  • I learned something very valuable today. Solid video, thanks for the good work.

  • great tutorial.. but if you have a web page with the include file in separate folders or directories, the navigation will get an error.. I'm not a php expert.. still looking for an answer..

  • MATE! If you see this and you can help please reply! I am trying to include something in a different directory... I am in c:\\xampp\htdocs\REG\reg.php and i am trying to include something in c:\\xampp\htdocs\config\config.php

Its telling me invalid stream although i wrote .. include("reg\config\config.php") but it didnt help!! WHAT TO DO PLEASE ANYONE!

  • what can i say! Absolutely clear your explanation ;) Amazing, I loved the lesson. You even made a conclusion to summarize the main steps! 10/10! I agree with MCMdizajn. I didn't fall sleep this time! I feel i actually learnt! So now it's time to give it a try! :P wish me luck! :P Thank youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!! :D

  • Thats help me a lottttttttttt.......thx dude

  • Does this only work once the files are uploaded to a server because right now I'm testing this while the files are only on my computer and I'm not seeing anything on my site :-/

  • yeah i'm the 6666th viewer :D

  • This is exactly what I was looking for! I still wonder if it's possible to include files via simple JavaScript, but I think I'm okay with this method as long as I don't mess up my .htaccess file.

I do have one important question though: can you use any other extension than .inc? (like .html)

  • @Krazeel

Although using a .inc extension is the most common, you can use any text-friendly extension including .html or .txt. I like the idea of using something other than html so that you can keep track of your independent web page files (html) vs your files that are part of a bigger page (inc).

  • @Krazeel .htm .xhtml .xhtm

  • Awesome, this helped aloooot :'D

  • great tutorial... thanx

  • Why wont it work for me? When everyone else uses it it looks like that. When I use it it looks like a badly made .bat program.

  • php 4 was able to use includes for any web site. php 5, as far as I can tell, does not allow this. Are there any other was of doing this?

  • HOLY CRAP this just saved like everyone aLOT of freakn time with editing every single page lol

    dang hek yeah~!! thanks~!!

  • For my php include I used pretty much my whole html start code lol...doctype, html, head, title, link css, and div boxes with nav lol...and since im really lazy i have a end include that has three lines: /div, /body, /html lol

  • Already use this on my site. :) Very very very useful...sucked when I wanted to make a new page or change layout and had to change every page. Now I use php include and .phtml domains.

  • This is a great tutorial. They don't teach PHP at the crappy community college I go to and it seems a lot of companies want you to know it.

  • hardly anyone teaches php, get a book. learn yourself.

  • This is the best tutorial I have ever seen. So clear, so concise...and you anticipate issues that I might have. I love this so much--you just made my life so much easier (I was going to put a nav on every separate HTML page!).

  • I am a professional trainer, so I notice the subtle excellence. This is excellent. Thank you.

  • This is tutorial so clear man, thanks, its great

  • God Bless! and Thanks :)

  • thx for video. nice communication style, content and clarity...

  • DUDE, You're amazing!

I've been building html sites with 40+ pages for about a year now updating each seperately.

You've saved me a lot of time :)

  • I want to thank you for the video - I learned something useful that I've been using a lot lately.

  • great tutorial!

  • Very good information and the presentation was such that I could understand it and not be put to sleep.
