@Clueless0309 WOW, Here where I live there's only pop :( metal is really an underground genre and there's only a few good rock bands.....sad here..there's a tv show like that and once a rocker sang there but they only let him sing pop songs but "the final countdownd" at the final....really sad

In Finland metal scene has losted it's romancy cause of Ari Koivunen in Idols and Lordi etc. And people mostly think metal as a joke. I think that not-finnish people think that it's dang cool how popular metal music is in Finland, but most of finnish metalheads find it annoying.

That's only your opinion. "Most of finnish metalheads" means you? Ari is highly respected talent among other hard rock and heavyvocalists. Definitions of "Orthodox Heavy Metal" are stupid and childish. Ari sings whatever he wants, even the telephone directory. =) I am a sort of metal head from the eighties - from Finland, too.

Ask anyone about ari koivunen for example in Tuska festival, and they'll most likely laugh. Ari is like a justin bieber of metal.. And dude there is nothing wrong with Ari's singing, or voice or anything, it's just a pity that he didn't have a own band.. instead of that he became popular with Idols.. well whattefuck do i care.

When it becomes popular people are still stupid and still don't understand it, at least, not as well as the, ah, 'true' fans. Or the band is a sellout. Weird that, but common I guess. I don't particularly listen to 'metal', but I don't think it's a joke. Sometimes I think the fans are, though.

@metallifan11 nonono, that wasn't the point. Metal music is common in finland, and we have great metal bands here. Incredible musicans etc. but metal music being so popular that little kid's are like "hey! im a metalhead, i listened 10 seconds of metallica" or something. Ari Koivunen in Idols made the scene more popular, which afterall wasn't so good thing.. Seriously there is even a heavy metal band for little kid's in finland... gosh.
