I remember seeing on the news a report about the war in Croatia at the time (early 90s) & the report saying that it would be Bosnia next, the Bosnian muslims were defenceless & it was going to be a massacre. I couldnt believe we were all sitting there in Europe & knowing it was going to happen & doing absolutely nothing. This film is powerful & Im so glad I watched it here on Youtube as the comments are powerful as well. So many people have suffered so much.
Yeah great 'Movie'. All based on fact, characters names and ranks changed, but when I watched it I was able to name nearly every one. What pissed me off about the researching done into this was that they weren't bothering to talk to the wives, initially. Even though the wives didn't serve in Bosnia they 'served' when their men came back and it was hell for quite a few. Not all marraiges survived the aftermath, including mine. I soon made sure our voices were heard too.

Afaik, there's no german release at all. I caught this mini-series years ago on Arte. But it was the original version with german subtitles. It was shown 2 or 3 times since then. Maybe there'll be a rerun again? I've read elsewhere that there's a dutch release out, original with additional subs, though.

It's very hard for me to understand religious intolerance. I know it's really much more about cultural groups and opposing identities than actual scripture, but there is just no excuse for this kind of behaviour. If you're going to kill someone, you'd better have a damn good reason that that particular individual needs to die. Killing someone who is unarmed, not a threat, and has not done anything to deserve it is just monumentally stupid. No ideology is worth more than simple humanity.

I remember seeing on the news a report about the war in Croatia at the time (early 90s) & the report saying that it would be Bosnia next, the Bosnian muslims were defenceless & it was going to be a massacre. I couldnt believe we were all sitting there in Europe & knowing it was going to happen & doing absolutely nothing. This film is powerful & Im so glad I watched it here on Youtube as the comments are powerful as well. So many people have suffered so much.

Yeah great 'Movie'. All based on fact, characters names and ranks changed, but when I watched it I was able to name nearly every one. What pissed me off about the researching done into this was that they weren't bothering to talk to the wives, initially. Even though the wives didn't serve in Bosnia they 'served' when their men came back and it was hell for quite a few. Not all marraiges survived the aftermath, including mine. I soon made sure our voices were heard too.

But it affected me deeply. Your comments affect me deeply as well. There are some horrible people in this world, but there are many good ones too. For that I am thankful.

woo very freaky b4 i saw this my partner carl told me everything about bosnia when he was yhere in 92 he is proper affected by that tour ,i remember his mate telling carl that he had talked to the bbc about the tour and that they want to get in touch with him and listen to his story but he would not talk wanted to forget about it ,but years later watching this 4 the first time affected him bad got flashbacks nightmares and has PTSD now ,funny his name carl mine cheryl and were from Liverpool

Hi this film was about the cheshire regement in bosnia. I was scots guards 2 of our warrior crews was tattatched to them for the tour, the film is mailnly about us as we was the QRF. The film has had some bits changed like it was me that had a family played by mat mcfaddein. and it was my mate Hoggy that was shot not me. Any questions please ask.

Found it cheap at Ebay NL.

Afaik, there's no german release at all. I caught this mini-series years ago on Arte. But it was the original version with german subtitles. It was shown 2 or 3 times since then. Maybe there'll be a rerun again? I've read elsewhere that there's a dutch release out, original with additional subs, though.
