  • bird is the key!

  • everyone knows that only Bleu du Maine sheep can fly, and only to Maine

  • Is everyone aware that this was the first ever Monty Python sketch to be filmed? Aren't I the smarmy little 'git for knowing this. I suppose I'm better than all of you now. I know you wish you were me but you will never be. You could read a book in the luminous radiant glow of my superiority. It's too bad you can never know and understand the depth of Monty Python like I can. Don't be sad. There are other things for you to do in this life. Perhaps I'll let you wash my car.

  • @NelsonClick First off, no I wasn't aware of that, that's very interesting.

Second, may I please be permitted to grovel, sir? XD

  • @wahaya2

Ha, ha, ha. Thanks for getting the joke. I bought a Monty Python book years ago and it lists all the sketches and the order they were filmed. Thanks for replying and now for something completely different: a man, well, more than a man, a GOD whose personality is so totally wonderful that I would rather be sealed into a pit of my own filth than dare tread on the same stage with him. I give you the incomparable, superior human being Harry Fink. I'm a loud proud Python nerd.

  • John cleese cracks me up.. the fake French stuff was just amazing :)

  • @TheRedGynger Actually, he speaks pretty good French, but his accent is atrocious, lol

  • meh-meh...could it be that the "flying sheep" is a wordplay with the word "ship" as in "spaceship"? (I'm trying to make sense out of a python sketch hahahhaha)...

  • one thing is for sure, the sheep is not a creature of the air

  • This show is pure gold!

  • Terry's expression after the litle sheep hits the ground with a thud is one of the funniest things I've ever seen in my life.

  • "Un, deux, trois!... Meh-meh-meh-meh-meh-meh---"

    HAHAHAHA.

  • Nostalgia Critic sent me.

  • @newyy1 Me too :P

  • I watched it because he reminded me of it XD

  • Palin trying hard not to laugh at 3:38 always makes me laugh.

  • the 2 people who dislike this are french

  • @KidChaos5150

I'm french and I always enjoy Monty Python sketches.

  • mehh mehh mehh...

  • i <3 monty python!!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVEEE monty python xD <3

  • ''Hes that most dangerous animal a clever sheep.''

    That goes for humans to.

  • I just love Graham Chapman... (R.I.P.)

  • My goal after I learn french is to understand what they are saying.

  • @ShesJustALittleCrazy i actually dont think theyre saying anything...it's probably gibberish. they're just so good they make it sound real haha ;)

  • @ShesJustALittleCrazy What they are speaking is Franglais which is English and some (mostly bogus) French. If you listen carefully you should be able to understand it.

  • Clever sheep.

  • Any idea what the French is? lol

  • @stephab13 nothing in depth. Here we have the cabin. Amazing isn't it, where is the baggage? where are the passengers? etc...Nothing they couldn't look up, but good that they put in the effort.

  • this is the first sketch python ever performed :)

  • Its quite simple really. The Pythons! This is Terry Jones and Graham Chapman. Terry is from Wales and Graham is from Leicester in the Midlands. They liked to play characters from where they grew up. If you want a truly interesting accent in the US try listening to the Boston Brahmin which is like Winston Churchill or if you like old James Bond, the guy who played M. Bernard Lee.

  • they climbed

  • how did the sheep get in the trees if they can't fly?

  • @slightlyinsane25 Harold was a clever sheep...

  • It's a West Country accent.

Incidentally, a lot of New Englanders in the US today are descended from the people who came over from this part of England in the 1600s.

  • its a messed up Irish accent

  • definitely SE england, cornwall/devon sort of area

  • That would be S/W England.

I agree, it's a stage west-country accent, about as accurate as most of the stage irish or scottish accents you hear (i.e. not very).

  • I don't think so. I believe it's from somewhere in SE England, Kent or Sussex. Not being a native, I can't say for sure.

  • Renee DesCarte was a drunken fart, "I drink, therefor I am!"

  • first python i ever saw. Warped me for life. Eternal thanks.

"Notice they do not so much fly, as plummet"

    I LOVE the sheep bleats.

  • Loved the French part, it had me in stitches. xD I love John and Michael. Graham's accent was brilliant too. RIP Graham. <3

  • I don't think. Therefore, I'm not.

  • actually thats not implicated from "i think therefore i am"

  • I was being sarcastic. Sorry.

  • oh, then me being sry :)

  • Nothing brings a smile to my face like 2 grown men bouncing around in circles and bleating like sheep!!!!

  • GREAT! Like one of my Fave Sketches!!

  • Lolz wow flying sheep - any normal comedy sketch on this topic would simply have some sheep flying around, yet monty python are so original LOL :P

  • omg, graham chapman is wearing soooo much rouge!!! and i loved how john cleese and michael palin passed the mustache off to talk =3

  • okay im new to the python amazing-ness so i still dont know whos whos...except eric idle so which one is graham c., john cleese, and micheal palin?

  • lol, it's ok =D graham chapman is the one who is wearing that bucket hat, john cleese is the tall french dude and michael palin is the shorter french guy. terry jones is the man in the suit talking to graham.

  • okay...the frenchies are the best haha

  • Graham was too fabulous for this world

  • he was best when playing a military role.

    Yes, i miss him too.

The python collection on DVD is one of the best thing on earth.

God did we love these guys.

  • i wish i knew what they were saying in french! they r probably saying really random things! This is really funny!!

  • This sketch really really funny and I think one of the best sketches they've ever made. The women at the end are the best.

  • Too bad Graham Chapman is gone. I would've loved to have seen a reunion somewhere down the line. John Cleese & Michael Palin (NO relation to Sarah Palin) are a terrific pair.

  • In my opinion, the very best part is at the end, when they're all in drag discussing French philosophers at the grocer's...

  • notice they do not so much fly as plummet

    i love monty python

  • John and Michael dressed up as French people giving a lecture on flying sheep?

Dude, that was sad, but still funny at the same time.

  • dude, is it just me, or is graham chapman wearing an insane amount of rouge on his cheeks? he looks like a plastic doll!

lol this is one of my favourite mpfc sketches. can you post the one where graham does an "appeal for sanity" with an axe on his head?

  • he's gay.

    for real.

    but still awesome.

  • i dont know why anyone would think the contrary.

  • Genius.

  • I agree.
