  • These woman should not be taken as legitimate democratic voices...yes, most of them are democrats...but they are also idiots...Joy Behar is a fool and immature.

that being said, this Ziegler character is even more pathetic and immature...the media did not "trick" Palin into giving any answers...she gave them herself...she said the bank bailout was about "the healthcare reform that is needed"...she jumbled her words left and right...displayed ZERO intellect...and the American people took note.

  • No one in the media made her out to be an idiot, she did a pretty damn good job of that herself.

Attaching herself to this guy just makes her look even worse. People are laughing at her and this guy.

  • When Bristol's pregnancy came out, at least Obama said to leave that matter alone and it was for the family.

And Couric's point for that question was asking her what papers, jounals etc that she read to stay informed in government issues. Not something like, "Oh, you Alaskans are all the way up there and are some backwood people...what do you do up there??" Idiot. She just wanted to know how she stayed informed. Idiot.

  • Why is she acting like she's been the only person that has been hard pressed by the media? Or parodied on SNL? Or more importantly, why does she feel that Tina Fey exploited her? SHE APPEARED ON THE SHOW!! Why, oh why, would you go on the show, "raise the roof" during the rap, etc. when you feel your being exploited?? And I don't think Fey needs Palin to keep her job. She's done a great job of that for years without her.

  • This documentary is supposed to get us to view Sarah Palin as being competent and accused the media of being irresponsible. I am not convinced at all, these trailers still made of fun Palin, without even trying. This lady went on SNL during a campaign and gave her self negative publicity. Was that a wise choice? She can't even teach her own child responsibility and she disagrees with science on the fact that Polar Bears are endangered. SHE DOOMED HER OWN CAMPAIGN AND MCCAIN'S CAMPAIGN!!!!!!!

  • Dear Sarah,

When a person is campaigning for VP, journalist tend to ask you a lot of questions. that's their job. journalists ask questions like "what newspapers do you read?", "name a supreme court case other than roe v wade", "do you agree w/ the bush doctrine?", and "what is McCain's plan for Iraq?".

when a candidate response w/ answers like "what is the bush doctrine?", "i can russia from alaska", can't name a single newspaper, and "i'll get back to ya", i'm not voting for your stupid ass.

  • Sarah Palin is 100 % correct about the double standard. The vast majority of the media in this country is hideous.

    PALIN 2012!

  • also, also, also

Is that all this woman know how to say?

  • just trying to keep the up profile! Talking nonsense as usual. Give it up! No one is interested in your incoherent, incomplete sentences. Your inability to finish a thought, and although you have been fed the sound bite you clearly have no grasp of the issues.

A female George Bush! Don't fall for this nonsense America, and by the way it's not just the media, everyone knows you were running for vanity and not much else!

  • She is a big time loser

  • Go Sarah!! I love you!! Everyone is brainwashed, the media is horrible! Just wait until 2012. Hang in there there needs to true reform from someone like you. Do not listen to these other idiots, they will agree after four more years!!

  • shes a good person but she kinda twists people words

  • I don't understand this Women.......all the fault belongs to everybody else!!!! Does she not see some fault and blame in herself!!! I really hope she never ever gets a chance to step foot in the White House and be in charge of anything........her head is sooooo empty but her mouth is so full of nonsense. Something isn't right....i mean really when the media takes her interview and plays exactly how it happend word for word min. by min. how in the world can she say the media has been unfair 2 her

  • the timing for this could not be more perfect. earlier in the week Coulter comes out w/ a book about liberals playing victim. yesterday, Palin comes out blaming everybody except herself and her party for the lost of the election.

and that is the definition of irony.

  • You cannot compare your state with the lower 48. Your state is full of resources and has a population of less than 1Mill. New York has 20mill, and barely no resources. Even a donkey could balance Alaska's budget.Oh, and by the way I would have voted Republican, if you were not on the ticket!

  • Everything she says is STILL unbelievable because she lacks intelligence, experience, and a dependable record of "the truth". Sarah, maybe you should take on your own state and actually show up to govern there effectively before casting judgement on anyone else. Stop blaming everyone else for the fact that you come across as ignorant and low class... and make a new year's resolution to do something about your shortcomings as a politician.

  • maybe that will be her new year's resolution, to get some class, she is totally devout of that

  • still moron,...accept your shortcoming.

  • Everytime someone mentions "Miss" Coulter, my international coffee goes rancid.

  • Look, Fact remains, Sarah thinks of ONE person, and ONE person only, herself. Whatever she can pull over some unsuspecting persons eyes, is her "gift". She doesn't fool MOST of the public. Therefore, she lost, lost, lost.

  • She wasn't supposed to fool anyone. And what does Obama think of? Did he really say to himself "gee, I have no executive experience, voted present most of the time in the Senate, those poor underpriveleged deserve me in the worst way possible!"

Fact is she did the right thing. If she hated gays because of her religious bias, she wouldn't have done it.

  • Oh Darling... Obama won. There isn't much you can bring to the table to convince me that she would've been better. Even the feeble attempts to say that she is somehow "pro-gay" is even a stretch. Look, we have differed about this obviously insane woman from the git. For you to STILL be "all up on her" is not only sad, but a little repulsive. (See, I threw up a little)..

  • Well, Obama won because he was more conservative than John McCain. Do you really think McCain would have invited such a hated guy by the left like Rick Warren to his inauguration?

McCain was a darling of the media referred to as a "maverick" thousands of times by the NY Times before the primary ended. Then afterwards, he was more conservative than GW Bush.

Sarah was not the front runner. It was more valuable for McCain to introduce her to us for 2012 rather than her actually being VP.

  • if the only ef-up that Obama does is bring Rick Warren in to give his invocation... i'll forgive him.

  • I don't think that's a bad thing. Nor do I think it's nad that he now wants tax cuts for corporations and businesses or that Senate Democrats don't want his ideas of less-spending. As I say, read the news....he's getting into more trouble now from the left than he ever could with Coulter or Limbaugh.

  • What's with you and "Miss" Coulter?

  • LOL. I've been at this a long time. The subject matter is Sarah Palin. One asks themselves, "hmmm whom do liberals hate even more?"

    Ann Coulter comes to mind.

  • see... there it went again. Rancid.

  • Thats cause it's international. Take your carcus over to Dunkin Donuts and order a large Boston with 2 splendas.

  • LOL

  • Indeed. She is a big part of howobamagotelected. I hope she runs for president in 2012 so she can be howobamagotre-elected.

  • make her go away

  • She is all ambition and NO substance

  • I'm sitting here watching Cspan. Obama Panel confirmations. They are being grilled on the problems and plans. Very intense and informative. Serious business. Sarah Palin is whining that Katie's questions were, what, hard... misleading? This country is in deep shit. She can't answer what newspapers she reads! Outrageous. She needs to take a deep look to what she is doing. She's an embarassment to the Republican Party and most "educated" Republicans would agree.

    Joe the Plumber!! utter nonsense

  • People who love Sarah will always love her.

People who think they love Obama will decrease in the next four years now that voting "present" is no longer an option.

If I were liberals, I'd stop worrying about Sarah Palin and start thinking of ways to defend the trouble he's already causing in Washington or perhaps they haven't heard there's trouble in paradise with Obama versus the Senate and House Democrats over the taxation issues.

  • Awfully pessimistic there, my friend. Almost like you either expect or want the next president to fail. Pretty unAmerican lol

  • Actually I'm just showing the same respect to liberals' President as they did to mine. I feel it's my patriotic duty, at least.

And to the contrary, the news reports lately have liberals more angry at Hussein than Ann Coulter or Rush could ever be. Liberals on Capitol Hill are angry he wants to give businesses a tax credit. Liberals are mad he invited pastor Rich Warren to give the invocation at the inauguration. I'm really not too unhappy with the guy so far.

  • Well at least you make no attempts to deny your playing the party-loyalty game. Whoever would have won the election would have had a lot to sort out now, liberal or otherwise, so lets just hope what plays out works.

  • Not at all. liberals are dangerous!

You see now, the ones in Congress are already angry at him.

The ones that voted for him already are seething over Rick Warren. Newsweek even wrote an article "explaining" why it would be tough to close Gitmo. I wonder why they waited until now to explain that, hmmm.

  • again... let the man get into office before you spew.....

  • My God... Doesn't this woman realize that she isn't relevant at all?

  • Well, if she isn't relevant, why is she such a hot topic and still getting interviewed?

Sorry, but if it weren't for the media, Barack wouldn't be relevant. He was created by the media, and if it weren't for them, he would still, as he should be, be the jr senator from Ill that NOBODY knows anything about... now he is President elect B Hussein that nobody knows anything about.

  • Oh WHATEVER! The man isn't even in office yet... This tired ole bitty is still clinging on to her 15 mins. Say goodbye to all of this, honey! And welcome to oblivion.

  • Yeah, and none of that applies to Sarah Palin. But nice use of the "Hussein" card, that really adds a lot of validity to your statement ;) Cheers!!

  • Word!

  • Actually mentioning "Hussein" reminds me of another reason I love him. After months of liberals believing that using his middle name was vicious, suddenly he's going to use it as a christian to reach out to Muslim countries just as Christ reached out to the Jews. I do not hate Hussein (he likes his middle name, maybe it's you that hate it?). I am simply suggesting that he cannot vote present as President.

He's not so bad so far, I am not sure what you're problem is.

  • Not sure if it's his name that's my problem.

I think it's that some people are just afraid there is a lot of bigotry and xenophobia that still runs rampant in America and that some people exploit that for their own means. But then again, maybe all that is a thing

  • of the past.

  • You don't seem like a liberal, so I apologize for assuming you were one. And if you are one, then I suppose I am sorry for what I just said.

But yes, that is his name. (Barack Hussein Obama) and he wishes to be sworn in using it on election day.

In fact, he wants to use it to reach out to Muslim countries.

  • you will never change snorp... always the first to bring down a good time.

  • That's precisely why you love me, pnp.

Now, how about a hug? :-)

  • I can't hug you... I'm too busy laughing at this crazy bitch. :)

  • Your messages span back a half a day.

If you're still watching the same 9 minute video, perhaps Sarah (and I for that matter) can laugh WITH you.

Hey, perhaps Obama did bring us together,

  • maybe... But, leave it to Sarah to always make me laugh... ya know, when I need a lil pick me up, I watch something funny... And nothing makes me laugh more, than this very strange woman.

  • Well, perhaps you should join her on a hunting trip?

  • LOL not on your life! I've seen the turkey video...

  • Apology accepted, though I'm not sure which one to accept =)

No matter how much or little weight it actually has, if his name makes it harder for Muslim countries to associate the US as enemies of Islam, how is that a bad thing?

  • It's not a bad thing. The only problem is that the Koran, unlike the Bible, strictly prohibits relations amoung Jews or Christians - it's right in the beginning, sort of like their Ten Commandments.

Introducing Muslims to the Christian way of life is an excellent idea. I have no problem with him doing that.

As controversial as Christianity is, women, blacks, etc. have managed to consistently progress in this society.

  • But it was my understanding that we are a multi-vocal, secular nation.

  • Good Luck Suicide, Snorp has got his own warped sense of reality.

  • Well, we can be a "multi-vocal secular national" all you want, while 76% of us are Christians. If being a "multi-vocal secular nation" would turn Muslim followers away from hating us as they do - as instructed by the Koran, I'd sleep better. It's a gamble though and are you seriously trying to go to someone who believes something so profound to intriduce them to a "multi-vocal" lifestyle? It wasn't me who constantly reminded people how Christian I am, it was your President-elect.

  • We are a democracy that protects the voices of all, not simply sustained on a "majority rule" frame of mind.

Not all Muslims hate us, but if we continue to perpetuate a war based on religious ideology, regardless of who started it, then we've already contracted ourselves to a no win situation (unless the solution is mass murder, which I'm positive you would agree is not an option).

  • Okay, but knowing what the Koran says, and knowing how much more extreme Muslims as a whole are on issues like gay marriage, abortion, women's rights, etc. why are you first to defend them and ready to give them the benefit of the doubt when part of your mind is worried about Sarah Palin or Ann Coulter - who both live in a country where millions of people with millions of different thoughts and opinions continue to live free everyday?

  • Ann Coulter I'm not worried about, for obvious reasons. Even conservatives are divided on her. Sarah Palin however was in a place of much more potential power, despite what Olbermann says. I'm not necessarily defending Islam, so much as I am promoting the idea that we can recognize that the world is moving away from its regionalism and provincial ideology, and that the US should stand as an example of this departure. Palin seems (to me) to support the opposite of that direction.

  • I know that doesn't solve the problem of extremism (of any religion) but extremism can't just be solved with a different form of extremism.

  • Well, don't forget that extremism can also come in the form of "irreligious" as well. It knows no color or belief and today, the irreligious extremists are just as extreme as the Phelps are about their beliefs in God. Sarah Palin is the farthest thing from a religious extremist inasmuch as I am assuming you're not an "irreligious" extremist.

I'm sorry if I am frustrating you. I just think the benefit of the doubt that you hold power of is going to the wrong group.

  • Haha, no worries, this is great! Um, could you define "irreligious extremist"?

  • Oh Lord... here we go.

  • People who are irreligous and use every way they can to insult people with a religious belief. When people look at Shirley Phelps and go "oh typical Christian!" When someone blames the dragging death of James Byrd on the intolerance created by Christians. Those are statements and thoughts of irreligious extremists.

  • Muah!... Text book reply.

  • Which one?

  • the Shirley Phelps reference.

  • No she doesn't. She supports having her beliefs. I am not giving up mine, we aren't going to stop celebrating Christmas or recognizing it as the birth of Christ. She supports you having your belief. What we're doing here in the Western Christian culture is allowing all of us to coincide in peace without slaughter from conversion. How about we embrace good families like the Palins and then work on loosening up them Muslims first. Then if you want secularization, we can talk then.

  • "How about we embrace good families like the Palins" Oh, where to start.

  • Yes, one mom, one dad, same kids from same parents. Remember when Obama (as Palin said) asked his wife and family be off limits? You know Biden's kids were arrested and sued for scamming millions of dollars from a company. Of course not, all you knew was that Bristol was pregnant and decided to keep it and get married to do the right thing by her child just like her mother provided for her and her siblings.

  • Well, honey, if she's "all that" then why didn't she get elected... Seems to me that if she was able to con and old queen like you, then the rest of us shoulda been on board... I mean, c'mon. She did get 1 thing right though.... no one in their right mind would elect a backwards hillbilly gramma like this crazy woman.

  • ya know... it's a class thingy.

  • Okay that one almost got a thumbs-down. How does one con? By graduating college, working hard, having experience in many levels of government, getting a good approval rating under her governance or is it the maverick decision she made in 2005 on gay rights. Ahhh, what's that you say? Guess what? You didn't hear about that one either. Just call on Uncle Steve to give you the facts. ;-)

  • mavericky decisions does not a VP make.

  • Doesn't it? She vetoed a Bill in Alaska that would have stopped a previous Supreme Court decision to deny benefits to gay partners of state employees. She didn't do that to win gay votes or because she was Christian or because she has gay friends. She did it because she was aware of her Constitutional duties as Governor. It was then put on a ballot and passed in a state where gay marriage itself was banned years prior. No, it's not "marriage" but it was "progress." What did Obama/Biden do?

  • That didn't come out right - as a result of her veto, GAYS GOT THE BENEFITS when the Senate was trying to block them from getting it.

  • Big Deal. Most states in the union have domestic partnership benefits in one sense or another. She prolly just needed her hair done that week. *Snap*

  • Be careful with all that snappin'

You just don't like her because she wears Karen Walker's hairdo better than Karen herself does.

  • HOW DARE YOU! put Sarah and Karen in the same sentence! Turn in your gay card RIGHT NOW!!!! :) And give back those toasters!

  • Well I'm definitely more the Will and you're more the Jack so I might have to take you up on that. ;-)

  • Don't assume baby.. it'll get you into trouble... :)

  • Wait, I thought she (and Biden) both agreed that they didn't want to allow gay marriage.

  • Yes they did. I just described a Bill she vetoed in Alaska. But Obama also denounces it. So, we selectively pick Republicans when in essence, it's a "people" issue proved by all the Obama voters in California and Florida who voted Prop 8 when their respective states went overwhelmingly for Obama. It's so bad, the liberal party no longer asks for gay support, they expect it.

  • Soooo, just wondering what you think, is marriage defined by Christianity?

  • No. I think marriage is a union, a 400 year tradition between one man and one woman. Some put a religious cast on it under their own free will. But it's not a civil rights issue as people without civil rights in the past were still allowed to marry granted it were one man and one woman.

My personal opinion on marriage really isn't the case though. What is are the political avenues we use to get it if we want it. When we realize it's more about the "people" than a party, we'd get further.

  • Why don't we blame the media for Bristol's pregnancy too! Accountability is lacking, you drag your family to get the woman vote on the conservative stage and expect the media not to touch you and your family. As a conservative mother, Bristol should have been taught abstinence, (oh only liberals know that doesn't work). Perhaps birth control taught in Alaska schools (you don't believe in this). The media didn't cause your lost, what comes out of your mouth did. Take ownership of it, move on!

  • I don't think with 76% of the US being Christian anyone is going to get in the way of your beliefs. Look, I know campaigns get dirty, so maybe I was just a little afraid that too many people were buying into the "Real US" vs the "Anti US" thing.

Anyway, you mention a 'Western Christian culture' which sounds more tolerant of difference by your description. Perhaps secularization has already taken some effect on religion.

  • I don't think that anyone is getting in the way of my beliefs. I also do not think that secularization is taking over. If it were, I'd feel threatened. I went to Mass a couple weeks ago for Christmas and there is something to me on how the community of all races and origins came together to wish one another well. Christianity has always been the most liberal of the big three (Judaism and Islam being the other two). It's concept loves us as sinners as Christ's blood wipes them away.

  • She made some good points, including but not limited to the attacks on her family. The media did listen to Obama and left his family alone, but because she is a Republican, she doesn't count and her family doesn't matter. That's the media and the media truly did get Obama elected, even they admit that.

  • Bitter, party of one?

  • Gov. Palin does not speak in complete sentances. Just talking points.

  • I will admit that the attacks on her family would be rough...nonetheless, when Hillary got bashed by EVERYONE...nobody really raised the "sexist" flag...but now that Palin feels like she is treated unfairly... she's raising the objection. Hillary was treated negatively, but the opponents smiled and looked the other way, but now they have "concern". With that said, Palin's wit seemed not to help her at all.

  • This lady keeps forgetting she is dumb. That is the only biased here

  • Sungodess123-"This lady kees forgetting she is dumb. That is the only BIASED here" (emphasis mine) Interesting, you can't even use the proper spelling and/or tense yet Sarah Palin is the dumb one. :) Ok...

  • Sarah Palin did damage to herself....no one else did it. People have looked at her record and it's not impressive. She is a whiner and I think she is going to do herself in. Her ego is unbelieveable.....I say...goodbye and good riddance.

  • its not a sex thing its your an idiot thing

  • All of a sudden the media treats her like they have been treating every Democrat for the past 8 years and she whines about it? After 8 long years of us being told lies by the administration and the media parroting those lies as the water carriers for the Republican party, NOW she takes offense? This woman is simply a monumental loser whose 15 minutes of fame is OVER! Those that still like her are just clueless clones of the neocons.

  • With all due respect, Palin is on her way to becoming a professional whiner. Even in this interview, she can't / won't give a specific answer to "What do you read?" "Publications". Which publications?

I disagree that the media would have treated her that much differently had she been on the Democratic ticket. Her lack of substance is her downfall.

That said, I do agree that reliance on Blogs rather than Facts is a dangerous trend in media and public thought.

  • If she agreed with Obama saying "family was off limits", why did she drag hers around like theater props?

  • exactly!

  • And let's pretend it was irrelevant that her 17 yo was pregnant and that Palin had an insane story about her labor - which began in Texas.

  • I agree.
