Dual the Sun is Eugene and Hilda, Mao is not part of it or the extensions at all actually. the fact he was showing up during the extensions is unknown to me, but my thuoghts are set on since it leads up to blue earth, which heals your whole party, they have it showing the full party to show they will be affected...again just my thoughts on it^^' but fact is its mostly Hilda for the extensions, Eugene and hilda for DtS and no Mao involved...
Mao is involved in Dual the Sun extension, hence why you need the second controller on Mao to the the button configuration. This has been removed at the PSP port where hilda is the only one chanting and casting the extensions.

i have look a loot of time for this game buth is only Japan version, even the NTSC-US everything is in Japan language and the write the same.Pls if somebody know an torrent where i can find at least an version with english language! Thx a loot
its cool ... im still playing this game on my PSP right now but i dont know how to cast hi-ougi. Just doing skill and ougi overtime. Can anybody tell me how to use it ? Or maybe gimme the link full guide of this game.
To use a Hi Ougi, you have to fill up a hidden guage by fulfilling various conditions, such as activating the latent abilities on your equipment, and once the last enemy in battle is below 10% HP, there will be a trigger that says something like "FINALITY HIT X BUTTON", press the X button and voila!
The 10% rule is only for boss battles, but there does need to be one enemy left. Also, you can do one only every 6 random battles. The exception is if the next fight is a boss fight.
With Duel/Dual the Sun and its extensions, some of them sound like Mao saying them instead of Hilda... I read somewhere that Mao has to be in the party, so does he actually say some of them?
Tytree kind of reminds me of Stan in the sense that he feels the need to yell all the time in battle in a very girlish voice, yet he still completely dominates (like Stan).
Cool,I'm going to get this for the PSP. Do you mind telling me why this "Duel the Sun" and it's extensions are so hard? Are there like UBER button combos or something?
Well, most of the entensions aren't that terrible, but the last extension requires you to press L2+SQUARE+TRIANGLE+X+CIRCLE exactly 11 times in the span of about 3 seconds. Playing solo and having to switch between controllers doesn't help either. -_- They've most likely changed this for the PSP version though as people would probably end up dropping their PSPs if they tried to do those kind of button combos on them.
Ha ha, I'm not a pro by any means. Just stubborn as hell. ^^ And the extensions are meant to be done by two people, but you get this amazingly rewarding feeling if you do them by yourself (until you think about how much time you wasted trying to pull them off, LOL).
It's not the buttons so much as it is making sure that you press each button combination a precise number of times, remember the 8 different combinations, AND doing each in a very small amount of time.
Celsius Calibur and Ryuuko Metsugazan just have to be my favourite out of all the Rebirth Hi-Ougi's, closely followed by Inferno Drive and the Prismic Stars extension of Duel the Sol. XD!
@lanyn i kno u posted this years so it may be pointless XP but its actually Maxwell Lore not Maxwell Roar but besides my whiny rant XP awesome job on the subs
Thanks! Yeah, I'm pretty pleased with the video quality too. Problem is I can only do this with shorter clips (I think 2:30 is my limit before the quality starts to deteriorate again, but I need to play around with it some more).
And yes, I'm uberly happy about the extensions! ^_^
Loved it man, seriously. I had been trying to figure out what they were saying during their Hi-Ougis. Only thing I knew was Veigue's "I shall engrave it upon your very being!" since I've heard Valkyrie say it before many times.
Yeah, I am heavily influenced by Valkyrie Profile and it probably shows. ^^ I at least tried to make Veigue's line slightly different so that it wasn't a carbon copy of Valkyrie's line. =P
Well, assuming that the "10% HP remaining" rule didn't exist for bosses, only the last guy would have survived Duel the Sun w/ all of its extensions. Duel the Sun did 122,358 points of damage to the poor bug I targeted and the final boss has 210,000 HP on Normal Rank. So the answer to your question would be "not much." ^^
Wyrm Wrath (Veigue/Annie)
Thousand Braver (Tytree)
Inferno Drive (Mao)
Final Embrace (Veigue)
Infinitia Strike (Tytree)
Light Blast (Eugene)
Celsius Calibur (Veigue)
Crimson Haze (Tytree)
Duel the Sun+Aquarius Sphere+Prismic Stars+Brightest Gate+Explosion Nova+Maxwell Roar+Dimensional Material+Blue Earth (Hilda)

Is it me or do none of the "Mage" characters have any hi ougis together?
CinnabonChan 3 years ago
Only combinations of up-close fighters and mages can perform hi-ougis.
YZorker 3 years ago 2
its always a mage+fighter combo for these :p

Heh, Stahn pulls off long flowing blond hair and still looks manly. In anime and games, thats tough. :)

Cool!!! Great... but you could have just translated "Hi-Ougi / Ougi"...
Fine about not translating the move itself but atleast the word "Hi-Ougi / Ougi"
It's "Hi-Ougi / Ougi" = "Supreme Attack", "Ultimate Assault"
Anyways great vid!!! :)

11 TIMES?! HOW THE HELL DID YOU DO IT. O_O
And you also need 2 people to do it? Oh my god... You're definitely pro. xD

LOL I would get a sense of pride, then be smacked by someone for spending my time doing that. XD
And oh shit, I have the PSP Port, I can not do that combo yo. I'd break my PSP cause I press the button so hard.

... doing the extenssons on your own is something I shall forever admire *is not even going to try*
LittleLinor 4 years ago
Honestly, I think it's more of a combination of me being stubborn and having entirely too much time on my hands rather than talent. =P
It is an awful lot of trouble for an extra 100,000 EXP and 15 odd Bonus EP though considering the amount of effort involved. >_>

Yeah, but Rukia says it for her Bankai too in that one Bleach fighting game, so it seems to be a popular line ^_^
And that's no prob, part of translating is improvising within reason.

From what I've seen of it, though, Valkyrie Profile rocks to an extreme extent, so that's okay then. XD!
