  • Hi i had a 1956 telecaster about 30 years ago and it had the body striped of paint and was pretty chewed up back then!

  • i have the same guitar, such a great guitar to play and so smooth

  • Not a lot of fretboad wear for over half a century's playing... perhaps the previous owners had a very light touch... maybe...

  • eine gitarre die so gut ausschaut ist nicht nicht viel gespielt worden u. klingt auch vergleichsweise nicht so intensiv wie eine real gespielte, das gilt auch für die heavy relics, da spielt einem das auge einen streich

  • U da man!!

  • If you believe that's a 1956 Fender Telecaster, you are too stupid to live. I've seen a 62' Strat that has been in the original tweed case for +45 years, and it didn't look like that. Even if it was never played, the Nitrocellulose finish would have visibly aged in 55 years.

  • My 1970 tele looks like shit compared to this 56.

  • the fretboard looks hardly un-used.... maybe as if it is 5 yrs old, but 55 yrs old...normally not...but it is true that people have kept old cars and such in garages unused, so maybe......but ...just.... maybe.... who knows...

  • im not sure if that will be a original but the playing is very good

  • For all the ney-sayers, it would be hard to prove that this is NOT an original 56 tele by the video alone. And to my knowledge and research fender doesn't make a line of 56 re-issue tele's. Strats come in the 56 but not the tele's. So unless this is a very exclusive custom shop request build I'd be hard pressed not to believe it's original. She sounds perfect man! Keep her satisfied!

  • I can tell by ther oversized lip pocket its real....sounds like crap though unfortunately.

  • It sounds great!!! i have one but from 2010, it´s an american special with texas special pickups, my favourite guitar

  • an original in your dreams dickhead, get a life fukin homo

  • wank-fest...play a song on that thing.

  • Ok , Now play ren and stimpy !

  • Jason... Does this tele have a serial number or a "Made in...." on the back?

  • bs is that original,

  • Hats off to Roland too, used to work in a music store that sells those amps. They really got their sh1t together on those. Use a micro cube myself for practice, savage lil amps. Nice post man, tele sounds fantastic in yer hands

  • Wow nice!

  • It's in amazingly good condition!

  • Dude!!!!!! The 1st minute and 13 seconds cut me open. Wonderful tone with honest soulful playing. I dig it. Forget about the knuckleheads who want to argue about the age of your guitar. They're missing the entire point.

  • Super clean

  • excuse me but that not an original, i've got 1969 telecaster that look older than this telecaster, this guitar look like a new one.But you play very well and you sound is very good

  • Comment removed

  • Nice playing man.

    *Check my Tele demo.

  • Looks kinda clean for being that old.

  • I'm glad you're actually playing this beauty rather than stashing it under the bed for another 50 years

  • lucky bastard:)

  • 'Sounds excellent...

  • Now go put it in its glass case and never play it again. I have a couple of these closet queens that are mostly an insurance burden, and stashed away, as if I did play them they would look like my other guitars I play all the time. One plays terrible and that is why it looks brand new, and the rest are from people who thought it would be fun to learn how to play, but never did. A reissue can sound as good as this 56, if not bring it to me with lots of cash, and I'll see what I can do.LOL

  • Where in the name of God did you find this?! It's so beautiful it hurts! D:

  • Ah, you have my favoite guitar! It is evident that you enjoy playing, so I will let you keep it... for now! But seriously gorgeous tone and condition. Great video, friendo.

  • Just one thing to tell you: Amazing man!

  • Cleanest vintage guitar I've EVER seen.

  • wow great sound !!

  • these comments give credence to the saying,

"there's a sucker born every minute".

  • look how beautiful clean and tidy that is, and how un-used, and you say it's a 56?

  • wow that guitar is in mint condition! probably the finest looking 56' on earth!

  • Looks too clean to be that old. Nice playing though.

  • There's no way in hell that's a 1956 telecaster. Come clean shithead.

  • @elitemathlete Where's the love?

  • @JSinay

It looks like a mexican reissue.

You play better than you lie though. That's a nice thing to say I guess.

  • @JSinay I have a '56 telecaster(all original) and a 1957 fender twin-amp(1st production 00013(13th made) for sale if you collect. The 1957 twin-amp has the 83 rectifier tube and was only made for 3 months.

  • @elitemathlete Maybe it is maybe it isnt there is such a thing as keeping good care of your guitar.

  • @elitemathlete It is.

  • awesome

  • Damn..... you are my hero ;D

  • you know that the beautiful teli in your hands can give you a fortune, i wont sell it anyway too.

  • You know that The beautiful teli in your hands could give you a fortune, i would not sell it anyway.

  • Great tone and great playing - the guitar is in the right hands :)

  • it's a roland cube 30? realy?

  • My Tele is only a few years old - in 50 years the maple neck might look as good and golden as this one... alas, I won't be around to see it. Ah, well... very nice stuff.

  • @zthetha if it's any consolation your newer neck (Poly finished) will never yellow like this vintage (Nitro finished) neck!

  • danm, you shoulda warned me about that lick at 1:14. I just took a big drink of my coffee and now my computer screen is covered in it!

  • Awsome :) What a great guitar. And guitarist:)

  • man, i love these 21-fretters. i dunno why, but they're more "charming" and force you to get really creative.

  • @josephzita so true!

  • hey can i borrow that

  • @blastofo sure!

  • aww hell, now THAT's a TELE! how have you kept the pickups alive?

  • @josephzita About the pick ups?? They just sound great. All my Vintage guitars have GREAT sounding oick ups actually.

  • That's a piece of history right there ;)

  • man, it rly sounds like its been time-warped from the 50's!

    awsome tone!

  • what a beautiful sound !

  • What are the pickups height settings, please, high and low, neck and bridge ?...thanks a lot, belo

    AMAZING SOUND !!!!!

  • @BELOROYAN not sure about the pick up settings....thats just how they were when I bought it.

  • @JSinay Bro, have a '56 tele and not aware of pick up settings???? put that thing down. :D

  • thats how a tele should be played!! very nice my man!!

  • Awesome...great sound great playing...

  • you are really slow, my God, what have you been taking? :D Pretty cool playing!

  • you are really slow, my God, what have you been taking? :D Pretty cool playing!

  • Looks Like the Fender Telecaster from the Movie The Girl Can't Help it.

Gene Vencent & Blue Caps Be Bop A Lua

    You Play GREAT.

    Leo Fender Would be Proud.

    Thank you

  • Nice Guitar. Great playing.

  • What a deep sweet tone, I love this. If you own a guitar like this, you just have to play it every day. You've got great skills to!! Nice one!! Cheerss mate

  • did this guitar cost u a fortune?..it looks minty

  • People, before you comment - here are the facts: this is a '56 Fender Telecaster and it is NOT a reissue. This guy collects vintage guitars. Real ones. Yeah, they are WAY expensive. The amp used here is a Roland Cube 30....really good to practice on.

Jason - you play really well. You clearly love vintage guitars. Me too!

  • @psychicdelic Thanks! You are very kind.

  • Yeah, wel done, really!!! Amazing sound, awsome!!!! =0)

  • MMMMMMM very nice. Tone and playing!

  • I own a Tele and my girlfriend is jealous............

  • Hi Jason, I am almost speechless. Wonderful tone and great skill and agility on that old tele;) 5 Stars are not enough for a talented guy like you, Cheers Bro, Billy ;)

  • Thanks very much Billy! That is very kind of you my friend.

    All the best!!

    Jason

  • what you use the Effect Pedal?

  • no effects

  • wow that's some nice tone!

  • sweet !!

  • What a sweet tone

  • i want it :P

    lovely neck pu tone

  • Definitely sounds great. Looks and sounds extraordinarily mint. What's the story?

    Congrats on a sweet axe.

  • .....Norman Harris called me and said "I have a STUPID clean 56; Tele, are ya interested?"......That's how I found it. He bought it from a guy in the Midwest who basically kept it under a Bed for 35 years. Even the Case is in MINT condition (all original hang tags, bill of sale, etc)

  • sounds unreal :)

  • ナイスギタープレー!!

  • what amp are you using ?

  • cube 30

  • wow !

  • nice

  • Im starting to get more into blues... inspired by John Mayer and what not, Ive been playing for years but ive always played alternative/punk/hardcore stuff. any good blues bands to listen to?

  • Jimmy Page

  • rory gallagher and stevie ray vaughan!!! cant go wrong!!

  • Lets not forget Buddy Guy : )

  • agreed!!!!!

  • That Tele was made for your hands.

    CHEERS!!

  • Really like your passion. It comes beautifully alive when you play!

  • Immaculate condition?

  • Immaculate Conception? It is xmas day ; )

  • danny gatton

  • danny thomas

  • does the neck pickup not sound very good?

  • is that a question or a comment?

    : )

  • @JSinay question - aren't you playing only on the bridge pickup in this video? I might be mistaken

  • I think it is all on the bridge pick up? As you know the 50's Tele's aren't wired to use ONLY the neck pick up.....Either way, the guitar rocks. : )

  • very nice, very nice. makes me want to go out and buy one right the "F" now! too bad the stores are all closed. rock on friend...

  • why not?

The fact that it makes some people crazy that I would do such a horrible thing makes me ONLY want to play through the Cube!!

  • get out of the scales;);)more intervalls like carl verheyen!Great otuch my friend!

  • my guitar is almost identical maybe even better condish :b

how much r they worth nowdays?

  • It looks toooooo new for a 56 tele...

    It's impossible!

IMO it's not a vintage tele, or it was deadly refinished...

  • Vodka??

  • I Want That Guitar! Very nice playing/ sound

  • Beautiful fiddle sir!

  • that is the best lookin condition 56 tele ive ever scene?

  • what effects are you using?

also how much would an origonal 56 tele cost?

  • no effects....just plugged straight into a little Roland Cube 30

  • i supose telecasters dont need affects

  • Wow..! Bravo !

  • love your style of playing mate, very original !! cheers and enjoy that precious guitar :D

  • Great guitar but considering the amp is what gives the large majority of the sound, I wonder what amp that was?

  • Roland Cube 30.........You should hear this guitar through a 65' Princeton Reverb!

  • what's the name of that finish??

  • Honey Blonde

  • who owned it before you? it looks brand new

  • I bought it from Norm Harris (Normans Rare Guitars).

Even the case and tags are in pristine condition. The

guitar was purchased by Norm by one of his sources.

It's the real deal. It lives in a custom built converted

gun rack and doesn't leave the house.

  • what are you playing at 1:18?

  • Just a bunch of non-sense : )

It basically a Major Pentatonic riff in "E".

  • uh, i had a feeling i heard it somewhere

  • Amazing tone, nice licks.

  • nice if you like bright sounding shit..

  • i feel so sorry for you

  • why because i dont like the twang of a tele?? lol

  • yup. at least learn to respect tastes of other's. you can dislike it, but dont do it in a rude way.

at most, if i were you, i'd try to understand why this sound is so special to a good load of good musicians.

btw, i see you like Led Zep. actually telecaster was one of Jimmy's favourite guitars

  • sorry man but i couldnt give a shite if my likes are diffrent to yours..im damn sure things i like you will likely think are utter crud..now if i were you i wouldnt look so far into what others like to much or to some random crap people write on here..

  • In fact it was a 59' Slab Board Tele. I have one in my collection .

Jimmy played it on the entire first Zep record and on the solo for Stairway to Heaven.

If that isn't AMAZING tone then I am deaf.

  • indeed AMAZING tone. tele produces probably the most reconizing tone. because it's amazing )

  • no you dumbass. Nice if you play ANYTHING!! The "strat' is nice for playing bright tinny shit.

Youve obviously never played a tele.

  • smoke my weiner you muppet..teles are bright sounding guitars aswel..

  • wrong, teles are fat, and warm sounding. try one

  • well that depends what you call fat warm sounding doesnt it..

  • Looks like new, is this the first time you played that thing? If I owned it I would sleep with the damn thing.

  • no offense taken......I didn't know what TDPRI was, so I looked it up. GREAT SITE!! Thanks for turning me on to it. I have more Tele's than anything else in my collection. It'll be fun to share them.

  • I agree. THAT'S a reissue.

  • take it easy on that thing

  • Rock-a-doodle-doo!

  • then i guess you are

  • enter your text here ...

  • great !! love this fender !!

  • amazing) you rock)

  • Is that a monkey playing a guitar???

  • maybe you are a monkey

  • seeeee i told you........

  • "APE" is my nickname, so this user must be someone who know that I am not only a Monkey but a BIG one at that!!!!

  • you can tell when someone is really feeling their geetar and this dude is digin that tele .....dont sell it

  • PRS is a pretty cool company no doubt bu nothing comes to fender!!!

  • Got the tab for this?

    Only joking. :)

  • Fantastic sound and playng !

    Keep on Rocking!

  • Great video, awesome playing! That guitar makes me woosey inside. I have a Telecaster, but it is only one year old, haha

  • PRS guitars are almost totally machine made now. For the same $3000.00 you will pay for a PRS, you can buy a totally handmade instrument from any number of extremely talented luthiers.

  • Almost all of the guitars that were made in the 50's were better than the crap that started to appear in the 60's and certainly better than the garbage that was made during the 70's and even the 80's. In fact, it was the garbage that started in the 60's that first created the vintage guitar market. Most new guitars today are just as good if not better than the older stuff. They're just new, that's all. By the way, the 50's guitars were not as handmade as people think.

  • wow!

    beautiful tone..

my uncle owns a 48' broadcaster and a 52' tele neither reissue's either..

and the tone is beautiful on them too.

    wish I could PLAY them..

  • Not quite sure about the fast playing at the end though......

  • Sounds incredible. Both the playing and the instrument I mean.

  • The single issue I have with tele's is that they're not contoured. Even with that issue, I use mine instead of my strat, living with the bruising, cos it's so much nicer in every other way.

  • good so I will just keep my 2008 fender tele all stock.. even the pick ups I would not change so it will be vintage in the future :) after 30 years mine is vintage hahaha..changing pickups? now way not for me..pick up change is not really an option if you have a kick ass effects and amps

  • VERY NICE

    telecasters = win

  • have you also been playing since 56? :P

that was some mean guitar playing!

  • haha..

he most likely was born after that.

    he looks 40ish.

  • sweet sound
