F-22 will not feed Joe Average. US has enough weapons to defeat anyone dumb enough to try to invade. Obama does everything right. He is supporting those people that actually need it. Leaving Iraq was a good move. Bush fucked up.
@Zoomtronic1 actually the f-22 had a 244/2 kill death ratio at red flag. honestly, its only cancelled because obama would rather waste money on shitty healthcare and stimulus crap.
I like russian aircraft the most but can certainly see and appreciate good craftmanship when I see one, just like this one. And the F-16. And the F117, and the B2. Both countires can make good planes when they want to comrads.
@slayer2961 The Pak will need to prove itself in due time. Right now it's just in testing. So far the info released shows that its radar cross section & avionics are inferior to the F-22. We'll need to wait & see about how agile it is. I read an article that there are some difficulties with producing its engine so if that's the case I'm sure its maneuverability won't meet expectations. The Su-37 that u see on YT is only a demo plane not combat ready like the F22
@TheTequilaShooter I saw the the T-50 demo, it wasn't pulling off half the manuvers that are standard for an F-22 demonstration. I don't know if that means it can or can't do it though.
The Su 37 terminator can do a mighty hell of a job in the manuevering aswell :P. The PAkFA is not that bad eighter if not an equal counter to the F-22. But as others have pointed outin the comments about which is better are all from eye perspective' s . i dont think most of us work in the militairy airforce, and even if som1 did there probably not allowed to give out any real statistics to the public just like that.
Why are we spending so much money on a program making crappy products. Who's approving these contracts, we should fire he or she. America will soon be a third world county soon enough if all we think of doing is giving large amount of money to greedy corporations instead of management it smartly. What happening to America. I think we are being run by idiots. Idiots electing other idiots and running are county to the ground.
How is it possible to spend this much money on ANY aircraft and get such a pathetic result? The Russians know how to build more with less! This has been the hallmark of USAF and USN aircraft procurement and production for years. The F-4 was built "without guns" because dog fighting was "obsolete" then the US pilots were getting massacred by the NVAF MIG's "up close"! McDonnell-Douglas had to scramble to build an "add on gun pod" to remedy this critical miscalculation! Nothing Changed!
The f-22 is being pulled because it was getting it's arse kicked in mock dogfights. Stealth can be useful in some areas. But in a fighter it's useless.
@WiiiRRRttyy : Wow, really... How sure are you about this? I heard the exact opposite on the most recent red flag operation... I hope anyone else can show us resources or website link where this testimony can be true for either way...
@riflebore I think it goes both ways ,it depends on the enemy your going against. in my aeronautical engineering university it was said that more advanced radars actually pick up the heat signatures left from when the stealth skin absorbs or deflects the radar waves. Because when waves are hitting a surface it vibrates, creating this heat.
Therefore making it more or less useless in some situations, altough i dont think you could fit such a powerfull radar in a plane, its probably quite big.
@riflebore the atoms vibrate that is, atleast that s what my physics book says, either way i think stealth is probably handy in long range runs overall but in close combat dogfights it will probably not make that much difference if your enemy has a laser track/lock missile system on board. i can be wrong tough :/ just sharing some university gossips :P
@slayer2961 U R right that you're wrong. The F-22 has proven to be hard to lock on even at WVR.
"When the Raptor finds itself in a dogfight, it is no longer beyond visual range, but the advantage of stealth isn't diminished. It maintains "high ground" even at close range.
"I can't see the [expletive deleted] thing," said RAAF Squadron Leader Stephen Chappell, exchange F-15 pilot in the 65th Aggressor Squadron. "It won't let me put a weapons system on it, even when I can
see it visually through the canopy. [Flying against the F-22] annoys the hell out of me."
Lt. Col. Larry Bruce, 65th AS commander, admits flying against the Raptor is a very frustrating experience. Reluctantly, he admitted "it's humbling to fly against the F-22," - humbling, not only because of its stealth, but also its unmatched maneuverability and power."
@TheTequilaShooter "It won't let me put a weapons system on it, even when I can" -- well, if you make a rookieproof plane, it will also be ace-proof... from inside.
(I use UNIX-like operating systems on regular basis since 1998 and can testify that automating things while letting the pro do it his way is *hard*, so one of the two worlds is rather to be chosen)
@mshigorin Your comments make no sense at all. That quote that I provided is directly from a pilot from the UK so if you cannot handle the truth then that's your problem.
@mshigorin I'll find the exact quote for you tomorrow when I have more time on how the F-117 was shot down. From what I understand is that the F-117 flew the same flight path 4 nights straight. Think about it logically, would so many nations invest billions into steatlh aircraft of their own, if 60's tech could already detect and take it down? I'll get back to you tomorrow.
@spencerhughes2255 The F-22 however have been cleared for below 15 000 feet training flights, and I don't believe the air shows of <10 000 feet will be a problem.
they have probly already corected this problem by now love the F-22 go USA

@TheTequilaShooter I don't object to the quote :) From what I've read, Serbs didn't *lock* on that F-117 either. But they downed it. Get my drift?
