Arbitrary. Stage 1... stage 2... etc. I started toying with names, but never stuck with anything. The whole score was composed in 12 days. So I had little time to think of anything else.
I believe the Japanese and English scores were both released as soundtrack CDs. The US one stayed solely ingame.
I liked Stage 3 as well :) And stage 6 I think. Stage 4 is neat if you watch the background and listen, without getting starmines.
I have to say that the music during the various stages in this game in enthralling. Honestly, the music compliments the stage. Stage 3 was one of the best if you ask me.
I had thought that the US Fantavision songs were recorded for a soundtrack, but I had no idea they were not released. I have to ask, do the US songs have names or were they just left arbitrary?
wait a minute... i hacve this game.. but tehj music is different for this level.. teh music in my one sounds alot more electronic... and im lookign to find teh track. but i keep getting this track.. can anyoen tell me were i can find teh one im looking for?

This game sucks. There so many better shooter games out then this. Looks so boring probably would put me to sleep. I seen new copies at my local video game stores. Need I say more if this game was good there would not be so many copies around. This get a zero in my opinion too each is their own though.
I did a .torent search on the soundtrack. I was lucky enough to find it and downloaded the original soundtrack. The problem is the Japanese version has very different music than the English version. So, I have no idea if they made a soundtrack for the English songs... :(
please copuld you send me teh one you have?? ive been lookign for teh original for ages and i could never find it.. but it coudl be teh japanese one im lookign for???
It's really tough to get game music for ones like these, especially if they aren't really popular, or have had an OST released publicly.
The music in this game was composed by Souichi Terada and an original soundtrack was released May 24th of 2000, but I have no idea where to BEGIN looking for that.
I love how you can juggle the fireworks and keep them on the screen longer. I've tried that, but I find it pretty hard. You're a pretty good FantaVision player.
I just decided to play this again tonight, and afterward realized I was nowhere close to the top score after 8 rounds and found your video and am surprised someone actually knows what is going on, lol. Great job man.
I did, but I just can't get the huge chains, I can get to 20 or so and then nothing. I'm good enough to have my energy up for all 8 levels, that's about it.
i've actually liked the cutscenes, too. they always make me feel like i was in one of those scenes. but, that's because i would like to do some acting, in addition to game making.
When I first played Fantavision, never did I imagine I would look back on it with such nostalgia.
This has to be the most beautiful game I've ever played.

I was hooked on this game when I first tried it. It was so simple but so fun...

The JP soundtrack remind me of elevator music, for some reason. It's good, but it doesn't compliment each or immerse you as much as the US version.

Concerning the comments on the music.
The music is different in the PAL and Japan Versions. The Music for the US was "localized"
I should know since I made the music for the US one :)
There was never a soundtrack release for the US version, but there are some MP3s floating about the 'net.
Just a thing for fans reading, I tried to time the music accents to what was happening in the background like a score.

You are correct. the JP or PAL Sountrack can be found, but I have no idea about the US one.
I especially want that third level's music as that is epic.

I used to be pretty good. But the way things are, I can't keep a really good chain going (which is key to a hi-score).
I should pick this one up again when I get the chance. It's actually fun.
Saestrol 4 years ago
I like it a lot, but have no idea what is actually going on, or how to keep chains going, or what even is the point, I just like fireworks.
otakujpop 4 years ago
Heh heh... did you try out the tutorial? I though it did a nice job of explaining the basics... though it's a little slow.

I have this game. As you probably know, "Fantavision" is a good game after I enjoyed my 4th of July like watching real fireworks.

Fantavision Rocks!!! I wanna go see real fireworks on the 4th of July rather than playing this excellent game.

People still play this? Cool, I love this game. One of the coolest launch titles i've ever played to be honest.

Wow, nice job! Great gameplay and music. But, what's up with the FMV (the kids with the telephone) during the stats?
Could you also post the ending of this game? I have never seen it. :)
Thanks,
Arun Krishnamurthy

Yeah, I plan on doing each stage including the ending, you'll understand the FMV bits. (Actually I like those. Heh)
I'll be doing the game on Hard mode, so stages 1-3, then 5-8 + end. Then the extras if necessary...
