  • so your design requires 2 people to operate it, I would put in a differential for the tracks and have the ski do the steering, like an old WW2 german halftrack motorcycle.

  • All this guys designs are flawed. They look pretty but none of the vehicles are anywhere near practical. He's good at rendering 3d models though.

  • i'd like to see someone pedal that blasted thing. Do you know how much leg power you would need to move that thing a centimeter on dry land. Nevermind through snow...

  • mayb instead of having srait side ways tracks that would accumulate nsow quickly they would be slightly cut inward for better traction and possibly less snow pick up

  • i can draw pictures to! pedal powered car, plane helicopter you name it but if you build it and can pedal it in snow fuckin fantastic!

  • Nice concept i really liked it but do you have think about the fact that LOTS of power is needed to drive a track system, even more drive it trough snow i hope u got Awsome legs or maybe a 4 man system? ;-) but i like the concept maybe a bit high it will tens to drop on side on unstable terrain but keep work on it im sure u can make it real! Cheers

  • the shining fucking rules

  • I just watched The Shining last night . . . and I was thinking a pedal-powered snowcat would be sweet! The music reminds me of The Shining too . . .

  • i will made it lol

  • lol @ the music, totally ultra evil!!

  • Thats really cool...please shut the hell up

  • this video scared the shit out of me.

love the idea of it, i want one now

  • the music had me cracking up

OH NO THE SNOW CAR IS GONNA EAT ME!!!!

seriously, you should make it so the car can eat people.

imagine what it would look like.... HEHEHEHE!

  • Yeah, That's awesome...for a cartoon!!

  • well. to heavy and whats the usage? rescue missions after a avalanche? naa, sibiera? yeah. i think they just walk instead, antartica? you´ll die befor gettin one inch. great idea tough

  • ok its a nice design as long as weight is kept at a minimum....

but is that music from the 300 soundtrack?!

  • yes lol

  • yeah, but no yeah. This thing is a heavy cabin with tracks and that front bit. I don't think 2 people can actually pedal that thing. Great idea, but no. But if they used an engine however......

  • if they used an engine it would be a snow cat

  • unless they used ultra light strong metals, composite materials, but probably costly. I give'em credit for thinking it up.

  • That looks way to big to pedal

  • use snowshoes!

  • It won't work. I live with snow, and you can't pedal tracks, too much energy used by bending rubber tracks, especially when its cold!

  • savicrade, You've got a lot of interesting ideas, but just posting a blueprint isn't going to impress anybody. You need to be able to show at least a small-scale model that is functioning. You're on the right track, but you're tipping your hand too early. Keep your idea until you can show something working and you'll impress people a lot more.

  • these are ideas and ideas power innovation and invention.i admire people who devote time thinking outside the box.keep it up!

  • That thing would weigh 200 pounds. You couldn't pedal it through the snow one fourth as fast as you could walk.

  • everything is from the rubber ....try to walk

  • Huh?

  • LOL

  • i dont like it. screw you.

  • Not only is this way too heavy, but it has WAY too much contact with the ground. You would need a 20-gear gearbox just go get this thing going without burning out your legs. Look at other low-power snow transports for inspiration on future designs, they all make as little contact with the ground as possible while keeping weight at a bare minimum.

  • One of the only innovate or die inventions I actually like, has definite uses especially in rural areas of Alaska or Canada.

However, add in a small electric generator and a heater, nobody wants to be transported whilst freezing their gonads off :P

  • the best thing is that the tires does not have to be made from any metal ....

  • There are two pedal sets, so it requires to people to use it. But I think you'd be lucky to find one person who would want to ride in that =P

  • Not to be mean, but what's the "innovation"? Snow transport and warmth...it's called a snowmobile, and a jacket. And we all know how much batteries like being cold. The best electric snowmobiles go maybe 10 miles with hundreds of pounds of batteries. No way in hell one person could pedal that thing.

  • it only counts if you actually build one...

  • Excuse my lack of better terms as i try to make myself sound like i know anything about kinetics, but..

    the drive shaft sucks horribly.

you need at least a 3 point pulley system to reduce the amount of work the rider has to do, to make it anywhere near practical.

But honestly it look like a bastardized snowmobile crossed with skies.

  • this will never work. it looks way too heavy for one person to power it...

  • i like this idea, it could work for simple travel between short distances like in canada, as walking for 10mins there you can get frostbitten

  • I understand there's an invention called a "bicycle" which can be ridden in the winter.

  • not in the snow dumnass...

or do u hv a super bike that simply floats above the cold wet substance

  • Actually, I bike year-round. In the snow. Almost every day.

  • thats nice mang. u hv fun w/ that gay shit

  • have you ever tried to ride a bicycle, even one fitted for snow, in the snow? It's not as easy as you might think!

  • I think that would be rather impractical as well, since its meant for snow, that means its cold. If you are there pedaling in the cold in your little bubble, you will sweat. Once you sweat your cold weather gear will absorb the moisture and you will not really be able to stay warm any longer. This would be ok for like... a mile... but any less than that, it would be just easier to walk and anything further would be too far to sweat and what not for that long.

    neat idea though.

  • it is a warm inside

  • .that would be extremely hard to pedal...

  • elecreic motor inside with the baterry ,,,,

  • oooh...umm....btw not to insult but an innovator with some poor grammar...sleepy?

  • it has electrical motor behind

  • HAHAHAHAHA wtf ..whats wrong with a snowmobile ?

  • plus weight

  • This is impractical, it would be impossible to get the vehicle moving from a stopped position. It would be easier and more practical to make a sled with a sail on it.

  • Sounds like fun..lol

  • While I can understand some of the points made here (I'm not a engineer so bear with me) but perhaps you should also consider that this is a SNOW car, not a car car. Going fast in the snow on a regular basis is asking for trouble anyway.

Still, I can see some of the points made by others.

  • Also, I notice two sets of pedals. Two pilots?

  • yes

  • Now this thing looks a bit more practical. However, steering must require a lot of coordination, it looks like each pedal is hooked up to only one side of the car. What do you do if you only have one pilot?

  • What BlindMan? He's actually right... how are you going to get those tracks to go fast? Are you possibly suggesting low gearing? I certainly hope not, because that would make you a moron. You'd still be pedalling at 90 rpm to go at a terribly slow pace...

  • This would be good to train cyclists. 10 minutes pedalling those tracks and that cabin will give you legs of steel.

  • You're either kind of dumb, or have never ridden a bicycle with more than one gear.

  • dslunsford1 is right, there would be a LOT of friction in driving those tracks on top of the friction of pushing it through the snow. Even with two pedalers, it could only go like 5mph max. Fun idea and graphics though.
