Thanks for this, eventually got around to doing it today & a similar thing happened like the top comment - didn't appear so went back to firelink shrine, quit game, reloaded & the dragon was there :) Thankfully I didn't die along the way & lose 10k souls!

Also the 1.05 patch addresses this glitch but I patched AFTER I killed the dragon :P

I've actually done this ONCE...then I died, dropped 7 humanities and 3000 souls, died again and lost them all. So I restarted, got back to the same point and now the dragon is playing hide and go seek. Might have to run back to the Firelink Shrine and head back. Cause fuck fighting that damn thing. Takes too god damn many arrows to kill it.

They're really not that hard if you fight them in an open area. If you don't mind being a little cheap you can also use the dragon or bombs to kill them fairly easily.

In my game I got a glich while in undead burg, in the sniper nest just before the burning barrel trap, I heard from this spot that the dragon used his firebreath and and I presume took hes own life, I suddely got 10000 souls at level 5 at the beginning of the game, but lost opportunity to get the drake sword;s

@hellsghost Finish Anor Londo (aka kill Smough/Ornstein) and then use the cracked black eye ord (sp?) to invade and kill Lautrec. Use the soul to bring the Fire Keeper back to life to restore the Firelink Shrine bonfire to life.

@anduin1 If you don't cut the dragon's tail off and do this, you will miss out on it. It's best to use a bow to cut his tail off before doing this.

If the dragon doesn't appear for you, I can confirm the fix recommended by kickazz007 and others: simply go back to Firelink Shrine, rest, quit the game and then reload. Make your way back to the tower (DOING NOTHING ELSE IN BETWEEN) and the dragon'll be there. If you engage with the dragon in any other way (such as the exploit where you let the dragon wipe out the baddies for 300 souls a pop) between resting at Firelink Shrine and returning to the tower, he'll be missing.

@saia100 I'd have to get on Dark Souls to be sure, but the torso and maybe the leggings are Eastern armor and the rest should be thief's armor. When you get the Eastern armor in Darkroot Garden, you'll have a better idea

The glitch still works, i just did it. I'm not sure which bonfires all work but if you go to the bonfire in darkroot garden (the one by the sealed door), kindle it, and come back to the tower you shoot it from, he will be there. I was running around and saw another video where the guy said to get it from there, and it worked!!

Dragon didn't appear for me, so I ran back to the firelink shrine and healed, and exited the game. Reloaded the save file and went back to the dragon and he was there. killed it in one shot. Then died of poison on the way back down before spending the souls and ended up back at the firelink shrine. then died on my way to get my souls back. FML!!!!

Worked for me, too. But for the first time dragon disappeared, so I headed up to Firelink Shrine, rested at the bonfire but..it didn't worked. I repeated step with Firelink but for this time I quited to main menu after resting. When I loaded my savegame and came to the tower - dragin was on it's place. So @SouthpawTRL don't give up! Just do it the way I did!

Ok guys, It is confirmed and I did it twice on 2 of my characters. What I did was after killing the Capra Demon, I went to the Fireshrine Bonfire and clicked it. I ran towards the Undead Burg Bonfire but didn't click it, but rather went up the ladder and ignore the stairs to the dragon and just went to the left side and then took the stairs going to the Black Knight. He is there. He showed to me twice. Other time I clicked on the Undead Burg but he wasn't there, so there you go!

@SkywalkerOG89 You would have to take the long way by crossing the bridge where you fight the Taurus Demon. Keep going along until you reach the actual bridge the dragon perches himself on. You need to run towards the dragon. About halfway down the bridge, you will notice a set of stairs to your right. Quickly run down the stairs or the dragon will breathe fire on you. Run all the way down and you will find the ladder you need to kick down.

@SouthpawTRL Actually, the dragon mysteriously disappears sometimes. Try going to the bonfire at Firelink Shrine, resting there, then coming back. That may fix the problem. It should still work until they release another patch
