  • whats the music name ,first music.

  • Do you mean for the intro?

It's from the song "Whisper (2002)" by Evanescence off of the alum "Not For Your Ears". Although it's a sample from another piece of music which I can't remember the name right now.

  • plz tell me how to set taskbar on the bottom of window

  • - Right click on the taskbar

    - Go to properties

    - Where "Taskbar location on screen" is, use the drop-down menu to select top, bottom, left or right

    - Click "apply" and "okay"

  • why would you need a quick launch button ....just drag and pin your applications to the taskbar....that quick launch button looks quite old

  • I dislike clutter on my taskbar. The quick launch menu consolidates all shortcuts into one, easy shortcut.

Granted, I don't use the quick launch folder/button and have apps pinned to my taskbar as well as a few on RocketDock, but I thought it was worth mentioning for those who do want the quick launch back.

  • Heres another trick, press Ctrl + W

  • omg u are using windows xp

  • I'm not. Read my reply to YottaByteGaming.

  • arent u usin windows xp?

  • In this video and currently, I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate. I like to customise Windows and when I made this video, I was testing out a "Windows XP for Windows 7" theme.

  • making the taskbar thin didnt work for me.. any other ways?

  • Strange that it didn't work. That's the only way of doing it I'm afraid.

  • Thanks. I'm used to xp and some things about windows 7 have been irritating me, like the aerosnap, now disabled thanks to your vid.

  • Happy that I could help. Although I would advise giving AeroSnap another try some time in the future.

It was something that used to irritate me back in the day since I went straight from XP to Windows 7 too but I've found it useful for moving files around different folders and comparing two products at the same time when online shopping.

I can't live without it now that if I do use a Windows XP PC - I have to use a program that fits on a USB flash drive of the same name - AeroSnap. XD

  • @LordReserei01 I always click on the taskbar and select "tile windows vertically" if I want to compare them, or move files around. But I'm sure you're right and I'll get used to Windows 7, eventually.

  • can you approve my video responce???

  • I normally don't allow video responses, but it's a good video and has good production - so it's approved.

  • For quick lauch you could pin your fav apps to the superbar

  • Indeed, but I like to make there is as less clutter as possible on my desktop and taskbar. I personally use a combination of 12 pinned items and rocketdock, but some people may still prefer to use the old XP/Vista style quick launch.

  • Make sure rather.

  • IF u love windows xp that MUCH !! install it as a virtual machine

  • I take it that you either didn't watch the full video given the explanations for why you'd want to do such things, and don't read previous comments.

I was testing out the theme for someone at the time. I recommend Windows 7 to anyone as the best Microsoft OS to date, and out of the things in this video - I personally only use the MP3DMOD.dll trick since I use K-Lite Mega Codec Pack.

Although, and for a while I used to have a Windows XP VM to provide technical support, but I no longer do so.

  • What is your Skype user

  • Now that would be telling. =P

I don't give out my skype username, it's just to talk make business calls or to make personal calls to my family as well as my fiancée.

  • how to hide your folder name to transparent folder and name....right click on the folder and click on properties and the secret is here, just press Ctrl + F13. Click Ok and that's all enjoyyy

  • old wallpaper

  • Anyone else notice he used the word 'remedy' alot?

  • I'll have to remedy that. =P

  • @LordReserei01 AHAHA!!!! That made me laugh..

  • I don't have an appdata folder

  • - open the start menu and search for "folder options"

    - after clicking on "Folder Options", click on the "view" tab

    - under "Hidden files and folder", make sure that you change it to "Show hidden files, folders, or drives"

    - click "apply" and/or "okay"

That shout allow you to see folders such as AppData

  • should*

  • @LordReserei01 THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • @LordReserei01 TU very much.

  • @LordReserei01 I'm having another problem, the MP3DMOD.DLL file

in System32 for the Audio Codec has no "Take

    Ownership" button.

  • "Take Ownership" is a tweak that's commonly used by those who customize Windows a lot. It's easier than going to properties and the security tab, doing this and that.

I'll give you a link to where you can download "Take Ownership" and have that option in a PM...it's perfectly safe and you can revert back if you don't want it anymore.

  • lol, i just ment to say that you make win7 look like win xp

  • i suggest you rename you're vid to: how to make win7 look like xp

  • The goal of the video isn't that, so it would be pointless.

  • @LordReserei01 thats basically what you did tbh

  • @JordiixSkills I AGREE!!!

  • Thank you

  • 2YEARS SAME 6 OCTOBER F U C K

  • Sweet! =D

  • Sweet! =D

  • Super Flippin Awesome!!! thanks mate, i was missing that feature. well done

  • Always happy to have helped. =)

  • Yay! Let's buy a more modern OS to make it look old again! Stupid... ¬_¬

  • o-o you have the same exct programs i have..... FL Studio, Audicity, Skype, Fraps, Tuneup... HE HAS MUY COMPUTER!!!!!! lol

  • XD

  • how do I get rid of the "see through" tool/task" bars at the top and bottom of the screen? I do not like them.

    peggy

  • Want another trick? Windows button + tab.

  • I rarely use that shortcut personally although its nifty. There's a way to pin an icon to your taskbar too although it's worth mentioning that WinFlip or whatever it's called doesn't work if you don't have Aero enabled or have Starter/Home Basic.

  • @kekkaishixfan WOW AWESOME!!!!!

  • @kekkaishixfan Thanks that's badass I seriously had no idea.

  • @kekkaishixfan I can do that with my mouse xD

  • @kekkaishixfan Not so 'trick'y! :D

  • @kekkaishixfan OMG :O TY sooo much XDXD i freakin jizzed myself wen i did this

  • Useful video my friend, thanks a lot!

  • Always happy to help. =)

  • What program are you using to recordyour videos?

  • Camtasia Recorder which is part of Camtasia Studio. I have a full list of the software I use for editing and recording in the description as well as credits for my videos.

  • @LordReserei01 Hey umm I cant see the left edge of my screen how do I fix?

I commented while watching the video its just the screen is abit off how do I fix?

  • It might be a monitor settings or graphics card settings issue. It might be worth looking at the manuals for either of those respectively.

  • very good video keep up the good work

  • Thanks. Don't forget to check out my playlists "Windows 7 Videos" as well as "Windows and Software". There's a lot more there.

    And thanks for subscribing. =)

  • I stand in awe @ ur after effects skillz :D

  • I don't use After Effects...I use Sony Vegas Pro. ;)

A lot of people think I use After Effects, including the commercial for the Rainmeter theme Omnimo 4 but nope...just Sony Vegas Pro 10. lol

    /watch?v=4UtBcS2Jl2g

  • How do you restore the oringinal settings of the taskbar? It would be nice to know, thanks.

  • The only way is to do the reverse. There's no "reset to default" button.

  • Thanks

  • Thank you for the video tips that aerosnap was pissin me off!

  • More than happy I could help. Don't forget to check out my Windows 7 playlists if you're interested. =)

  • Hi there, LordReserei0! I love your videos. I noticed in this one, at 0:46, that the right-click context menu was white. Mine is gray. Is your's white because of the Windows XP theme you have, or did you make it white yourself? Thank you. Cheers.

  • It was most likely just because of the theme. I believe the default Windows 7 theme does have a grey tone to it but I haven't used the default theme in a while and use custom ones a lot.

  • This guy should not have bothered getting windows 7

  • Why's that exactly?

I've already stated in older comments that this video is intended for people who are slowly adapting to Windows 7, have issues with multi-monitor configurations (which some people do have issues with AeroSnap and dual-monitors) and those who use codec packs like K-Lite which comes with ffdshow.

In addition to that, not everyone likes having so many icons pinned to the taskbar or may have low resolution monitors and I was Beta testing this theme for some one else.

  • The only thing in this video which I do on a regular basis is have the taskbar thinner than default since it saves 10-20 pixels

There's also many things that still makes Windows 7 far more superior than older OSs even if one was to do a large percentage of the things in this video regarding some features.

At the end of the day, the best thing a person can do is tweak to their needs. Those tweaks do not determine whether a person should or shouldn't have bothered with an operating system.

  • @0coolify Guess what, the outlook is not the only difference between windows.

  • that fucking song is now the new theme song for microsoft hear it every time i look up something about MS

  • I love the music personally. Although I do think it is overused here on YouTube and I'm a guilty party in that. lol

  • for people that knows how to that would say "thats so easy." for people that dont know would say "ohhh (pause the vid) oh k. do this and do that. thats frigging awesome!!!"

  • Yeah, that's pretty much how it goes for anything whether IT or something else. Those who already know are "lame" and those who are learning "awesome"...it's those who I've helped that I care about more so over the ones who already know since most of my videos are aimed at beginners. =)

  • @LordReserei01 thats how we learn. be an ignorant guy at first and regret your mistakes... nah im just kidding. but i love your videos. it helps alot.

  • Where can I get that song???

  • but this shit is xp

  • no, it's not...

    read older comments.

  • very helpful thank you

  • u talk like robot

  • shhhh...no-one's supposed to know that I am a robot. <.<

  • @LordReserei01 oh ok than :)

  • =P

  • What is the name of your DOCK ? Please answer

  • RocketDock. Watch the video response called "Mac Dock For Windows"...it's a tutorial how to get the dock and I've included a pack of icons as well as skins

  • secret xp song at the backgroung song

  • THANK YOU!

  • 0:03 was battalestar galactica?

  • Yeah...more specifically a BSG conversion mod for the game Star Wars: Empire at War (Forces of Corruption expansion). So instead of the Empire and Rebels, space and land units are Cylons and Colonials. =)

  • @LordReserei01 i think was the game of bigpoint "battlestar galactica online"

  • I haven't had time to play that yet and don't know anyone who does play it personally.

  • which software r u using for editing???????

  • For this video I used Sony Vegas Pro 8 but now and with my most recent videos - I use Sony Vegas Pro 10 (video editing), Adobe Soundbooth CS5 (audio editing) and Camtasia Studio (screen capture).

  • Thank YOU. Finally this video relived my worries about one day having to "upgrade" to this windows 7 piece of crap. Your links pointed me to a paper trail on tweaking it back to Xp style as much as possible. THANKS!

  • It won't let me change MP3DMOD.DLL to .bak when i try to change it. And for me there's no Take ownership. What am i going to do?

  • You can google "Take Ownership.reg" or check out the video I have that's called something like "Right-click Extender" which allows you add a bunch of useful shortcuts to the right-click context menu like Take Ownership

  • @Swanton4rLife Sorry dude, my english is crap, however I do believe my sentence was valid.

  • i can't uncheck show title

    help! XP

  • My Icon doesn't look like that..... It actually smaller in size, can you help me make it bigger.... ;?

By the way, nice video really nice............

  • how did u make Windows 7 start menu Windows XP style?

  • It's the theme I was using at the time. You can download it from the underbar/description. =)

  • I think this was to find tricks in windows 7 no its to change the subject to xp or vista -.-

  • Quick launch IS there...

  • WINDOWS X7!

  • Then it ceases to be Windows! lol

But yeah, Ubuntu's nice...I dual-boot and also use Ubuntu in VirtualBox when I'm using my Windows partition

  • omg I LOVE YOU the oobe music from xP SO MUCH WINGASAM!

  • Haha, yeah, I love that music. They should've had something like it in Windows 7.

  • @jenny4ever22 You're a moron. =)

  • Cool music!

    The Installation-music of Windows XP.

  • Comment removed

  • What's you're skype?

  • sounds like 80's Porn Music.

  • whre are you downloaded a theme from win XP?

  • I will give you 100/100 for a fantastic video

  • your video like a movie .. :D

  • why would you want to change windows 7 back to the way vista was!?!?

  • Whats with the dramatic synth music?

  • It's the Windows XP Welcome Theme that's usually played if you're sound drivers are installed when you install XP or if you upgrade from service pack to service pack.

  • This is prety coooool! :D

  • I think this is windows xp

  • It's Windows 7, with a WIndows XP theme. I've explained a few times in the comments that I was testing this theme out for someone who made it to make sure that it was bug free.

I changed themes regularly because I love to customize Windows.

  • change*

  • @LordReserei01 okay.Sorry .

  • @georgecubes this is windows 7.... it's just a theme

  • thin hell..its supposed to be 10 pixels bigger than vista

  • LOL! I like your voice LOL!!! :D

  • Noobs.. In Windows 7, the whole taskbar basically just turns into a Quick Launch bar..

  • Having too many icons pinned to the taskbar can look super messy for my preference and probably a lot of other people's. lol

  • Hey! Can I Use The TaskBar Thing On A Laptop?? Please Reply...

  • Yes.

  • Sweet =)

  • it's like ''How to undo everything what is good on Windows 7 and make it like XP''

  • Nice. I've learned much of you, but, the song... Secret Windows XP's Song :D

  • Was glad to help, don't forget to check out my other tutorials on Windows, Photoshop and Sony Vegas. =)

The song from XP isn't really much of a secret...it gets played if your sound drivers are installed after installing XP or upgrading from one service pack to another. =P

  • You sound like one of those relaxation videos

  • Haha...should I take that as a compliment or insult? (joking)

    Thanks. =D

  • @LordReserei01 Compliment.

  • @LordReserei01 Compliment. only thing is...its not easy to train the computer to my voice with a roomate next to me. haha

  • hehe.

  • Hey where did you get the Setup XP song. I been looking for an mp3 of it for sometime?

  • Thanks for the thin task bar. Is there anyway to make the size of the window contain all the info inside the window? My monitor is a HD Sony and it does not have the 1600x1200 resolution. Recommended is 1024x768 and max is 1280x768. Is there a work around? I can not see the boxes at the bottom of microsoft word when trying to save to documents. Please tell me in easy terms as I am not a specialist. Thanks for any help you may have.

    bettya9

  • Few questions;

    - Has it always done that?

    - What monitor and model is it specifically?

    - What graphics/video card do you have?

  • @armenchuck if you are trying to get your display to your highest pixel resolution (and its not available) update your display drive automatically over the internet.

    -right click "Computer"

    -click "Properties"

-find and click "Device Manager" on the left side of the window

    -expand your "Display Adapters"

    -right click on the Driver

    -click "Update Driver Software..."

-click "Search Automatically for Updated Driver Software"

(Be connected to the internet and let it update over the internet)

  • wat is the screen capture software you use? its AMAZING quality :)

  • Camtasia Recorder which is part of Camtasia Studio 7.1, but it costs a lot although you could use a free alternative called Camstudio with the codec called TechSmith Screen Capture Codec (by the same people who make Camtasia, free codec).

I have tutorials for accomplishing the same quality under my "Sony Vegas Pro Tutorials" playlist. =)

  • Why did u ruin windows 7 with the xp theme!?

  • I can't begin to count how many times I've said this in replies to people now. lol

I was Beta testing (trying out the theme) for someone else to find bugs and anything wrong it. I didn't use the XP theme for that long as I'm always changing my theme on a regular basis.

    I love customizing.

  • Hey This Dude Has The Same Name As Me

  • how did u get xp theme?????

  • Link's in the description. =)

  • @LordReserei01

    oh thanks!

  • thanks for telling me how to fix the taskbar! i was wondering if i could bring it back to vista style! thanks for the help

  • Was glad to help. I just think it's little cleaner to have a thinner XP/Vista style taskbar and it saves you around 12 pixels for workspace. =)

  • I have never seen anyone stick the taskbar on top. That would drive me bonkers. I have it disappear which is the way that is the best.

  • I used to think that too for a while until I decided to customise XP to look like OSX (ironic, I know) then I started using Linux distros like Ubuntu Ultimate Edition where the taskbar is at the top of the desktop. So I guess I just liked and stuck with it when I made the transition to Windows 7.

Sometimes I set the taskbar to hide when I'm using Rainmeter or in some more recent tutorials, when I'm recording them. It's always seemed odd to me when people put the taskbar to the right or left.

  • Windows 7 may have not installed your audio drivers for some reason. Would be best to download them! =)

  • I have malwareabyte's too.

  • One of the best on-the-fly scanners. =D

  • Looks like you have bought windows xp disk or just a computer with windows xp and used some theme changer from the Internet, buy the real disk not that hard $110 bucks.

  • I was using Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit at the time with a Windows XP Theme I was testing out for someone.

  • waw ..

  • lols the song in the background is the windows secret song nice vid lolz am i right

  • Yeah!....I wish they had a "secret song" for Windows 7 because I really like the Windows XP Welcome Theme. I listen to it over and over sometimes, used to like it after installing Windows and it started playing.

  • @LordReserei01 dude they have one youtube secret windows song

  • Nearly all of the "Windows 7 secret songs" aren't that secret. They're either part of other themes or standard songs that are in the Windows Media Player 12 library when you install Windows 7.

It's just that people either don't change the theme from Windows 7 default or people use other media player software like iTunes.

Even the Windows XP Welcome Theme "secret song" wasn't secret, it was played during installation the of XP if your sound drivers were installed or upgraded service packs. XD

  • nice vid man

  • anyone hear title

  • sweet (-_-)

  • windows XP looks alful IT SUCK WINDOWS& LOOKS PERFECT

  • Hey, you teaching window XP tricks or windows 7?....

  • @aliawesome12fab 7 I have 7
