  • Don't be stupid man, Scorsese's just a film director, depicting a different type of life that your average person never sees. Nowhere does he say that people should follow the same lives as those in a lot of his films, and if anyone does, then it's on their heads, not his. Cinema would be boring as Hell if it was all about "decent, hardworking people".

  • And FYI, it's ignorant to claim everyone could live happily without gangsters. Even the most basic look into the subject will tell you many did a lot of good for their communities, particularly with some of the lower echelons of society, where a lot of them came from in the first place. Gangsters helped them and provided for them when their own countries and governments didn't. It's easy for you to sit back, be judgemental and say YOU don't need them, but it's foolish to say no-one does.
