@TheCagedog Not really. If they're not fertilized by the male, they can take up to nine months to hatch. Getting my information from the professor of biology and the head of the agriculture department at the college I go to. He has hundreds and hundreds of Indian stick bugs.
how do they hatch?? i have diapherodes gigantea and i just want to know what signs i can look for to know they are hatching, it is my first time with them and i just want to know how to hatch them successfully, all i have to feed them is bramble , will that be ok????? thanx
@XiQsxEliteX Well, theres really no signs of hatching but what you can do if leave them in the cage with the bigger ones (ive done that for like 5 years) and just put a washcloth on top to keep the babys from comming out. :)
@XiQsxEliteX Bramble is what most of all breeds of stick insects eat, so bramble is perfect. To hatch them, you put them in their separate container away from the adult, it's not needed but it's easier when you're cleaning the main cage. Place them on a simple paper towel, and spray them with water lightly once a week to keep it humid. Also put in room temperature, moderately warm. You won't be able to tell if it's working until they hatch :)
Nice vid, what temperature did you have them in? did you use any kind of incubation? im waiting for my stick insect eggs to arrive and i was wondering if i have to keep them warm or just normal room temp.
i just had my first stick insect hatchling for the first time in four years. I had 150 eggs in a separate tank from the adults and i completly forgott about them for 9 months! I put a lamp on them for three hours yesterday and then i took it off when i went to bed......I woke up in the morning to find a tiny little hatchling chewing away on soem privit!!!!
mine just hatched today, well 3! They only took 4 monthes to hatch!

@Animalhelpchannel100 The eggs are round in shape, and the feces is not. The eggs look like they have a small dot on them as well.
