hey Bud, I think the meaning of life is for each generation to accomplish more than the last, so collectively we can evolve as a civilization. On a personal level, i think we just have to strive to do better than our parents, and encourage our kids to do better than us. I think it's as complicated as it is simple.

With evolution we try to find a meaning to it all, because somehow in the middle of the process we complicated everything with out little inventions, that brought us closer to pleasurable emotions like happyness, or to possible meanings... but it's all about an instinct, the survival instinct.

i used to work in the kitchen of a nursing home...and i would say my shift...at least a quarter of us were "faggots" as mchrlchton so nicely called us...i wasnt putting down charge nurses...really i wasnt...if i was my old charge nurse would kick my butt...and she was 70ish

We don't know everything, and we never will, so there's no point in looking at the small picture. Progress, which you seem to adore, never made steps towards improvement without theories, so there's nothing wrong with throwing our ideas about meaning out there. Maybe God doesn't want us to prove that He exists; where would faith go?

For all the people who say life is about procreation/natural selection and the "biology" point of view in general: I'm not disagreeing with you, but what makes nature follow its own laws? Where did everything come from? Did it just BOOM (or BANG) come into being, spontaneously? Life would have little point. Ah no-one has thought of this that I see - THE MEANING OF LIFE - is to have a YouTube experience devoid of problems, where comments are unlimited, they stick, where all elements of the system function like they should and haters don't exist.
