that will last longer than the takeoff run.

They use V8's on experimental aircraft and they sound pretty weak when stacked up against V12's.

  • ...Maverick: "Sorry, Goose, but it's time to buzz the tower."

  • man, that plane at 0:53 was annoying. :)

  • Just lovely! It's such a pleasure to not have some eejits talking in the background to spoil these. Many thanks for a great recording!

  • 0:51 what is the plane name ?

  • damn that Yak-9 has an angry sounding engine.

  • Whats the name of the first plane?

  • @tab1990 Goodyear FG-1D Corsair

  • @tab1990 F4U Corsair, WW II bird..

  • Awesome video!! What kind of camera do you use?

  • That title isnt some gross euphemism, is it?

  • The De Havilland at the end sounds like an jet fighter :D

  • O.M.G-fantastic!=such a great compolation of video and sound!!-been to lots of air shows and seen lots of great warbirds! -the sound and video fit perfectly!

  • @TheLegoboy1997

    Yes! Oooooh YES!!!

  • Wow, I was at the show this year 2011. A few moments upon watching I just knew. The best airshow I have ever been to. Who would have known Omaka in Blenheim would have such a wonderful ground and airshow. Of course having a bit of support from Peter Jackson doesn't hurt.... Great event! Thanks for the vid.

  • Its all about the Corsair!

  • its all about the P51!

  • wow that pby catalina att 0:33 was very quiet for a double engine aircraft

  • Nice video. Where and when was this?
