@archolon Age of conan is one of the best MMO out there. The unique combat system and the atmosphere are awesome. It is sad thou that the Devs have neglected the pvp aspect of this game and especially the mass pvp which main content are the sieges.
In Fury EU there has been no siege in the past 2-3 years without horrible framerate, rezpad bugs, crashes and freezes which simply makes the content unenjoyable and unplayable. No doubt they have removed the rewards for it.
im getting this game. and personally i love sieges especially as my class. as soon as im on im going to do the tutorial then join a guild and beef the city

i gotta question. i played this game back in july when it came out and i LOVED IT. although since my computer wasnt made on the sun i couldnt enjoy the game with only 5 fps. Yeah i tried this game out. Got to level 30 in my free month, i really enjoyed it. For those who want to have more control over your combat, and less clicking and finding spells all the time, this is for you. Much more real time combat feel to it. Graphics are great, soundtrack is beautiful, dont listen to die hard MMO fans that keep bashin it, cause there is no other MMO liket his game. This ones original. It takes a nice computer though, which is why im waiting to continue to play. Try it out

Ah mybad man, i did purchase the game, and it came with a free month's subscription, but i guess its all how you look at it, maybe buying the game was paying for that so called free month. I do believe they come with Guest keys though, so if you know someone who has one, they surely have a guest key for you.
I like how you can choose to attack frontal or side to side i also love the spell detail on this game im a necromancer so far and im loving it. I got to level 23 in 1 day and oddly enough its extremely easy to level in the beginning first twenty levels.
ok fine if you dont like wow, but answer me this...why not just get warhammer? its less buggy its bigger it has better pvp/pve theres more players graphics allmost on par with much lower system reqs, there are soo many more features. theres 200 vs 200 pvp...and they call this epic? its pathetic.
warhammer died in 3-4 weeks, it was very buggy, it wasnt 200 v 200 like they said and classes were not as balancedas they said the scenarios were like wows, always going to the destruction. WAR was really not that good it was over hyped and is not comparable to wow or AoC

I believe you are talking about AoC, since warhammer still has tons of subscribers, and has battles of around 60 vs 60 at times (depending on the server you are on, battles can be larger depending on the server) And there arent any game breaking bugs or anything. AoC on the other hand was a big fail, and only has about 40% of the content in it that was promissed. WAR is one of the big MMO's out there at the moment.

this game is a crock. You are lucky to find 20 people in each zone. 99% of the game is instanced, and the graphic system is poorly designed that you will not have more than 15 players screen without getting lagged to death.

So what about the fact that this game's early in developement. Besides, the pvp is literally savage, blood gore and there is complete tactics. PVE, is quite francly brilliant.
AOC actually makes you think in combat, the computer reads your combat style and makes it harder on the next npc. Constantly changing your tactics.

I have news for you World of Warcraft players: WoW was just awful in the beginning, PvP was useless, and the endgame content was basically pure bollocks. Your an idiot... World of Warcraft on release = sucky bugs (blink bug still isn't fixed) and not that much endgame content, it was all added in huge, stupid to download patchs. Plus, the only reason it has like 5 fps during siege is because its huge, and i'v took put in huge pvp wars on this and had no fps problems. Maybe you just suck, oh and alot of pc's can run this... I'm running it on a 7600GT, 2 core processor at medium-high graphics.
Yea, they have fixed the FPS, I was in a battlekeep siege today and i was at least 30+ on high...I don't see why people bitch so much, don't you understand that fixes are coming?

this game sucks. Darkfall is going to be so much better. No instanced seige, no minigays (minigames if you dont get the joke.....), and yes the lag has been reduced to zero unless there are 500+ people in a very small area, and that is very uncommon. No floating names,better combat system (AoC is wow's its just hidden, you still target and click your ability)
Theres a time window in which the attacking force have to take the keep by, so ive read. (the owners of the keep can increase the windo or decrease it, the higher the windo, the more buffs the guild gets whilst the battlekeep is theres), yes you can have seige as a defender. you can leave your keep to attack the seige weopons outside attacking, is what i think on the last one, well they must have hit points otherwise it would be stupid :D. but wont see any seiges yet, guilds need time to build
Age of Conan is eye candy, the game-play sucks. Nonetheless all of these fanboy clips purposely make AoC look good and WoW look bad... I could easily make the same video with WoW as the upper hands - you're not providing supported facts that tell me AoC is better. Blizzard are the big boys, they've been around longer... you guild city (to my knowledge) acts as a normal NPC city, there buildings ect all built by players and also useable by players, for example you will need access to your guild's alchemy workshop for top tier alchemy, you can trade at the trade depot, which is like an auction house but with set sale prices, no auctions. i also believe that you can train NPC soldiers to help defend your city (not entirely sure on that one) alone with being able to hire outher guilds to help defend/attack.
I've been playing this game for a week now, and I gotta say I'm loving it. Obviously it hasnt been out as long as WoW therefore doesnt have as many features but its definetly on the right track. Combat is great.
i m confused i think this is a really good concept.but. does your guild have access to this keep at all times? or is it just a pvp thing. cause i would like my mates and me to build a keep we can all meet at and socialise and still have acces to the outside world so we can go questing and head back to our keep at the end of the day. please if someone can reply with the answer to my question that would be awsome cause this is the turning point, wether i buy the game or not.
Yes you can always enter your keep and you can still quest and other stuff. You can also make your own guild city which is always available to your guildies but only available for other people when you open it.
yes. they can go in and out of it whenever they want. there is set times (completly random meaning it cud be 2pm - 4pm 1 day. tomorow it cud be 8am - 10am) that u can be attacked by other people (u get told what time for all the days in the week u can be attacked)
Well, the whole guild have to build it, cut trees, etc. you and ur mates can do that. but i dont know about the questing thing. but i think you can build armorssmith and stuff inside, so yes. your mates and stuff can go in and talk etc.

ive played wow for 2 years now im lvl 70 got full epic got an arena team done the raids but its just not that fun anymore since bc came out its always farming this farming that im gettin sick of it im not gonna play aoc or war ... im going for darkfall...no farming +sandbox gameplay and being able to be a pirate <3 nuff said
I've been playing WoW for 3 years, grand marshal/gladiator paladin, and imho WoW is going to loose alot of players for games such as this. Most of the hardcore players I know are quitting/rerolling game, and by hardcore I mean high rating, 2.3k~
Technically, AoC has WoW errors to learn from. I'm not surprised to see better elements at release. But, it's more about keeping the game as good as it seems during beta, and release. WoW lost players due to BC. AoC can do the same with a patch or an expansion. Then again, there's Warhammer who may take the cake. Doubt it, but there's a chance. I'm pretty much saying that comparing WoW with AoC is dumb, especially how AoC is still new.

3 years have passed and funcom still havent fixed sieges.
At this moment 2011 summer and sieges are still lagging with 5000ms latency and frame rate to cry about. Unplayable content.

I have played alot of diffrent mmo's 8 total.
My latest MMO was WOW i played it for 2 years with my wife, it was a really good MMO.
But i did not like everything, like the pvp it was a bit boring.
I have played Shadowbane and if you compare it with WOW pvp, wow pvp is worthless, anyway the pve was awesome !
Well after around 2 years AOC came me and my wife just had to try it !
And i can only say OMG !
Its AWESOME !
One of the best mmo's ive played :)
Strongly recommend it to everyone!

this game is a crock. You are lucky to find 20 people in each zone. 99% of the game is instanced, and the graphic system is poorly designed that you will not have more than 15 players screen without getting lagged to death.

This game has shitty pvp with absolutely no strategy, random spawn camping at low level zones, and dont get me started on PvE with total of 2 playable dungeons. Pathetic!

So what about the fact that this game's early in developement. Besides, the pvp is literally savage, blood gore and there is complete tactics. PVE, is quite francly brilliant.
AOC actually makes you think in combat, the computer reads your combat style and makes it harder on the next npc. Constantly changing your tactics.
Nobody shouldunder rate this game, it's alot more mature and sinister than other MMORPG I've seen.
It's more than worth the money.

Laughed my arse off to hear talk of "hundreds of players" at 0:25 and again at 1:31. Assuming you could find 100s who give a rat's ass, the PvP system does not support instanced PvP in the 100s and probably never will. More lies and bullshit. at 9:05 there is talk of PvP tanks, XP and bloodmoney - none of this exists either.

Depends what the processor is mate, i have 2gb DDR2, e6420 @ 3.5GHz and an 8800gt and i played everything maxed but had the view distance 3/4 of the way.

I have news for you World of Warcraft players: WoW was just awful in the beginning, PvP was useless, and the endgame content was basically pure bollocks. It took about a year for WoW to become a somewhat decent game. Cut AoC some slack, give it a couple of months to add content, and please: Shut the fuck up.

I'm sorry to say this but this game is a fucking joke and I'll be giving it up for some time after my free time is finished.
Recently they had the first ever siege in game and people were getting like 5fps on the lowest possible settings and these players had good gaming rigs. It's the bugs, the lack of end game content no suprise this game gets average reviews. Fuck you Funcom.

Your an idiot... World of Warcraft on release = sucky bugs (blink bug still isn't fixed) and not that much endgame content, it was all added in huge, stupid to download patchs. Plus, the only reason it has like 5 fps during siege is because its huge, and i'v took put in huge pvp wars on this and had no fps problems. Maybe you just suck, oh and alot of pc's can run this... I'm running it on a 7600GT, 2 core processor at medium-high graphics.

this game sucks. Darkfall is going to be so much better. No instanced seige, no minigays (minigames if you dont get the joke.....), and yes the lag has been reduced to zero unless there are 500+ people in a very small area, and that is very uncommon. No floating names,better combat system (AoC is wow's its just hidden, you still target and click your ability)

Theres a time window in which the attacking force have to take the keep by, so ive read. (the owners of the keep can increase the windo or decrease it, the higher the windo, the more buffs the guild gets whilst the battlekeep is theres), yes you can have seige as a defender. you can leave your keep to attack the seige weopons outside attacking, is what i think on the last one, well they must have hit points otherwise it would be stupid :D. but wont see any seiges yet, guilds need time to build

Age of Conan is eye candy, the game-play sucks. Nonetheless all of these fanboy clips purposely make AoC look good and WoW look bad... I could easily make the same video with WoW as the upper hands - you're not providing supported facts that tell me AoC is better. Blizzard are the big boys, they've been around longer... AoC will never be better than WoW. I could provide facts as well, but... I'm wasting enough time all ready with you fanboys.

you guild city (to my knowledge) acts as a normal NPC city, there buildings ect all built by players and also useable by players, for example you will need access to your guild's alchemy workshop for top tier alchemy, you can trade at the trade depot, which is like an auction house but with set sale prices, no auctions. i also believe that you can train NPC soldiers to help defend your city (not entirely sure on that one) alone with being able to hire outher guilds to help defend/attack.

I've been playing this game for a week now, and I gotta say I'm loving it. Obviously it hasnt been out as long as WoW therefore doesnt have as many features but its definetly on the right track. Combat is great.

i m confused i think this is a really good concept.but. does your guild have access to this keep at all times? or is it just a pvp thing. cause i would like my mates and me to build a keep we can all meet at and socialise and still have acces to the outside world so we can go questing and head back to our keep at the end of the day. please if someone can reply with the answer to my question that would be awsome cause this is the turning point, wether i buy the game or not.

Yes you can always enter your keep and you can still quest and other stuff. You can also make your own guild city which is always available to your guildies but only available for other people when you open it.

yes. they can go in and out of it whenever they want. there is set times (completly random meaning it cud be 2pm - 4pm 1 day. tomorow it cud be 8am - 10am) that u can be attacked by other people (u get told what time for all the days in the week u can be attacked)

Well, the whole guild have to build it, cut trees, etc. you and ur mates can do that. but i dont know about the questing thing. but i think you can build armorssmith and stuff inside, so yes. your mates and stuff can go in and talk etc.

I love this game i loves the beta i loved the game play. it is a wonderful game and the possibilities are endless of what it can become even more in the future but also i play wow and i love the game all the ppl that are hating on wow should not say it was a piece of crap game because it is not wow is also a wonderful game that also is fun 2 play all these games are fun and should not be hating on something that you may or may of not played so i say i like both games and AoC and wow are fun :)

ive played wow for 2 years now im lvl 70 got full epic got an arena team done the raids but its just not that fun anymore since bc came out its always farming this farming that im gettin sick of it im not gonna play aoc or war ... im going for darkfall...no farming +sandbox gameplay and being able to be a pirate <3 nuff said

I've been playing WoW for 3 years, grand marshal/gladiator paladin, and imho WoW is going to loose alot of players for games such as this. Most of the hardcore players I know are quitting/rerolling game, and by hardcore I mean high rating, 2.3k~

Technically, AoC has WoW errors to learn from. I'm not surprised to see better elements at release. But, it's more about keeping the game as good as it seems during beta, and release. WoW lost players due to BC. AoC can do the same with a patch or an expansion. Then again, there's Warhammer who may take the cake. Doubt it, but there's a chance. I'm pretty much saying that comparing WoW with AoC is dumb, especially how AoC is still new.
