  • haha this is the version of the call of the wild that i saw at school last year XD

  • This book is so sad. Within the first chapter, I started crying...

  • @tiffany4evah

I know what you mean! I just finished reading it for the first time. Fantastic book but very harsh and violent. I have a hard time crying over movies or books (even when I feel like it), and I didn't cry during this book, but I misted a little! It's really really good.

  • @AnotherSchmoe Teachers are having students read this book as a school lesson?

  • @Clay4legacy yeah... i have to read it for summer hollidays

  • Nice vid and music. I just finished the Call of the Wild and I loved it. I also stained my deck while listening to it too. Audio Books Rock !

  • great movie. great song.com

  • Where can u find this movie, the only ones I can find are Jack londons call of the wild. :(

  • poor curly!

  • luv this video!!!

  • this song always makes me cry

  • The buck was sweet! movie was sweeter!

  • IM LOVED THE DOG

  • cp......................................

  • this is the remake where buck is a leonburger in the old one hes a german shepherd in this one(new one)spits is a german shepherd a realy gorjus one! not very big tho lol he fights buck and loses but of corse in real life a leonburger would get destroyed bye a german shepherd lenonburgers are bred to be family pets

  • u never know cuz them leons got potential man they come from tha mastiff family dont underestimate them.

  • my step dads brother and sister in law own to of them and i kno a breeder who breeds english style gsd and leonburgers they are so diffrent in nature leonburgers are extremly loveing and soft and has barly any prey drive what so ever and i mean litrurly they might case a ball but when they catch it dont even pick it up whislt german shepherd are mutch more agressive and have alot more prey drive leonburgers are soft and would back down from most fights

  • yes but that also depends on the dog and the owners.... i have a german shepherd and she wouldnt hurt a fly.

  • @dizzybrowngirl yes some dogs are like that but a german shepherds inbuilt instinks are alot more wild and dangerous then a leonburger normaly:)

  • yeah they are meant to be but here in spain they are really aggresive until you go inside the gates...lol then they roll over and expect you to pay atention to them lol ..... they are great family dogs because they are loyal to their owners.....:D

  • @dizzybrowngirl lol try hurting a person that a german shepherd loves and ul be paying attention to the face that your face is in its mouth they are fouriously protective of there family but yes they are loving and amzeing family dogs...great with kids:P

  • @ThePacman994

Yeah there's a German Shepherd that lives in my neighborhood, she runs around loose all day without ever been chained up, been here for a few years and never caused any problems, one of the nicest sweetest dogs I've seen, she likes to watch people walking around outside but usually doesn't come too close, only goes real close with her family. She's always out keeping an eye on their little daughters while they play on their swings and slides. No one's going to mess with them lol

  • @dizzybrowngirl lol i'd like to see you walk straight in to my yard or house you'd get a nasty surprise from my G.S.D. female !

  • lol i never said all XD

  • Leonbergers have never been a working breed ! they are very placid and easy going there is no aggression in them !

  • so? wat does workin breed gotta do wit anythin? pomeranians aint even a dog in ma standards and even they can b mean as fuck. u meen to tell me that that beast of a dog will never get froggy if he has to. u dont make sense man. i know they aint tha bully type which is a good thing but they dont take no shit. peace

  • the dog's were bred to be totaly non aggressive and make awesome pet's but compared with a working breed of an equvalent size these dog's pale in comparison to a G.S.D. yet alone something like a C.A.O. or any flock guarding breed !

  • i read the book. Buck is a saint brenard

  • OMG! I WANNA WATCH IT! do you know where i can watch it online?

  • Wow... Its sad but also beautiful, you were really good making it! :')

  • OMG!! the book is amazing. I want to try watching the movie later.

  • when i watched the movie today i couldn't bare to watch the dogs fight to the death so i turned away as soon as i saw the dogs get ready to fight

  • Buck is a mix between German Shepherd and St. Bernard, says in the book.

  • no scotish shepherd not german shepherd and saint bernard

  • in tha movie he is actually a leonberger. great dog! they were breed to look like lions i think. its like they're as bushy as a st. bernard and as fierce as a rottwieler wen they need to be.

  • @kickass5:

    my brother had a leonB.

they are on the begining mor bears than a dog...but they are big fluffy....and do drooling, until you stand with the knees in the drol¨XD but sweet dogys!

  • I read the book, i loved it but i LOVE dogs so i was making me tear up quite a bit. ;)

  • what is name to Films

  • its sooo sad wen i read the book (well half of it) i was practitcally crying

  • thats a leonberger dawg

  • what the fuck buck is a siberian husky

  • He isn't i have a husky and buck a husky his is leonberger

  • in my grandpa's book, which is now mine, it says buck's father was Elmo, a huge St. Bernard, and his mother was Shep, the Scotch Sheepdog (like a rough collie)

It says he had the strength and muscle of his father, and the speed and aglity of his mother.

  • Yea that might be true but sometimes the book or film don't tell the real truth lol :)

  • @michaelaaa7 yes, but if you think about it, doesn't a leonberger look like what you would think of when it says a saint bernard scotch sheepdog cross?

  • lol is the first dog u seee fag u!!

  • Buck is not a husky. He is a collie/st. bernard mix in Jack London's original story. In other film versions Buck is played by a st. bernard and german shepherds.

  • i am reading the book. its a great book

  • Hello we're doing a project and need a clip of video, would it be alright to cut a piece of yours out to use?

    Vielen Dank

    Emily

  • i read the book, super sad!and want to see the movie!

  • I loved the book and I so want to see the movie!!!

Although like was stated in a previous comment, this isn't the original breed Buck is in the book.

  • I've read the book :)

  • was that curly and that pshyco dog fighting?

  • That dog on 1:48 should've looked like Buck. I have both books. Call Of The Wild and White Fang.

  • thanx for the song the book is ok but i really want to see the movie someone please upload it and send me the link thank you

  • haha yeah we were watching the movie too, we haven't finished it yet...

I like buck better has a german shepered

  • Help me find the movie please, or send me the link! PLEase please please, i need it for my homework!

  • we read the book and today we watched part of the movie. the book was ok, but the movie (i think its the newer one) is so retarded! john thornton is on this trail trying to find buck (more like stalking!) and he trips on NOTHING, and falls down this hill thing like 20 feet in slo mo!! XD it was HILARIOUS! i almost fell out of my chair & i couldnt stop laughing, so i had to hold it in! i was the only one still laughing. anyways john falls and he doesnt even get up which makes even FUNNIER!

  • im just chekin this out 4 a report 4 my reading class annyway i loved the book =)

  • What breed wa\as spitz? I hated spitz he was so mean to buck. Even more mean then humans to animals. only SOME humans for people who might take this offensive. But you have to understand im just giving the truth not hurting your feelings.

  • The book didn't specify what breed Spitz was, although he was probably a white spitz. In the movie, it seems that he's either a German Shepherd or a Belgian shepherd.

  • no in the movie its kurdish kangal

  • I f you think the dog looks like a Kurdish Kangal in the movie then you were ripped off by a breeder. The dog in this movie is very obviously a Leonberger which looks nothing like a Kangal.

  • can someone tell me wat narrative mode the movie is in i'm kinda confused about

    Thanks

  • Cats4ever: Lol this is awesome. I haven't watched it yet.

  • aww i really did love the book

  • I'm reading the book today [=

  • I love this movie! I have it on VHS, does anybody know if it's on DVD too?

Where did you get this video? When I was downloading it, I just got a older (or newer) versjon =/. I can't find this one.

  • It's unclear what Buck was, but if you look at some of the original pictures, Buck could be an old type Leonberger. Bigger than the current Leo's (32" max at the withers currently). Leoonberger's are well adapted to the cold climate and they are known for their carting ability. Buck could have been a Leo but it's hard to say. This story is true for the most part, but the breed of Buckis in question.

  • If you read the book he was a St.Bernard/Scottish Shepherd hybrid.

  • You're probably referring to the breed that played Buck in the movie. It's a Leonberger. In the first chapter of the book it clearly states Buck was a Scottish Shepherd/St. Bernard mix.

  • i read the book just a few weeks ago

    *tears*

  • he looks like cujo

  • LOL Cujo was a St. Bernard, which Buck obviously is not... I haven't read the book, so I have no idea what he was in the book, but in the movie he does closely resemble a leonberger.

  • he is a mix between a shepherd and a St.Bernard

his mother was a German shepherd and his dad was a St.Bernard.

  • His mother was a Scottish shepherd, not a German shepherd.

  • Scottish Shepherd & St.Bernard. However, those 2 breeds would not give you this dog. Which is very obviously a Leonberger.

  • In this version of the movie, it is a leonberger. If you look at what are believed to be real pictures of Buck, he does resemble a Leonberger but most likely is not.

  • well that because most movies based on books are incredibly wrong, it said in the 1st chapter of the book he was part scotch shepherd and part st bernard

  • Comment removed

  • I thought the book was a lot better than the movie

  • i'm readin this in class and it's sad 2 here ebout the dogs like Curly bein eaten and Dolly getting an ax 2 her head. :-(

  • great book, but i didn't imagine buck to be like that

  • I LUV Call of The Wild! makes me sad what happens to Buck and some of the characters in the story what they go thru to survive. =(

  • Ive never seen the movie. i love the book, so im sure the movie is just as good ^^

    great vid! 5/5

  • I love the song ^-^

  • great

  • im reading the book right now and i dont understand it like at all

  • lol.. its not that hard the vocabulary i can understand but how old r u and wats ur reading level!?!?!?!?

  • If the reading level is pretty low, I can understand it... the writing style is little bit old-fashioned, but's really not THAT bad. It's an AWESOME book... it's the first one I've decided to reread twice. Usually I get sick of books when I read them three times, but not Call of the Wild!

  • hey does any one know where i can download the movie? i want to download the whole!

please tell me..it will be much appreciated

  • lol i finished the book as any1?!?!?!

  • i tried reading the book but it was way way too sad for me. I was like balling the whole time.

Ik heb deze film een jaar geleden gekocht,

ze hadden in één of andere speelgoedwinkel een hoop oude films die weg moesten, en daar zal call of the wild tussen. Geen idee of je deze nu nog kan kopen.

  • Buck didn't look like that. Spitz was mrdured and Judge miller wasn't skinney were was john thorton? Perrault and Francois? No were.

  • Spitz was so mean, but it was sad when he died

  • Pleeeeeasse upload this!!I lost the dvd DSXXX

  • This is the best dog movie ever made!!!

    I´ve seen it.

  • darn it! my teacher made me do a book report on this book. Its pretty good ^_^

    but the other one:

A World Lit Only By Fire.

    is horrible!

seems like in the medieval times there were:

wars, evil priests, prostitutes, family sex, etc.

    strange book :P

  • its a fun book to read

  • this movie is so sweet and awesome! I tryd to download it but I just got the 1972 version and it's not the same.. I like this version best =/

  • This version is from 1992 I downloaded from mininova and it's good! ;)

  • When I Was Redaing The Book I Nearly Cried When Spitz Died :(

  • oh thanks! don't give spoilers!

  • I hate when Curly dies. RIP Curly. :(

  • Buck looks so cute :)im reading this story, at the end chapter, thx for video

  • im reading it two. but someone told me hes a saint bernard but in my book it doesent match the description. the book is good but i kinda hate it becuz it makes me cry when they hit buck and when curly dies.

  • I love the last master of buck

  • is there a movie on youtube of this complete

  • im in grade seven and ialready red the book its awsome but for the entire movie john thorton is his master instead of francoir and peroui

  • Actually, first its the judge, then the two nice guys, then the mean guy the girl and the other guy, then john and the other two. Then he's wild.

  • im reading this book, and its great,i had no idea there was a movie form,i wanna see it now

  • We read this book, it is sooooooooo good, also i wanna see the movie! :)

  • i would like to thank you doggygirly for posting this.. i have been on the internet for an hour and you seem to be one of the few to make a short for Call of the Wild and do a good job

    thank you

  • i like this movie i love dogs and wolfs

  • anyone know where you can find the theme song from "call of the wild"?

  • Spitz is cute.

Too bad i can find any pictures of him on anything i type in.

And i pictured buck as.... well cuter.

    Oh well

    Great book

how is white fang? i was thinking of reading that next

  • I thought it was pretty good. White Fang has a very interesting phobia... Well you'll find out when he goes to San Francisco ;)

  • i read white fang.its nice and has a happy ending

  • can some please tell me why the most call of the wild buck is german shepherd i have the one on dvd

  • its because breeders dont really have interest in breeding half St. Bernards and Scottish Shepherds. The German Shephered may look most close to that mix, you can tell the St. Bernard resemblence and most of a shepherd

  • yes, when that dog (Curly) was attacked fot the others dogs, she died. I'm reading this book, right now, but I rather to see the movie.

  • hey did that dog that was being attacked by other ones died?

  • jack london books are always a treat.

  • as i read the book i now Buck wa part st.bernard but i kept seeing a german shepierd

  • Buck in this movie is played by a Leonberger which is believed to be orignally bred by crossing the Newfoundland, St. Bernard, and Great Pyrenese. The only problem with this is that the coat of a leonberger is typically void of white so the Great Pyrenese may be a stretch. The breed was developed in 1846 so it's really hard to say what dogs were involved but given the look they have as puppies, I would say the Caucasian Ovtcharka may have had a role at some point.

  • i love this movie but at the end it is really sad when the guy dies i almost cried but I still like it

  • You have to admire the Leonberger. That breed is almost perfect. A worker, a friend, a soldier. Given the Leonberger was never bred for a specific job but it has to be one of the most versatile. I love this dog. It makes the perfect watchdog, guard dog, and family pet. I challenge anyone to say any different, the dog has webbed feet for god's sake. It swims as great as it runs. A truly amazing breed.

  • anyway the huskie at 02:02 very cute , don't know staring at wad =D

  • whaa the man very rough to Buck at 01:36 to 01:40

  • I totally imagined SPITZ a different way in ma mind...

good vid tho..but where can i view the whole thing?

  • ehhh...where's Jon Thornton?why after Buck lie down on the snow then no more?didn't show John's face...

  • also...i mean..if thornton died...it would have been totally useless..cause they mined gold..and now it was going to waste...

Was that how London really wanted it to end?

  • In, the book thats how it ends.

  • It´s SO sad at the end of the movie where John Thornton dies :(

  • well actually....they dont actually say he died...even though it is obvious he did when the camp got attacked....but i still think the yankees took him as hostage..somehow

  • waar vindt ik deze film, Ik zou um graag willen zien :)

  • This one looks waaaay more accurate then the retarded original... What year did this come out?

  • thats sucks!

not the movie, i mean Buck.

in the book his mom was a border collie, and his dad was a saint bernard or something like that, you know?

  • I don't know

I have not read the book

  • i just re-read it a little.

yeah, his dad was a saint, his mom was a border.

how many movies of this are there?

of the call of the wild?

  • No-one really knows what the Leonberger originated from but it definitely seems that it has a penchant for snow. St. Bernard, Great Pyrenese?, not sure but they are amazing to say the least.

  • The problem is, if you cross a border collie with a st. bernard you would most likely get a dog of unimpressive size and bone structure. So given that it was made a movie the Leonberger makes more sense with it's impressive size, athleticism and strength.
