I actually start to like Cromwell. I think he was a great statesman, even if I don't agree with his agenda. If I were a king, I would feel blessed to have such a servant. And, at least according to Wolf Hall, he was at the same time a very humane person. Preserved, closed, but very deep and beautiful inside, beneath all that bureaucracy, dissolution etc was hidden a kind man. Now I want to read more about the real Cromwell, to see how this fictional portraits match with the reality.
Ps, nice video! You're right, the lyrics do seem to fit with Cromwell - for example how he turned against Anne Boleyn within the space of 3 weeks, that suggests he was a deeper, more cunning character than many give him credit for. If you like Cromwell and haven't already read Wolf Hall by Hilary Mantel, you should - it's a really interesting and detailed read. Her research is impeccable!
I wish The Tudors was more historically correct - I love the time period but can't watch the programme without getting annoyed at all the inaccuracies and downright fiction. I'm a real pedant and should get over it but I can't - if it wasn't meant to be based on truth it would be great. I much prefer "The Virgin Queen" as it was more (though not completely) true to history and still managed to keep the show interesting and appealling to today's audience. Also, the soundtrack is great! :)
I actually liked Cromwell. He was funny at times. Except for the whole thing where he hated Queen Katharine of Aragon, Princess Mary Tudor and Queen Jane Seymour. My 3 favourite Tudor monarchs !:(
@TudorsGossipGirlfan: In Cromwell's defence (and I have to defend him because he's my fave, lol), I don't think he ever hated KOA and Princess Mary. He actually tried to help Mary during the Act of Supremacy thing (historically, anyway!) and KOA referred to him as her 'special friend' when she was in exile. Not so sure about Jane, though... Thanks for watching! :)
@TudorsGossipGirlfan I definitely wouldn't say he hated these ladies (historically and the show). He was actually quite polite towards KOA on the show, and he didn't have any interaction with Mary at all in the show, and he never had any real problem with Jane.

A nice coincidence how Hans Matheson played in both The Tudors and in The Virgin Queen. I love both!
