  • This is my dad? What's up dan. Lance and I, will always be the Best of Friends.

  • 不愧是伊魯山度大師.

  • Holy shit that Kriss is friggin gigantic!

  • Awesome and painful...Dan is the man

  • as martial artists we should all have respect for each others styles as we can learn from each other, Dan Inosanto is a legend.

  • I am so proud to be American!

  • @MaharlikaAWA The fuck is wrong with you.

  • i've never seen this before... i've never expected it to be so traditional. it surprised me. i mean inosanto is a bigtime hollywood guy and yet his martial arts style and the way he teaches it is really very similar to the way old folks in the rural philippines teaches the art... same way i was taught.

  • i want to join arnis but i wonder if my shoulder will dislocate again T_T

  • one word,Replay!

  • I have tremendous respect for Don Inosanto! A great martial artist of many different styles.

  • quickick06 he's proud of being filipino relative to this filipino martial art because it's filipino accomplishment ...the artform is filipino ...he's proud the same way westerners always proud of western accomplishment even though an individual westerner may not personally be responsible for any of the things for which he displays pride.

  • "irregardless"

  • @quickkick06 Why are you proud to be Filipino? This is his accomplishment, not yours. What does being Filipino have to do with it?

  • @MaharlikaAWA what does being filipino have to do with it? its simple, filipino made this martial art..do your homework boy.

  • @ionehituboi Thats the point I was trying to make!!! "What being Filipino have to do with it?" Exactly! Anyone can practice this art and just because it came from the Philippines doesnt mean anything. So why say "Im so proud to be filipino!!" This is Dan Inosanto's accomplishment, not his and just because he is filipino does not make it your accomplishment either.

By the way I know all about the Philippines. Watch my channel.

  • @MaharlikaAWA I'm proud of my Daughter when she danced her first recital. its her accomplishment and my being her father had nothing to do with her dancing, its her and her teacher's accomplishment. Its the same thing Mr. Inosanto his Filipino but his accomplishments are his own, but he gives credit not only to the FMA society but to the whole nation. So when we say he makes us proud to be Filipino, its more about him being inspirational as well as aspirational.

  • @MaharlikaAWA well....arnis de mano originated in the Philippines. Dan Inosanto is a half filipino. so your screwed

  • @left4dead2addictify How am I screwed? if you are trying to say a Filipino can claim the accomplishments of another man simply because something originated in the Philippines or the guy is filipino then Dan Inosanto's accomplishment of arnis mastery is only 50% representing you and also 50% representing me so therefore it is also my accomplishment that Dan Inosanto is an arnis master. So I think YOU are screwed.

  • There hardly any schools here in the Philippines

  • im 54 and im starting to learn.....

  • DUDE! Is that JEFF IMADA?!?

  • Does anyone know Bruce Lee's view on Kali ? I never read anything with lee mentioning it. I know inosanto taught Lee nunchaku. In Enter the Dragon looks like Lee used two Kali sticks. Did Lee incorporate Kali in his own JKD ?

  • they should put this on Deadliest Warrior!!!...

  • I'm Japanese and I love sticks, I brought it my filipino friends

  • Deadly. Love Kali/Escrima/Arnis

  • Dan Innosanto isn't a noted fighter. He got his reputation from coaching Bruce Lee on Eskrima (stick fighting). The real practioners of Eskrima have been to real fights using bamboo sticks. Many of them have deformed fingers as a result from getting hit with the bamboo. Kakoy Canete was the most noted with challenge fights inside military camps and cock pits. Notable fighters during Dan Inosantos era were Ising Abelio, Kakoy Canete, Momoy Canete etc, men who really bleed to promote their art.

  • tja, aber gegen brady brasil hat das alles nicht geklappt...

  • 7 people got slick in the mouth with an Eskrimador...

  • are incredible rather...

  • dan inosanto is the best in kali , not to mention of his skills in others, I met him in the 80s and i could be best of him i mean the best, this mans teachings is incredible but i dont like his association with fake martial artist actor BL so i remained as an audience but i highly recommend anyone to join his academy of martial arts ! jeff imada of cuz an important person in MA ,あのやろよくがんばって。。はは

  • @pornpan96 Fake martial artist? WTF are you talking about??

  • filipinos out there who are martial arts enthusiast lets start practicing our own before we practice other arts...

  • is 18 too late to learn eskrima?

  • @R1CHARD909

    I'm 31 and I just started learning.

  • @R1CHARD909 no! never too late to learn!

  • fuck you

  • hi

  • Dan Inosanto is incredible. I have nothing but the utmost respect for him.

  • @owlandtree

If you ever get the chance to train with him, I highly recommend it. He came to my school a few weeks ago and held a 2 day training seminar. It was amazing.

  • your chest is well protected.. how about your head?

  • Nice! keep them coming. I'm just getting started... Check out my channel and let me know what you think. Make it a Great Day. ;)

  • search "vard antinyan"

  • What is the word he says at 0:54? "Whether you pull through or have a ?"

  • @BeriaDoMar

he said litik, which in cebuano means a quick snap.

  • Here we see: the aim it precition n self-body-training.

His movements are very light n round. Thats how it shoul be.

    Not hart n muscul-trained.

  • focus on stick and you will realize that while its moving its flexible... look at it...

  • Thanks Sankkaku45...This is perfect. I just learned the heave & earth 6. Going left was always awkward for some reason, but not its natural with practice.

  • I just learned this drill

  • ni artes marciales ni mierdas lo mejor es ir con una 357 en el bolsillo...no hay mejor defens que un tiro en la frente

  • haha heads up filipinos this is our spot light....learn the filipino martial arts not kung fu taekwando or any other martial arts....ours is better

  • @jb137719 opo LAGI BA!!!!!! I live in Davao Im looking to find someone to learn from!!!!

  • i would love to learn this. a very nice martial arts.

  • @cole927lew ,...learn it,..;-)

  • am i the only one seeing mathematical patterns? this is some hard core mechanics

  • am i the only one seeing mathematical patterns?

  • fma is a part of jkd . especially nowadays., escrima was a component of bruces early teachings. so was wing chun! wingchunlova. theres no limitation in jkd ,no way as a way. i take what i can use , statements like that, devalue you as a martial artist, remember your most valuable weapon is your mind!!dont be mad . revolutionize your thinking.

  • jkdstolberg.jimdo.com/

  • at 1:00 what did he say? this is what they called? ...?

  • Comment removed

  • That is a really nice Escrima stick too!

  • SHARKYS MACHINE!!!

  • That stick cam fuck you up!

  • These are great! - I directed and did all the editing on these videos back in the 80's - We shot these in our "studios" which was an office building in Torrance/Gardena off Western & 182nd. There were 6 volumes in total - these are old VHS dubs, I think they are still being sold on DVD. - Chris Mason

  • dan inosanto is using the art kombatan in this video.the sinawali drills heaven 6 etc can be found only in modern arnis and kombatan

  • @kenshin9518 he is using escrima.. and sinawali can be found in escrima

  • @actionmanrandell acctualy escrima has many styles its just like kung fu with the dragon style tiger style eagle style etc. and this style of escrima is doce pares or kombatan i dont really know

  • @kenshin9518 no kombatan is not a style of escrima.. escrima is simply the parent style theres a difference..just like Doce pares. its not a style of escrima. its simply a style inspired by escrima... and there is actually no style of martial arts of kung fu,, kung fu means skill through effort and can refer to painting or tea making or anything. in china the term wushu would be more fit or simply martial art

  • @kenshin9518 Guro Dan is not using Kombatan. Dan never trained with GM Ernesto presas. Heaven 6 is a basic sinawali in many FMA systems.

  • Dan the man

  • check out kalisticks4less for escrima products

  • isn't he a bruce lee student??? yea he is!!! Inosanto holds the 3rd rank (Instructor) directly from Bruce Lee in Jeet Kune Do!!!!! so everything started from Bruce!!! he is the best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Elitetechcity Ah, but this is Arnis, not Jeet Kune Do. He didn't learn Arnis from Bruce Lee.

  • @Elitetechcity ..Bruce lee was influenced BY FMA , they where around long before he was.

  • @Elitetechcity he taught bruce lee the art of kali, while bruce lee taught him kung fu,they were both student and teachers for themselves.they open their minds into all martial arts absorving what is usefull which they called "jeet kune do"

  • @Elitetechcity , Jeet Kune Do sucks balls!!!! Wing Chun is the best martial art ever invented........

  • @WingChunLova first of all jkd isnt a style, i think you mean jun fan gung fu. second jfgf was first 70% wing chun, later it was just 30% wing chun. bruce lee went off from wing chun because dan inosanto jumped backwards (cause lee was faster than him) and lee didnt came along because of wing chun footwork. btw you seem to be very stupid when you say 'this is the best' and call JKD a martial art. nowadays it seems to be part of wing chun training to get overconfident, you are ridiculous.

  • @KingLofiOne , I don't care is JKD is not a style, art or whatever, still sucks...

  • I love it !!! he says slowly. slowly, and all the while his moving faster then most will ever build up to!!

  • what year was this? :D

  • This vid is timeless! Notice his checking hand flows and dovetails the weapon hand. Danny and Bruce were doing this way way back!

  • kali is the original fililipino martial-arts use by lapu-lapu

  • really? cool!

  • hello. i just turned 16 this Feb 17.2010

i am just wondering is it too late to train arnis in my age?

  • @iTuboh Nope. It's never too late to train martial arts. 16 is actually a good age to start.

  • @iTuboh Be sure to learn martial arts for the right reasons.

  • that guy with him at 2:04 looks like Jeff Imada

  • that is Jeff Imada

  • nice... *head held high*... ^_^

  • Im not filipino but i would like to learn this...

  • sorry for my typos

    \\

    V

  • Ive had this for like 20 yrs who is next to Dan Ted Lucayluca? His wife is the blonde which she is flying with the swords!

  • 5 stars

  • Kali is my fighting style my uncle who trains with Dan teachs me from old times! and it's hard the training is hard! but Im filipino and im proud that kali is out there

  • it saddens me, as a filipino, that filipino martial arts are least practiced here in the philippines, unlike outside the philippines, in favor of foreign martial arts. I'm hoping that filipino martial arts will continue to grow and be promoted like guro Dan does. Peace.

  • @ShinSuperSaiyajin just because its not on T.V does not mean its being is not being practice.

if you want to see something more recent simply type this on the search:

Kombatan Arnis - Grand Master Ernesto G Presas Jnr

  • normally you wouldn't sign up for something that literally aims to kill you...

  • just got a kali stick, I hope to get years of use from it :)

  • simply brilliant knife fighting techniques, devestating and beautiful to watch.thanks for the upload mate! peace...

  • That was just them. And if you saw fight quest you'd see the other master didn't do a ritual on Jimmy

The chicken blood thing is not universal in the Philippines

  • yokihiro. if you wanna learn kali or escrima, well dude its not easy.

there is a ceremonial before you will learn that ancient philippine martial arts.

tro to look at the FIGHT QUEST in the philippines. where doug was baptised as a warrior.

  • Guru Dan is a black belt in BJJ under the Machado Bros. If Bruce Lee was still alive, he'd be well versed in BJJ as well without a doubt.

  • Dan thats amazing dude. i wanna learn FMA. i just dont know where to go.

  • @yokihiro go to dose paras in the filllopines

  • Karlshaman, MegaNewlook, the late Grandmaster Leo Giron went to war with sticks, knives & bolos against the Japanese & came back in one piece, died a few years ago.

i've seen action in places u don't wanna imagine & never was wounded. i attribute a lot of it to FMA, among others.

FMA is one of many beautiful things 2 come f/ the PI like komote leave, efficascent oil liniment, (no need 2b certified)organic peanut butter & the Iglesia Ni Cristo.

  • Filipino Martial arts Rules

  • Yes, yes... we have it all. Escrima teaches you how to fight with weapons (Sticks, knives, swords) and hand to hand combat. Foot work, Blocks, Take downs, Grappling, Close and far range etc. extensive diversity... not just one

  • @DenigranteFino escrima came from the Spaniards who taught it to the philipinos. so technically its spanish...

  • @xerolife666 : escrima came from the Spaniards who taught it to the philipinos. so technically its spanish = Huh? Hmmmm...Perhaps You Will Say Martial Arts Originated From INDIA Who Gave What They Knew To The Chinese! Since, Why Would The Murderous Spanish Give The Philipinos Any Thing While Killing Them With a Sword?

  • @Standardfrank well i wouldn't say ORIGINATED, maybe helped influence more. if you were half as smart as you pretend to be you would do your research and maybe you figure out that martial arts are just about as old as human civilization. and maybe you'd see that some of the earliest know DOCUMENTED evidence shows that even the ancient Egyptians had their own styles of martial arts. if you spent half the time you waste being a keyboard warrior to actually learn something then maybe you can speak

  • @xerolife666 : YOUR COMMENTS ARE NOT INTELLIGENT!

~i-Have No Time For Responding To Your INSANITY YOU ARE MISTAKING FOR WISDOM.

When You Can Speak, Write, Think With KNOWLEDGE You May Learn Something!

  • @Standardfrank why dont you do your own research before you start shooting your mouth off about stuff you dont understand. instead of pretending to know what your talking about and acting tough on youtube why dont you go out and get real first hand experience? it might do you some good instead of trying to act cool by being a trolling keyboard warrior. instead of living as scum you should try something productive that would help the planet.........like die..

  • @xerolife666 : 'Standardfrank why dont you do your own research... Scum ...like die Blah Blah..' = YOU ARE NOT INTELLIGENT = DEATH ONLY OFFERS YOU! = You Are Confusing Wisdom With Your Own INSANITY/CALAMITY! For Research, B4 You Can Overstand Anything...Know How To Count Correctly So You Can Think And Write Factually! So Which Came First...NO-THING OR ZERO? What Is Nothing? What Is Zero? Do You Know The Difference?

Appreciate Dan Inosanto's Video Or Vacate The Thread!

  • @Standardfrank how do you "overstand" something? learn to spell before you try to reply. and fyi, i do know the diffrence between nothing and zero... the question is.. do you? (probably not so i'll tell you anyway). nothing is the absence of "something" while zero is the point of balance between positive and negative. and as for what came first......... i did. after that i said "let their be light" ...and there was. now go and watch more youtube videos and keep pretending you know something...

  • @xerolife666 :

What Is The FORMULA For ZERO?

What Is The FORMULA FOR Any Number?

What Existed First... Exponentials Or Fractions?

What Is The Difference Between Pause-It-Ive & Negate-ive? Which Came First?

Endlish Is Not A MTHR-Tongue, But A Bastard Where All Words Means The Opposite Through The Pun-Code You Were Never Taught! Over-Stand?

  • @xerolife666 ARNIS,ESCRIMA and KALI are the same,... arnis in Filipino word, kali maybe from visayan(southern part of Philippines) dialect (im not sure) escrima also in filipino language, because Spaniards had influenced the customs and traditions of the Philippines, even the language. For example, miracle in filipino is HIMALA but sometimes we used MIGLARO (Spanish), Opportunity in Filipino is PAGKAKATAON, but sometimes we used OPORTUNIDAD (Spanish), etc.

  • @xerolife666 u'rrrrrr tupid, u dont even deserve the letter s. U'r name suits u.

  • @totoynani143 im probably more educated then you are seeing as you speak like a child. by the looks of things, you went to school in america "where no child is left behind" lmfao.. it really shows lol. and yes my name does suit me... that's why i chose it .. but that's not the point. the point is, your an idiot and probably shouldn't own a computer. it only makes you look more like an idiot.

  • His demo partner here is a young Jeff Imada, the man who choroegraphed all the "Bourne Identity etc." movies with Matt Damon. As you can see, "Bourne" used Filipino Kali Escrima, no doubt about that. FMA lives!

  • Jeff Imada is awesome.

  • Right on brother!

  • @jkdsifu Two legends! Respect! :0)

  • @jkdsifu saw Dan Inosanto @ Game of Death a Bruce Lee movie. FMA rock on!

  • Dan Inosanto,100% filipino...i amproud of you coz ur promoting the filipino eskrima/kali/arnis....long live all FILIPINO'S.

  • I had the honor of meeting his daughter. Practicing with some students I too want to learn using kaili sticks... Salamat,

    - Jeff

  • Thanks for posting this. These are great fundamentals!!

  • Anyone know of or have the section where he uses Knife and Sword in conjunction?

  • this art is great. trust me, you can pick up just about anything and use it as a weapon using these principles.

its really easy to learn you wont regret it

  • com-on guys, lets enjoy the video, shall we? angel and dan are both filipinos, be proud of it.... manood nalang tayo at ng may matutunan. ok?

  • 1:09 that was the biggest keris i ever seen.

  • almost twice as big as i have ever seen

  • Nuff respect to Dan Inosanto!!

  • To: dockilat,

Thanks dirty business man. Im a former student of late Legendary Grand Angel Blancia , Not like you a man without honor. So shut up too.

  • excellent! he gets right down to the good stuff :)

  • guro, philippine pride

  • You just can't say enough good things about Dan Inosanto. He's fantastic! JKD, Escrima, Silat, he can do it all!

  • He is just a former student of Legendary Grand Master Angel L. Blancia. If not his Grand Master, he does know everything understand. He is great coz he was exposed in the media , movies and they dont give chance to tell the truth about his origin. If the Blancia System got chance to exposed im sure more than great to anyone. Im a Filipino and former student of great Grand Master Angel Blancia

  • It's true that it's impossible to fight with a stick against Japanese coz they using a shootgun.

  • you think they didn't have guns too? Sticks are for training....look up a pinoy balasing or bolo...then we'll talk. I see your point but sometimes it was a matter of close quarters.

  • I have this from like 88-90. One of great videos just on depth alone it's great. Plus the time period of the arts!

  • exellent, this is a treasure video. by the kali master wow, amazing!

  • perfect

  • 5 star

  • at 3:34 Heaven six is confusing.

  • trick ro make it easy:

just get the half of HeavenSix and you see that you have the same position when you started just mirrored

  • damn fellow filipino dan inosanto is really good.

  • He's not really good! He's really great!

Im a Filipino but not like you to be a liar.

  • In stick sparring, I agree; but I've found Sinwalli patterns work pretty in gloved hand sparring

  • They teach fighting with weapons first, and then empty hand, applying the same principles.

  • This video brings me back to the days when I used to sit down and think to myself, how am I going to use these disarms in reality. 15 years later I still haven't figured it out!!!!

  • instead of sitting there thinking go and learn them!

  • @keone314 its a lot easier with a stick than a blade but the disarm occurs at medium rang your weopon blocks their weopon while youre unarmed hand checks th weopon hand then apply pressure either side and thay lose weopon not not the kutting side of knifes

  • Jeff Imada looks crazy young here. The last time I seen him was when he talked about being the fight coordinator for the Bourne films. LOL!!

  • what do you think of my style

  • thx alot! ;)
