  • Roger was the most gung ho, but a bit too wild and careless. Notice how this crazy scientist inspired Frankenstein from Day of the Dead.

  • Roger was the best marksman. Actually, the ONLY marksman. Everyone else was a noob. Oh, and Roger knew how to hotwire vehicles so he had a MacGyverness to him also.

  • Perfect baby...perfect...well maybe not....

  • one of the few movies that got me emotionally invested in the characters, very sad when Stephen and Roger die

  • Scientist"For all I know its the brains that are already dead, its the idiots that are still alive"

    LOL

  • The Ones It Kills Get Up and Kills

  • censored?

  • "i'm gonna ..TRY...not to ... come back..."

  • Scariest part of the film for me. The face roger makes when hes returning is creepy but still looks sad and then shit is hitting the fan on the tv.

  • we whipped em and we got it all!!!!!

  • roger was my fave character i about shot my tv when the black guy shot him

  • have they made a move where there zombies and one zombie look like one but got a soul of a man bit like red dead redemption undead nightmare

  • 0:20 ARRRR IT BE PIRATE!

  • OMG this was sooo fuckin scary the first time i saw it. dunno why its just the eyes!!!!!! comment if you agree

  • The one scary part in the film :o

  • I will always remember Roger's best line of the Movie : We got this man , We got this by the Ass !!

  • If this happened, I'd just kill myself. First my family though.

Take a gun, shoot my dad, my mom, and myself so they do not have to suffer a terrible death. In a zombie apocalypse only though. I love my family. :)

  • @Thebestever441 Well scientifically this would blow over in days since zombies could not eat all of the humans like that and they would decompose.

  • it was just a bummer he was awsome and such a nice guy

  • Fuck that.

I would just do like Peter does at the end of the film.

Sure I would be killed, but I am going out fighting.

I would start doing Karate to zombies with superhero music playing in the backround.

  • DUMMIES....DUMMIES...DUMMIES!!!!

  • 2.47 ithougt that was weed :D

  • maria kills lucas then he a zombie

  • why wast ammo on dolls why not zombies

  • @Sil3ntxRiot practice. Firing a gun accurately is harder than most people think.

  • i thought they where gonna use bubble wrap to grave his body LMAO

  • why didnt they just use the defibrillator on him? l4d2 and dawn of the dead ftw

  • cause he was already bitten. not curb stomped to death.

haha i LOLed at your comment though that was funny

  • Zombie Roger was the best zombie in the film. The solid grim facial expression, aged pale look, creepy soundtrack and moving with just the eyes defined one of the best zombies in horror movie history.

  • @RyunSharp He was Second Best... You cant Deny Fly Boy (David Emge) was simply the best zombie in this film...

  • im getting a tattoo of Fly boy when he turns into a zombie and the part in the beginning when the fat dude blows that zombies head apart

  • I liked Roger. It's sad that he had to die

  • is there anyway i can c this movie

  • whats the name of this movie

  • @jarae682 Dawn ofthe Dead. The original from the 70s. The greatest zombie-esque film ever made. No CGI, great plot and great commentary on how we are doomed since humans are full of greed.

  • @kanookle And the great visual effects by Tom Savini who was one of the biker gang members in the final battle scene.

  • @kanookle YES

  • dawn of the dead .... its the old version

  • great movie

  • @Haudiomicid best RL zombie movie how they would really be

  • classic scene for the ages. the scientist was great too...

  • this scene is scary cos a zombie can move his eyes in a rly freaky kinda way. and the way how it was rising was pretty damn freaky too

  • Hell yes, scariest scene in the movie.

    Zombie Roger slowing rising... EEK!!!!!

  • Believe it or not, this was the most scariest scene in the entire film.

  • Poor roger....he was my favourite ! :x

  • me too, Roger was the best, great shot. Just got a bit reckless and paid the price in the film :-(

  • yea...shame he had to go - his eyes look so sad - like he really doesn't want to be a zombie ! :x

  • LOL shauntberry

  • 1:49 that was me this morning when I woke up

  • @shauntbarry Lmao Shaun!! i Loled! That what happen to me before @ 1:49 :D

  • I'm only 17, so I wasn't around to see this when it came out. It isn't scary to me, but it's still an amazing movie. I wish more movies nowadays were like this.

  • The guy in the television reminds me of critic David Denby who thinks he knows all the answers to the world's stupidest problems, but in the end is a joke. However, Roger's death is the saddest I've seen in a horror movie and the more I watch the scene with the TV people fighting and the music in the background, I get emotional in choas. Peter's burial of Roger makes it even sad as well.

  • I know i totally agree with you Roger was my favorite character, i was sad when he got bite and i got even sadder and sadder watching him get sicker and sicker.

  • Romero makes the best zombie movies. This is my favorite of the series, I still haven't seen Diary of the Dead.

  • "DUMMIES, DUMMIES, DUMMIES!" I always laugh at that part.

  • No sir, you fail to see this movies' greatness.

  • Well what you need to realize is that this movie was made in 1978. That was over 30 years ago, a time with completely different standards. Back then, this was one of the scariest movies around. You know how something could scare you easily as a child, but then as you get older it doesn't bother you anymore? Same principle applies to this movie.

  • this movie was rated R I believe so when you say child you say it as if teens would be afraid of this and i doubt every teenager from 1978 was afraid of ppl in green paint

  • Well were you around to see this movie in 1978?

  • Thank of a thousand zombies walking a half a mile or a hour? and all around you!

  • only a dumbass like you would be caught in a situation like that. i'd be safe b/c i work at H&H GunRange

  • Alright, but their's not need to call me a "dumbass", you don't even know me, thank you pyro, but eventually you will run out of ammunition, and more and more zombies will be coming, i'm sorry, but judging by these sort of movies, you won't seem to survive, but your ego will probably disagree with me.

  • with zombies like these they wouldn't even be worth my bullets. B/c pussy ass Obama making ammunition so fucking high. but if these stupid piece of shit zombies came to my town someone would've caged them and sold them as pets

  • Yes I agree with that, I hate democrats like the next one, trying to push this gun control garbage as much as possible, at least we agree I something, heh.

  • This movie was Great for its time i still watch this i think its a classic

Of course today movies are much more messed up

  • I felt bad that Roger was the one to die. It's always the best ones I guess.

  • I always liked Ken Foree. Strong, smart, confident leader.

  • 1:42 - 2:12

  • The saddest part in the film. Roger was my favorite and the film got a little boring after he died.

  • Quite true.

  • :D I love the zombiefied Roger. He looks too funny <3 Awesome movie.

  • ken foree looks like o.j.simpson.

  • Poor Roger, he was my favorite character.

  • not a very smart thing to do wasting ammunition on dummies.

  • It was never intended to be an exceptionally scary movie but more of an action flick with social commentary. One of my favorites BTW.

  • The days without the internet you say well no shit i wasnt born then thanks. wow smart =D. Im sorry im just saying i grew up watching zombie movies coz my dad is a big fan, even from a little age this kind of films never scared me only coz now when you watch a zombie movie and see how much they have progressed and then when i watch an older zombie movie

  • what are you kidding?I saw it at about 6, had nightmares for a looooong time.,..it is actually a scary movie in a realistic way

  • kid doesn't remember days without the internet

  • The days without the internet you say well no shit i wasnt born then thanks. wow smart =D. Im sorry im just saying i grew up watching zombie movies coz my dad is a big fan, even from a little age this kind of films never scared me only coz now when you watch a zombie movie and see how much they have progressed and then when i watch an older zombie movie for me it just dosnt scare me sorry. I was just asking was at as scary as it is now days. fuck you dont have to bite my head off....

  • it was scary for its time. i dont think its scary though. i just think its funny

  • Slow zombies rule! They are way more realistic...thus scarier. I did enjoy the remake but viewed the running zombies more as virus infected madpeople more than undead zombies. (kinda like 28 Days Later)

  • plus if a zombie apocalypse really did happen i would prefer the slow ass zombies so i can book it out of there lol

  • i think the new one is more scary than this probally used to be scary but now not scary : ) lol

  • Logic says, this is the ONLY version that counts!

George Romero is God. Remakes are the devil!

  • The remake is shite..

  • you are shit/e

  • You are sad

  • well thats your opinion, but the majority share mine :)

  • ok.. maybe its due to i saw the remake first?

anyway, i feel it goes to slow the whole zombie thing, and in the remake more speed and tempo..

have you seen the remake of: day of the dead ?

  • I guess :)

Im a romero fan, and i prefer slow zombies! so yeh the remake was good, but I really hated the day of the dead remake! It just went into a comedy, THEY EVEN HAD A VEGETARIAN ZOMBIE??!?!??!

  • haha, yeah, saw the remake too, it sucked big time!

and they should had let romero do a remake instead

  • Lol zombies / cannibals can be vegetarian too.

The principal matter of vegetarianism / veganism is not to eat animals.

  • 1:50 Look its sith lord palpatine now the zombies are gona get some force lighting.

  • Roger was cool, but reckless. Peter and Ben are the Uncles of Samuel Jackson. I think

  • I remember watching the actual shoot and the brains hit the wall behind him on an earlier version,.,, was this censored, or am i confused?

  • why is this video out of sync?

  • dude the black guy is in the remake

  • well its a different character, In teh remake his name is Kenneth and in the original its Peter

  • no the actual actor from the origional is in the remake, he's the guy on tv who claims its all caused by sins such as sex out of wedlock, he even says the same line he said in the origional: when there's no more room in hell, the dead...will walk the earth

  • the actor not the character

  • yeh i said the actor

  • oops sorry

  • xD The zombie's face looked like Johnny Depp when he played Willy Wonka!

  • I remember watching this and i couldn't stop laughing at the zombies! LOL

  • even thou that part to me was kinda scary it was sad :/ roger was my fav

  • Is Peter played by OJ Simpson?

  • omg no look oj has a longer head...and a diffrent nose

  • Dummies Dummies Dummies!! LOL

  • When people say the remake is better its just wrong. Dont forget no orignal= no remake

  • Well 54spiritedwill54, I consider the remake of Dawn to be much better than the original version. Don't get me wrong, Romero's Dawn was great, but the remake had better scares, better suspense, better pacing, better execution, etc. I could go on and on and on.

  • Roger is my favorite too. It's a shame he had to die.

  • yep tha best character in this movie, movie wouldve been cooler if he lived.

  • @HonoraryMarine Stephen "Fly Boy" made the best ZOMBIE THO! Only zombie I can think I liked better was good ol Bub... Howard Sherman in Day.. :)

  • oh, and jack,0% of the world is uninhabited, and if you didnt know this, definition of zombie:undead ghoul. definition of ghoul:organism that only has a brain that gives it the most basic survival instinct in the world: to eat. Not only might man become undead, animals will too. which means, you have a better chance of an angel in hell to be safe,

  • Roger is my favorite characeter to my 2nd is peter

itz kinda funny cuz roger looks like he wants to masterbait before he turns into a zombie

  • the blonde one looks like fergie alittle

  • urm whats your problem ?

  • he's Noob, stephen shuda bent him over when he turned into a zombie and F***ed him til he turned back into a human. lol ( dont take me serious people im only joking! )

  • "We are down to the line folks...WE ARE DOWN TO THE LINE...."

Emotions is a weakness in a zombie epidemic. Would you shoot your freind or relative in the head when he/she becomes a zombie?.....

    YOU DECIDE....

  • actully i wouldnt do either id save my self alot of pain and harshness of killing my best friends or reletives...

i would shoot myself the cowards way out so what call me a coward i guess if i would rather die quickly and non painful more than being chomped on like think about it people what would you rather...

but if you shot some anyway what diference would it make maybe you would shoot 22 zombies at the most... 22/500,000,000 people what diferense does it make

  • well, your not really loyal to mankind are you? the thing you should be afraid of is if zombies kill off mankind, not wether you would die or not even if you feel pain killing a relative. If zombies are real it would be wiser to pick up a weapon and fight to the finish. I sure as heck know that if my dad was a walking corpse, he'd wish me to kill him. Our ancestors have fought since the Ice Age to survive, and i doubt mankind even now, would give in easily, hope you remember this and have faith.

  • @MrSoprano0125 wow, your grammar certainly wouldn't save you in a zombie apocalypse...

  • @HenrySchecker neither will your grammar Nazism.......

  • Roger is my favorite character and he dies :'(

  • Esse filme é maravilhoso!

  • why did roger have to go back for his bag in the truck and risk is life?

  • because he was losing his mind from what has been happening and wasnt thinking straight, started thinking he was invincible

  • Such a sombering scene, great film.

  • "This is just for the two of you." I'm going to be in that dark corner watching."

  • Whatever happened to him making a Day of the Dead remake?

  • Aww... You can't dis Romero with a clean conscience my friend...

  • i want to see the remake of dawg on the fuckin dead.

  • "Dawg on the Fucking Dead"? I don't think Romero's going to making that one anytime soon.

  • When people say the remake is better its just wrong. Dont forget no orignal= no remake

  • whoa. this is just like when you turn on the Resident Evil Gamecube disk and there's that zombie on the autopsy table.

  • man i would love to star in a romero zombie movie, not a main character maybe as a soldier.who is kinda bad but then you see hes a good guy underneath, that harsh exstera but gets eaten by the zombies.i would have to die love to get eaten but go out taking alot of them with me.that would be a dream

  • i just cant take the conflict between Peter and Roger seriously

  • when the zombie was looking around at 1.55 it looks like heres thinking "were the fuck am i"!! lol

  • Poor Roger he was a cool character in this flick its a shame he didnt survive.

  • This is a sad scene in the film when Roger dies. I think that he was a great character in this film. Please I'm a big fan of Scott Reiniger. Can you imagine if they let him live like Bub in Day of the Dead? I don't think that that would work though.

  • Nah sorry Flyboy Pete I can't marry you. I'm sure there is someone better suited for me out there.

  • I so wanted Peter to pour some champaine on his grave and say "for my dead homie"

  • Land of the dead wasnt to good i hope the next is better

  • fast zombies is Russo's thing. i hope romero dont forget that ^^

  • george romero is the pioneer of this genre, 28 day's later was a good film but the fast running zombies seemed to be influenced from dario argento's demons, i hope diary of the dead is good because land of the dead was a dissapointment, the original day of the dead wasn't bad but they seemed to try and replicate some of the characthers from dawn of the dead

  • well that's the thing though. Romero's zombies are dead and rigor mortis causes their muscles to stiffen which makes them slow.. 28 days later they arent dead, it's a virus that doesnt kill them, just makes them get homicidal crazy

  • "You're probably serious"

  • and YOU ruin my country. bitch!

  • Ken Foree Rules idiot.

  • RACISM RUINS THIS WORLD!

  • Gravelandart ruins life, he should be wiped from the face of the earth!

  • dr. millard rausch RULES! he is probably the most sane character in the movie. should have listened to the OEP!

  • its dr house.

  • Poor roger and poor Peter.

  • LOL at their scientist on that video. That is one pretty stupid scientist.

  • The old One was Pretty good it had good storyline. The New one is good too.

  • I Thought The Old One Was Good And The Remake In 2004 was pretty good too. But I Think the old one had better storyline.

  • wa haha hahahahahha!!!!!!!!!!!! yeagh... zombies are scary!!!! ghost stories are much betta!!

  • When I first saw this I was maybe 12, and when Roger pulled the sheet off his head I think had nightmares of that

  • it's the better zombie's film I've ever seen! and I've saw a lot of zombie's films...

  • 100% agree with you man

  • Dawn of The Dead remake was a bit more exciting and faster paced than the original which is to be expected the original might bore todays audiences but the overall zombie apocalypse/takeover translated well into the 2004 version but it happened much quicker than the 1978 original.

  • wtf is wrong with dawn of the dead(1978 version) will kick 2004 remake and fucking day....who the fuck ever heard of running Zombis?so fucking retarded

  • I did hate the running zombies. But todays moviegoers would not be scared, frightened, or excited by dawn of the downsyndrome dead. The Romero zombies are/were good for their time but everything is faster paced these days. The 1978 dawn of the dead was more satirical and had themes of social commentary about the collapse of modern civilization. The remake was just plain gore action violence entertainment.

  • as long as they don't use fasties in george a romero's upcoming movie diarie of the dead i think its cool but i like slow zombies more

nothing as scary as being overrun by a massive mob of slowrunning things that want to eat your flesh

  • Definetly, Diary of the Dead is 100% Romero so I'd expect him to continue on with his tradition of the slow moving undead cannibals which he innovated and created. Diary is also I think going to be a prequel or side story to NOTLD filmed in a Blair Witch Project amateur documentary style.
