You are actually better smart buddy. It is a rigged game by the federal government and both parties are in it for themselves and the multi-trillion dollar companies that our federal government supports. But if "We The People" got together and only voted for those who believed and supported the Constitution, Bill of Rights, Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation and so on, "We The People" would get our country back.
I know you're 18 and don't care, but let me paint you a picture. Imagine that today's financial crisis happened 30 years ago, and GM went out of business, causing your parents to not have jobs. You wouldn't live in your nice house. You would be lucky to have one video game system let alone a nice high def TV. You would be poor, and your life would be completely different.
Just because you don't think politics affects you doesn't mean it doesn't. I really hope you vote next election.
One thing still sucks though the richer get richer and poor get poorer. Sigh. Besides, the votes are decided by the elites(the so called group not in public view who controls stuff). It's all propaganda to me.
Actually, the north and the south made a behind-the-scenes deal because the election was a tie. Hayes became president but withdrew troops from the south to end the Reconstruction after the Civil War.
But yes, I do agree that every vote is important.
no offense but votes do matter and 1 vote does count think of it this way imagining telling someone your not voting and that person will say "hmmm maybe i shouldnt either" then they will end up not voting and they tell another and another and hundereds of thousands of people will not vote so yea
yes but its not the people alone that decide who the state gives the vote to, its the state, they just loosely base there opinion of the people..at least thats wat i remember from like a year or 2 ago

Interesting thought, but what could I have done/can do to prevent that without the support of thousands of others?

i thougt that one vote was resposible for americans to speak english and not german...
but i think that thousands of people think like you, so they don´t go voting and thousands of people could change something...

One vote really does count. If your vote makes your district win in that state along with others, those districts + 2 reps. will be the electoral.
